- The Colorado Avalanche continue to roll in month of March as a 4-3 win over a very game St. Louis Blues team gave the Avs their 7th straight win as well as competing their four game road trip with eight points.
Mikko Rantanen lead the way with a hat trick, Nathan MacKinnon kept his points streak alive, and Justus Annunen provided another solid performance.
Unfortunately it wasn't all good news for the Avalanche Nation on Tuesday. Former Avalanche forward and member for the 95-96 Stanley Cup Winning team Chris Simon passed away. We remember him.

Chris Simon was LITERALLY my introduction to Hockey. And I just fell in love with how aggressive he was on the ice, which caused me to keep watching.
I am so sad. We lost a great Hockey player and person. I have read it was by suicide and the family believes it was a result of CTE...

I’ll always remember Simons first playoff goal… game five against the Blackhawks in 95-96. 2-2 in the series after the game four roenick breakaway/Roy press conference. Simon put us up 2-0 and Chicago gave up after it! A classic Colorado sports moment and player, really sad it ends this way
Avs stayed with it like champions. Excellent game. 4-0 on that brutal stretch is amazing - even a back-to-back didn't slow them down.

That last game was so fun to watch. (St. Pats weekend)....Can not wait for that series to start. Can we vote after that series? That will be proof. Man o mano. For me, its easily mackinnon. Usually i see goalies as anchors, the most important player on the ice. For the avs mackinon is the anchor. Eventhough Overloaded with talent, they wouldnt be the same team without him. I feel like the oilers, overloaded with talent also....would still be the oilers with or without mcdavid. 100 assists? I take that back...let the playoffs prove it on the ice. I know, i know...this kind of stuff makes it easy to be a fan. LOVE IT.

Justus played good but he did give up a lot of juicy rebounds. Luckily out D cleared it from infront of the net

He played really well considering what he had in front of them. As soon as the extra attacker hit the ice at the end, having 11 guys in front of you in essentially a power play situation with 2 extra guys on the ice isn’t easy. He stood it where it mattered

Not their best stuff but it’s not going to be every night and especially on the tail end of the road trip after having to sit around a few days just waiting around. It’s a great sign that they were still able to play well enough to beat a team on the road that is in full on desperation mode. Have to imagine it will be nice to get home and for the new guys, a few days to get settled in Denver since they basically were traded and then sent on the road for almost two weeks. Now for some home cooking!

Annunen dropped too many pucks to the front, he should try to minimize that. If this had been Georgiev, Kyle would have criticized this, not with Annunen. For me, Georgiev is 1 and Annunen 2, not 1a and 1b. Finally, the Avs are back to being a very good team also in away games. Very important win as WPG got the 2 points in NY.
Seemed like the ice was choppy, especially on our end for 2 periods. A lot of bouncing pucks and over skating that you don’t see on clean ice

Kyle LOL this was the furthest thing from a playoff game it was sloppy it was ugly it was kind of lazy in some spots and one of my least favorite games of the year. I got to give you credit though every show I watch of you guys you get me with something so off the wall I just have to laugh out loud
Also: Kovalenko was sent down to the AHL. Makes sense. You’re not entirely sure what he is yet, send him down to get his feet wet.
The team stated they sent him down to keep rehabbing his injured leg. So it made their decision, at least for now, a little easier on what to do with him
Their almost as good as the team that won the Cup Edmonton was their best victory Evander Kane is not liked by Avs fans
