- They're doing a great job telling Doctor Who fans NOT to watch the new Doctor Who series on Disney Plus. After making comments about "white mediocrity," new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa now says fans who aren't on board with the changes should "stop watching" and go "touch grass." And showrunner RTD has seemingly been replaced with a Current Year podperson who won't stop going on about politics. Fun times.

Explicitly not, as per #4 and #10. They are clear there is no relationship between "companion". The doctor is way, way too old compared to them, they're like children he tries to protect and teach a thing or two to.
I think sexuality could have been a part of Doctor Who if the original writers thought to take it there, but in this case it's basically people who want to appropriate the name and strength of the IP to create self inserts of themselves in the fashion of a beloved IP cos they're narcissists
Sexuality is absolutely a concept that could be tackled in a Dr Who episode. It woulda been interesting to watch Matt Smith, the doc with the least masculine presence, fighting a succubi or something that weaponises sexuality. It's odd that it becomes the overarching theme when you put a guy who predominantly tells stories about gay sexuality in charge though.
Nothing can save the Doctor Who franchise at this point expect a complete hard reset.

It is the deepest irony that we all criticize social media ON social media! But the truth is when you communicate with people in the real world you find that there is far less of a pro-woke consensus than the internet would lead you to believe; the biggest spike in rapid onset gender dysphoria was during lockdown when people were forced to be permanently online, so the idea that we would all buy in to the agenda if we just "touched grass" is the opposite of what is true.

Attacking the fans is the greatest cowardice an actor could do to the fans who were and are in the Show's darkest moments. I'm Brazilian, but I'm a big fan of Doctor Who, and Ncuti Gatwa along with Russel T. Davis ended up destroying this show for me, and that's sad, because I love this franchise so much!
not only that but the tactic of attacking fans to try to "change behavior" no longer works as successfully. its no longer 2016 and he cant just Frosk his way to better ratings.
I just want to follow up by saying you lasted longer then me. I left during the chimbal era because of the "timeless child". Im also a huge fan and have been since the 2005 reboot started. But I could not condone butchering not only the reboot lore but the original lore (eg 50+ years worth of lore) for something that just felt like a kneejerk retcon virtue signal.

But for me this show ended at the age of Capaldi , it was still good there, at the age of Chrisbinall things got completely out of control with Timeless children, and it started to become intolerable to watch this show.
What remains for me are the good memories of when the series was incredible and very enjoyable to follow, as well as other franchises like Star Wars, Marvel, Lord of the Rings.
I’d take Colin Baker and his technicolor time coat over this load! He had some amazing episodes.

in the beginning of this whole thing I just thought it was a bad case of incompetence (eg ok we got a bad movie because the studio chose an activist accidently) but now i see it for what it really is: "malice". In a suprisingly large number of cases they hire people who have no clue or actively dislike the source material to work on these movies/tvshows/video games.

What's weird is it never did. Not once. I don't get why from a financial standpoint they keep doing it. I work in marketing and if I did this I'd rightfully lose my job.
it only worked back around 2014-2018 when it had some kind of moral baring (eg sticking it to the opposing side) feeling to it. However, even then its ability to work was very spotty and relied heavily upon the observers own morals and leanings.

Hi from the UK. Where we lead, the US of A follows :) . Doctor who died over here 2 years ago really, even Tennant couldn't save it. And now some non-entity of an actor gets a break not through his talent, but because of his colour and sexuality before gloriously ending his career and any hope of ever reinventing the Doctor. When the actors in these productions are so emboldened to fire off at the fans like this, saying the exact specific things that will stir people up, instead of expressing gratitude for being offered the role, then it's plainly obvious there is more to this than simple diversity and inclusion and bad writing. @@NoahGooder I actually haven't seen that episode I've seen everything up till blond lady showed up then I kind of stopped watching. I remember so many negative videos about it at the time how it was super awful and an insult to doctor who.
@@Vasher-The-Destroyer ah you were smarter then me. I went into the jodie season expecting good and then i was willing to accept a very mid season once i knew the quality wasnt there, and finally I completely gave up once "timeless child" dropped.
The TLDR: the episodes more or less kneecapped the origin story of dr who for a virtue signal moment.
I also honestly wouldnt put it past them if they did it as possibly a kneejerk reaction to the fact that the jodie season wasnt getting the same level of traction as the previous doctors.
We are told it was not made for us, then asked why didn't you watch it.
