It was Mulan that finally got people to realize they don't like these movies. Since Disney is Disney they tried to double down with Pinocchio and The little Mermaid as they do since they are idots. Now that didn't work either so now they are trying 2 different tactics. This one is the "let's make a sequel to the live action movie that sold best" Their other tactic is to double down again so they hired the most annoying person on Earth to play their princess but we still have to wait a bit before it fail since someone with a couple of braincells still working saw where things were going and postponed it. Not going to help but they tried. Anyways, I am not sure if posts laughing about their movie is worse then turning off comments. I don't think any normal person would watch any movie who are so bad they turn off the comments on the trailer. Yeah, this is what happens when you decide to let the weather man run the company. FFS, how many failures in a row do they need to realize this is a bad idea? The interesting thing is that it might have worked if they used 2D animation instead of their soul less CGI program they used for their first live action movie. It still seem pretty lazy to make a prequel, we know what happens to Mufasa already and if I somehow see the movie (basically if I visit someone who has it on) I think I would cheer for Scar who get his inheritance stolen by some homeless dude. No wonder he is so cranky and out for revenge, it is like your boss promoting the new intern instead of you who worked long and hard for a promotion. In any case, their "realistic" 3D animation of these character does not work at all, they could have changed it so it the characters would be more cartoony and actually show emotions but of course they didn't, the first movie sold great in another era. Didn't they fire the guy who got these ideas for incompetence? That should mean they know it is a bad idea and yet they do it anyways. Idiots.

I don't think the issue is "uncanny valley". Heck what's really uncanny valley is digital scanning a bombshell female model's head in a game and intentionally distorting their face to take away beautiful feminine features to make them ugly by design for "realism". THAT'S uncanny valley. The issue is the vast majority of AAA games coming out on XboneS and PS5 is that they all look like PS3 games. Yes, we're 2 gens ahead of PS3 and 360, but it looks like the graphics never changed or improved since the PS3 era. They just "uprezzed" those graphics and made them cleaner and clearer, from 720p/30fps to 4k/30fps. They all just look like glorified PS3 games! LITERALLY NOTHING CHANGED except the politics and ideologies around certain video game tropes, making video games far worse than they were 10-15 years ago. The reason AA games are doing much better is because no one cares about graphics any more. People see a AAA $70 game and see a AA $30-$40 game side by side and notice the graphics aren't different so they wisely choose the cheapest game for the same experience!

I will go with No Tiers of Disney+. Disney in general can get bent for all I care.

I think Lion King 2 Simba's pride was a better movie than the first one it just the animation and art wasn't as good as the original. but ultimately those original two movies are the only things that matter everything else is either non-canonical spin-offs or crap Remake.

The size of my backlog alone has me set for the next 2 console generations. AAA gaming can quietly disappear.

Mufasa is Modern DisneyTM doing what it does best. According to the teaser Mufasa is a pretender to the throne. This means Scar was just 'misunderstood' when he moved to end that bloodline. Scar will now take his place next to the likes of Cruella De Ville and Maleficent.

7:17 EXACT reason why I believe Live Action Animes always fail!! There’s a reason it’s in an anime format, to convey and express things that cannot be conveyed in reality! That’s the whole point! And these dummies think they can flip the equation on its head and create a masterpiece even better than the original 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ The only Live Action Anime I’ve heard that was somewhat successful was One Piece, but still even if it’s successful it still doesn’t beat the depth and full story of the original anime/manga.

It's not surprising their business decision is a poor one. The Disney company is Bob Iger at this point, and he's going to do whatever it takes to make himself look good. He's on borrowed time, but that doesn't really matter.

My favorite Thor outing was seeing him in Adventures in Babysitting.

I do not get Disney at all, why do they keep celebrating monarchy, when hundreds of thousands who fought for democracy, died fighting it and Disney turns around and celebrates it, in a Democracy, what the hell is going on at Disney. I really don't see the point of Disney making live action versions of their animal-led animated films, since the characters have to be CGI'ed anyway. And the Mufasa film will likely look even more "soulless" than Favreau's Lion King since, unlike Favreau, Barry Jenkins has never worked with CGI. Also, speaking of remakes Disney should drop if this fails, one should be "Bambi"- as, like with "Mufasa", it will be a CGI remake with animals that is to be directed by a CGI newbie (Sarah Polley).

This is exactly why Netflix decided to post their profit instead of subscriber numbers. Disney are always figuring out ways to inflate their subs. I am pretty sure they fix up the earnings a bit too but if they do it too much, they would instead show how badly Star wars and Marvel are doing. They probably try to charge whatever they can from their parks who still makes money (and besides some of their hotels really are their only thing that earns them money by now).
