And those P Zeros have given us a 1.42 sixty foot on the way to a 9.15 at 152MPH. Running an ET like that on summer radials with 40psi? Unfathomable just a few years ago.

I've had the P zero's and found them good in the dry but terrible in the wet, then switched to the Michelin pilot sport 4S and they are about the same in the dry but MUCH better in the wet ( stage 2 golf 7 gti ) . I now have a model 3 and loving it . Hope 1 day i will own a plaid 😃. Keep

We loved the PS4 on our 2019 Model S Performance than ran 10.4 ETs with them. Problem is, they don’t make the PS4 for a 19” wheel that is the required 28.0” outside diameter and desired width. And no way will we go up to 20” or 21” wheels 🛞 . But the PS5 might have the right sizes by the time we replace the Pirellis later this winter 👍

Actually it’s a Channel for gearheads, as we are most frequently told by loyal regular viewers that don’t own Teslas and definitely aren’t fan boys. (Like the drivers of the gas cars that we usually race.) The fact that some fan boys also enjoy this Channel is just a side-effect of the fact that our Tesla wins the vast majority of our races 😉

21K miles and around 900 dragstrip runs. Hasn’t slowed down at all because we take care of the battery with our charging habits. We just ran 9.201 in March. That’s the fastest we’ve ever run in those particular conditions. (We only run 9.1s in hot weather, as we will again this summer)

Nope. Conditions matter. Learn about drag racing before making such a comment. What good is more power without traction? In January, the Plaid’s superior (and more mature) traction control algorithm allowed us to win 3 times in a row. Driver didn’t matter. If you were driving, the gap would have been twice as big. This Sapphire driver has thousands of runs of drag racing experience. More than you will ever have 😃

21K miles now in nearly 3 years. We don’t monitor our discharge rate, but our ETs have been 9.2s from 95% down to 75%. We’ve made six 9.2 runs in a row many times 👍

He actually hit the rev limiter, as he talks about later. Those 4.56 gears don’t allow him to get to 1320 feet in top gear. Thats why he swapped them out with 4.10 gears right after these races 👍

We have our 2019 Tesla S Performance, which has been down the dragstrip over 1001 times. A 10.4-second car, it’s more than enough for a daily driver 👍. Very low cost of ownership! The Plaid only leaves the garage to go to the track 😃 We’ve owned a number of Camaros and Mustangs over the years, some with built motors or nitrous. No ICE in our garage at this moment. Future cars? The Roadster has our attention, although we know Tesla will drop the price as soon as supply catches up with demand 💰

You have that need for speed!

👍Indeed, our 2019 Model S Performance (running mid 10s) has actually been down the dragstrip a bit over 1000 times and the 1000th time was faster than all previous 999. That was 3 years ago and it’s still going strong as our daily driver. No maintenance outside of tires and wiper places. This Plaid isn’t quite at 1000 yet, but possibly before the end of this year. It’s a lot faster (low 9s and 150 MPH), so it needed a set of brake pads already 😃

All our 9.1s have been run in hot summer weather, and yet the car recently ran 9.201 on a mild night in March with a cooler full of drinks and other weight in the car. That would have been a 9.199 if we had a trailer to put everything in, like a lot of guys have. But we drive to and from the track. We are confident we’ll have more 9.1s this summer like last summer.

Yeah that was definitely the dual motor variant (600hp). The Cyberbeast(845hp) has run 11 flat at 119mph consistently on the street and non prepped surfaces.

Not especially gutted. Rear seats out (easy), plus rear carpet and some trim. Most everything is still *intact* including both original front seats, along with all door panels, all airbags, all mirrors, all 20 stereo speakers and subwoofer. We've only removed about 170 lbs, which explains the ~0.11 gain that we've seen as tested over the past ~900 dragstrip runs. (Our best ET going from 9.26 at full weight to 9.15 best ever)

But even with rear seats out, that rail dragster is *less than half* our weight. (Probably closer to 1/3rd!)
