- The Colorado Avalanche needed to get back on track. And Nathan MacKinnon was just the guy for the job.
A four point night, including his 3rd hat trick of the season, lifted the Avs to a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Wild which eliminated the Wild from playoff contention in the process.

MacK "skates like he hates the ice."
3 breakaway goals in one game pretty much solidified that lol imagine being so fast that even though the D-men have a good lead on you, you STILL blow past them like they are standing still. Insane.
He works with a power skating coach to tweak his stride & technique. One unique aspect is his 'gallop' where he gets airborne to start like standing up on a bike.
These goals also showed his anticipation to gain extra speed before accepting a pass, so when he gets the puck he's already flying & is basically undefendable. That last goal he bullied Gus back into his own net, lol.
Incredible that he repeats this over & over & over. The PDO Cast made a video on him & noticed Nate will chnage strategy based on things like: which zone he's starting in, how many defenders, how much space to the goal line, etc. He's constantly looking for cues to attack & is several moves ahead of defenders; its not fair!
but hes not the messiah. Mcjesus rules all.
The Eclipse of Makar and Mack Attack (man that was a lot of hats). Kind of overshadowed the goalie issue, I don't trust Georgi. Who do you start against the Jets? Georgi or give Justus a shot at a better team. I think they are doing everything they can to help Georgi so it will probably be him ... wait what is that it's a bird, it's a plane its... Franky is back from retirement to save the Avs in the post-season. lol. That one is for you Shaggy.
Bednar's philosophy is once a starter is identified, he'll get every chance to sink or swim, so if a change is made nobody can argue against it. This helps guys buying into the Avs & keep a peaceful locker room. IMO 40 is gonna get Game 1; what happens after depends on the performance.
Nate Dawg has rockets on his skates - those goals looked like penalty shots.
It’s ironic cause I believe the only player that can contain Macs speed and skill plays with him and that’s Makar ,,, just like he did to McDavid in the conference final 2 years ago,,, as for Mac for MVP , if you don’t think he is then you’re just watching highlights and not games,,, just like the Toronto complainers who think that Mathews deserves to be in the same conversation as Mac ,,, now that’s funny!
Kucherov is an awesome player, one of the best passers ever but Mackinnon and McDavid are on a level of their own when it comes to pure all around hockey players.

If the avs can stay out of the box I think georgiev can be serviceable. 5 on 5 they are very good, but give up powerplay goals. I know they have a high pk%, but they also take a lot of penalties. They win that dallas game with better discipline

I wish this podcast would be so in detail about every mistake EACH player makes during a game. You only focus on Georgiev and that's it. If I were not an Avs fan, I would wish Georgiev would get injured and YOUR Annunen had to play and would run this team in the ground swept in round 1. It is sad how you nearly hope that Georgiev makes mistakes so you can, again, slaughter him in your podcast - sad, very sad!
