- The Colorado Avalanche got past the Minnesota Wild 5-2 Thursday night in St. Paul. Justus Annunen came up huge again and saved 44 shots while Jonathan Drouin got beyond the 50 point mark. Mikko Rantanen added not only an empty netter that sealed the game, but it was also his 40th goal of the season.
Now the Avs have to turn around and do it all again in Edmonton against the Oilers on Friday.

I think that rhe State of Hockey should be an award-based title that is earned on an annual basis. It should be a compendium of your professional teams, and your college teams. I could easily make a strong case for Colorado and Massachusetts over Minny. Of course, Minny fans are going to hate this idea. I think it would create state rivalries that would promote the game in a healthy and com[petitive way.
Annunen should 100% be the starter for this team. Georgie is good but lacks focus and lets in soft goals too frequently circa Varlamov. In order to win a cup you need a solid goalie that takes up lots of space. Juice is that prototypical body and athletic type!! He looks awesome!! We may have lightning in a bottle here.

If Juice can pull a Frankie, if called upon to do so, in the Postseason, we can probably assume the Georgie doesn't get resigned at the end of his current contract. JD could sign a "Bridge" one year contract with a "Prove it" next season at 2M/1yr. He doesn't play this way in another Team Culture, even he sees that. The guy is smiling, if you recall, he had basically gone the Player's Assistance route not too long ago. Something to think about, especially with how the Playoffs go/no-go😉💪🏻
Liked the game for juice, though i would have liked him to stop the second one. He looks much better this year than he did in his starts last year
Before I watch, not even kidding real actual question here: do you start Anunnen over georgiev if the playoffs started today? Bc I think I do tbh…dudes been solid as hell. I’ve been asking all year for a solid backup to spell georgiev. I think Justus is straight up better right now
I think it would be a little unfair to georgiev to lose the starting job in playoffs, but if let's say he doesn't, perform well In the first two games in the playoffs i think You could see juice

I'm not there. I like how Justus has played, but he's still very green. And I wouldn't want to put that weight of the playoffs on him game 1. It's a whole different animal. Plus, while he's played well, he hasn't gone up against the best in the league. U do in the postseason. So I think you go with Georgiev to start and if things aren't going well, u give Justus a shot. It's not like Georgiev has played bad recently either, minus the Preds game.
No definitely not. He's the backup and if you take confidence away from your starter you can expect it to burn you. Start georgie and change if he's not playing well

To me you give Drouin 25 million/6 years ,,, 4 million/year and 1 million signing bonus ,,, he gets 25 millions which is what he made in Mtl being on a contender for the rest of his career and the Avs get a great deal , and will get better as the cap goes up ,, kind of like the RNH in Edmonton
I don't know how I'd feel about Druin for $6.25 a year for four years after one decent season and I'd rather see him walk. He has 50 points in an insanely good situation. He plays virtually all of his 5-on-5 time with 29 and 96 with 7 and 8 on the back end. He gets top pp minutes where he has nearly a third of his goals and 40% of his points. I think they give him $2-2.5 for another prove it year like they did with val. I think it would make more sense to give him the 4 years after another similar or better year
@@chemguy5468 It’s $4M-4.5M long term at minimum if they have any chance of keeping him. Not an exact science but typically you can calculate about $1M per 10 points and he’ll get some nice offers once FA opens up. Top priorities in the offseason will be getting both Mikko and Mitts signed. Landy’s scenario for next season will dictate a lot of what happens as well which is still a massive unknown. I have faith in the front office so whatever direction they go, I’ll be onboard.

Right there with you on Resident Evil. I remember the first time playing the first one and to this day Resident Evil 2 is one of my favorite games ever. Final Fantasy 7 is another that never gets old. Alan Wake and Heavy Rain are both games that I couldn't get enough of. Was big on the Halo series as well. Probably plunged more time on Halo 2 and 3 multiplayer than any game ever. If Portal 3 ever becomes a thing I'll definitely make time for that. Portal 2 is a classic

@LockedOnAvalanche My man. RE2 is still my favorite game of the PS1 era. Goldeneye for N64, Halo series for Xbox, and then CoD4 for the PS3/360 generation. After that, I had kids and don't get to game like the old days.

It should come as no surprise to hear that the Wild had 8 high danger shots and had 5.09 expected goals. Those are both high numbers. So whatever they are looking at wasn't hockey related stats.

im not shocked by that graphic , Edmonton is in the pacific weakest division ever ,if they were in the central they would not be even in a wild card , like what is it over 60% of ur games are against division teams no way they win 50% in the central ,just look what dallas did to em ,oilers always look good cause they are playing bottom dwellers all year long
