You can wear a guy out, Vezina-scale or not - we toasted Hellebuyck in four games. Georgiev, and the defense in front of him, has rediscovered their collective mojo after a much longer span between the pipes with no breaks. He's on another level now. Technically, yesterday was a shutout for King George because that goal was after an obvious (look at the freaking SCREEN!) Jets offsides. And damn, no coach adapts so quickly as does Bednar. It's proactive. I swear he has tactic shifts at the ready, just waiting for the Jets coach to signal a shift their attack, mid-period. Keeps the other coach in reactive mode the entire game.

This is a team right on top of their game at the right time. Excellent preparation by coaching staff!

CM you said it right at the beginning of this episode,”We just didn’t know what to expect after the way the regular season ended” I commented to Shaggy they are talented enough to flip the switch and go but this is next level play. We are still due a game that Nate takes over, but for sure the biggest turn has been Georgie! If he keeps this going AVS will be tough to beat. Can not ask for more of a team effort at both ends of ice than we are getting now! LETS GO BOYS!!!

3:15 I couldn’t stop saying while watching the game and I said it to shaggy during a comment exchange after last episode. I’m a big vibes guy. And right now, the vibes are IMMACULATE for the Avs. I mean I know a lot of detractors expected a tight series here but I knew we could walk winnepeg right out the building. Georgie over these past 2 games is playing his best hockey as an Av at the best possible moment. Zach parise is damn near 40 years old playing like a relentless ahl full in trying to prove his worth. Yakob trenin is banging bodies in the offensive zone and drawing penalties. Things are unreal in Avs town right now. Cogs killing penalties damn near solitarily. This is the team I thought I’d see all season long and they picked the best possible time to finally show up. We’re scoring seemingly at will. Getting flashbacks to the cup run. 4:47 I mean I think a lot of people have forgotten just how good the central division is. It’s a fucking dog fight every year. The 2nd 3rd 4th team in the central is often on of the top 7/8 in the entire nhl. We just happened to fall 3rd this season. Don’t forget, Dallas, who somehow won the thing. Didn’t beat us all year and gave up 2 of our biggest comebacks on the road both times. I mean after last year losing to Seattle in 7, I almost feel like the devil you know, is preferable to the one you don’t. How does the bracket even work? We get the winner of Dallas vegas? Do they re seed after the 1st round? The playoff format is a mess. It needs to be fixed. And I know the East has won a few cups in the past few years thanks to the Lightning but I think it’s a soft conference compared to the west. Tom Wilson is the toughest guy in the east. The devils came and got Kurtis mcdermid specifically to usurp that throne. Wilson would catch a fucking BEATING from anyone in the west. Knights, avs, jets, kings, oilers. They all have guys who will fuck his entire day up

TNT is so unbelievably boring and untalented at handling streams and announcing games. It's not just the clear bias against the Avs, it's the lack of having anything interesting to say, then saying that in a dull tone. I never like having to watch their broadcasts.

I honestly think that with how this season and game 1 went. WPG thought that they were going to mop the floor with us in 5, they remind me a little of the Avs and Knights a few years back where we won game 1 and 2 and thought it was going to be easy. It seems like WPG really let off the gas pedal in these last 4 games.

I think, the Avs bought into Bednar, plain in simple. Hard on the forecheck but without sacrificing your defensive duties. I think the 7-0 in the regular season and Game1 7-6 losses made it hit home even more

Nuke with the hatty According to the tnt broadcast makars a "unicorn" Lehky being clutch...again georgie is playing with fire only letting 1 in. Mind you i kinda thought it was soft, but it only happened once so... bro couldve had a shutout thats all im saying. (If he keeps doing well I'll owe him an apology from game 1 specifically because i shilled for him during the regular season...) And finally jets fans picked up some karma from game 1 because THEIR goalie got pulled. Mind you i expect the jets to play hard in game 5 because its at home and their playoff lives depend on it but i dont think the jets can win 3 more games before the avs get 1.

This is what “flipping the switch” looks like. Bednar and this core are experienced enough where it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they purposely play potential playoff opponents very vanilla during the season and give them very little to prepare for. Playing better is one thing but this is, “Things that make you go Hmmm”, C&C Music Factory level better. Guess that’s my sound check as well 😂 Whether or not they just caught lightning in a bottle or were sandbagging, I’m freaking loving this!

I told you the Avs were just bored for most the regular season and didn't give a crap about seeding lol Man Mittlestadt fits like a glove at 2C and he might be the best pure passer on the team, finally we have that true play driver in the middle on all 3 scoring lines.

Love how chessmaster Bednar adapts in real-time to the Jet's responses. He's keeping them on reactive rather than predictive hockey. He didn't tip his hand to them during the regular season, either. Sticking to the rope-a-dope theory here :^)

I’m pretty ambivalent towards Dillon. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I knew that with a big, bully team, they’d start the goonery. Furthermore, the Jets were pretty chirpy and cocky earlier in the series. Interesting. I think this series still goes 6-7. With Georgie being up and down, it’s still too hard to say who will win. Go Avs.

Man is nice seeing the avs string some wins. Georgiev getting his playoff vibes. Tighten up defensively and give winnepeg no room to tie the series. Let's go AVs, hopefully Dillons hand isnt a major cut. Looks pretty bad.

Some additional intangibles. First is that playoff Lehky is in full force and dear lord, probably the most clutch player in the league this time of year. Second is Parise moving up the lineup with the injury to Drouin is working out nicely. Was concerned with him being out when the series started and have almost forgotten about it now. Third is that Val has stepped it up and maybe that final regular season game woke the sleeping giant. If he doesn’t play well, the Avs don’t make a deep run so incredibly encouraging. And yeah, Mitts looking like a legit 2nd line center is massive as he’s making the guys next to him look great as well which is what good centers do. Was a little worried about Sammy G being rusty but he looked great. And loving the energy and contributions from the bottom six. Everyone just playing very inspired hockey right now and this team is radiating confidence throughout the lineup. This version of the Avs can beat any team in the league. Only concern today is the start time. Avs haven’t been good in most early start games but it’s playoffs so I think the intensity will be there this afternoon. LFG AVS!

This team is looking better than the 2022 team especially considering the star players have not even hit their highest gear. If georgiev keeps playing like this I don’t know of any team that can stop the avalanche. Helle has looked really good I don’t think he is playing terrible that’s just what happens when you face the avalanche offense. The avs are super good at taking the best goalies in the world and giving them a wedgie (I’m looking at you vassy) I think Vegas will be the hardest team but I think the avs can take em for sure

So far the avs have been able to force Winnepeg to play the avs game. Maybe not for all 60 minutes, but enough to keep the jets from finding a groove while the avs get the goals they need. As far as penalties go if that is any teams excuse they dont have much hope for a long season. The major and delay of game were clear cut. Interference calls just arent happening, and the trip/hooks seem to come in pairs. One for each. Special teams execution is the real difference here

What I’ve noticed with our scoring is it’s every type of scoring, rebound, redirects, screens, from the point. I think that’s why Connor is having a hard time. He’s being peppered with every type of shot and lots of them

I think the team immediately rallying around Georgie after he just had maybe his worst performance ever, really settled him mentally. Hes back to the relaxed, smooth Georgiev that looks like hes having fun again. Also Hellebuyk aint Vasi lol Vasi can truly be a teams defense single handedly if necessary

Biggest difference I find between the playoffs this year, last year and regular season is Avs overall defense. Georgiev was amazing last season, how much of last year's loss to Kraken did he put on himself. This year I think that guilty cause him to try to do too much at times, especially knowing Franky would not be returning. Last year if he was in position especially down low he was going to make that save. Just like last year playoffs the Avs had key D out for stretches at a time or playing injured this year. The backend is the backbone on how the Avs wanted to play for the last 4 years.
