      Indeed, although I know you understand gearing, some guys think it’ll be “just as fast” with gearing to go 1320. Yet we know that if someone wants to get quicker, they bump up to a 5.88 or whatever he’s running, which is why he hit redline in top gear by 1000 feet 👍

      @ivegoneplaid Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@TeslaPlaidChannel of course, you lose 60' time with a smaller gear. Most of those fast cars run a glide.. If they'd run a 3 speed auto, they could go with a smaller gear and still have the 60' time due to a bigger first gear on the transmission. I was pulling mid 1.30's 60' time on my old Vette with a 3.70 gears as I was running a built 200R4 transmission with a HUGE first gear 2.74 ratio I believe. The Glide had a 1.80 first gear. When I went from TH200R4 to Glide, I lost a full tenth of a second in the 60' time and had to go with a bigger rear gear to compensate. Went with 4.11 rear gear after switching to the Glide.

Just like a Tesla has a computer to figure out everything for you, THAT is way more of an advantage than a trans brake lol.
      All I'm saying is just be honest, a Tesla is turn-key, not much skill needed, car to be fast (and it is ridiculously fast!) A gas car takes way more talent to drive, most owners are upfront about it and don't make excuses when they lose :)

      @@TeslaPlaidChannel I agree that a lot of the AWD BMW's, Audis etc. have pretty good traction control, but not on the level that EV's do, they are just amazing in that dept! But when it comes to RWD, it's a totally different beast and requires so much more skill to deal with traction. For example, if you and the other racer swapped cars, the other driver would have been able to turn in similar times to yours. But you most likely wouldn't be able to do nowhere near the same with his car. I am including that you'd know how to use the trans brake etc., of course :)

      That’s reversed actually. The ICE cars have to “cool down” between runs. They don’t have to ability to go back-to-back. (They remain inferior that way.) Meanwhile we’ve made as many as TWENTY dragstrip runs in ONE 4-hour session. We’ve NEVER seen a 9-second ICE do that. NEVER.
      Plus, we’ve never had a broken part after almost TWO THOUSAND Tesla timeslips. How many 9- and 10-second cars can say that? Our only maintenance has been one set of brake pads. We’ve still got the original tires on this Plaid even after 18K miles and over 850 passes.
      Plus, it goes over 350 miles per charge. We’ve never once charged at the track or on the way home, yet we get home with 50% still leftover. Our ICE buddies all have to stop for gas to get home, and get to deal with the late night panhandlers and riffraff.
      Our experience is superior from start to finish 👍

      We’ve owned 6 Teslas now. One of them showed a fault code one weekend. We took it in on Monday and picked it up on Tuesday. They put in a whole new battery for free! In only 24 hours. Like a whole new drivertrain! We replaced the floor mats that same week to complete the “new car” experience.
      Otherwise virtually no maintenance. No fluid changes. Only tires and wiper blades. Love these cars!
      (BTW, the oldest one of our Teslas is still being driven by my sister, around 100k miles and going strong.)

      Roll Racing is all there was on this night, as the rain shutdown the track before the strip was reconfigured for drag racing. Given the choice of Roll Racing or No Racing, we will pick Roll Racing every time 👍

Mostly with dirt bikes and a cbr900 and the 70roadrunner my dad. gave me to learn how to work on cars. Anyhow I still have fast cars and bikes..
      I have a 70roadrunner that's low and wide and sporting big single turbo mounted to a 528 Cid bbm..I also have a 69 roadrunner that's getting the pro mod stuff and going to put my awesome son to chase his dream ....oh yeah forgot to mention my fast zx14

      But would it be “just as quick” with gearing to go 1320? We know that if someone wants to get quicker, they bump up to a 5.88 or whatever he’s running, which is why he hit redline in top gear by 1000 feet 👍
      Sometimes gotta choose: Quick or fast. And even with the low gearing (high numerical) he was running, was it “pulling” on the Plaid? 🤔
      Ever so barely…suggesting a longer gear would cause the tides to turn, and the Plaid would then be pulling on the top end…

      @@TeslaPlaidChannel oh I thought he let out due to cage reasons or something like that but if he ran out of gear that makes perfect sense. 👍🏻
