Everyone owes scrappy doo an apology....and give him a medal
Scrappy my MVP.
I never understood why anybody hated him.
I agree. For the longest time, Scrappy gets A lot of flack for bringing the show down, but Mark Evanier came up with him to bring new life to the show because it was getting stale by that point. Was he annoying? yes, but when used right, he can be pretty helpful.
It's like how the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy was redeemed by the Sequel Trilogy.
Not really. I still don't like him, he's just not as bad as this crap.
Scrappy killed Velma... he was the true hero all along.
But that was in vain as Velma’s a spirit now.

@@SlyCooper1920 True. But the ending of Season 2 should have had the Ghost Busters seal up Velma’s ghost so we won’t have a season 3.

Mindy Kaling did something impressive. She got everyone to agree that her show is still awful.
well, what do you expect from someone who admitted to be a sociopath publicly on twitter and then deleted said tweet when the Velma shitstorm kept growing?
she actually did something great by uniting everyone, liberals and conservatives, under one flag and address her as public enemy no.1

They cancelled Venture Brothers, but gave that shit two seasons. Sheesh.
But what about the movie?
@@samflood5631 pretty sure that was done a long with the other movies for classic adult swim because max can see viewership numbers so it was pretty an easy win.

The only positive takeaway here is that Scrappy Doo killed Velma. So thanks Scrappy, perhaps we judged too harshly.
But Velma’s spirit lives on. Unless the Ghost Busters capture her, we’re all doomed for a third season of this disaster.
@@samflood5631 I think we need more than just the Ghost Busters, but an entire exorcist team.

The irony is that Scrappy is arguably the best character of the reboot, due to him being the one who killed Velma, (AKA "The Scrappy" of the series).
Has the day come where the infamous Scrappy has been "Rescued from the Scrappy Heap"?
I mean it really says something about a show when you hate the characters so much that watching them die is the most satisfying part. Honestly intentional or not Scrappy taken out Velma is probably the absolute best ending possible. Hopefully that was the intention all along because I really want to see this series die now. I have a feeling Mindy did this on purpose to push an agenda and division, and she’s trying to get a rise out of fans
It's a fan fic writer that never watched the show but liked one character, not the actual character, or the look of the character but rather the idea of the role of being "the smart one" and wrote a narcissistic self centered fic based on them being in the role of the character.
The turn the Hex girls into The Meth girls
yeah "modern" takes like the live action and this take the "drug" metaphors too far.... some of what these "writers" think are coded drug references actually AREN'T. Thorn Dusk and Luna's "magic" ritual was just inhaling mint extract... they weren't even trying to get high... it was a sort of vocal chord therapy akin to rubbing lotion on your skin.
Ok, my head canon is that Thorn actually does have some tiny bit of magic power to make it work right, but... that's not really officially true.
The ending was "spoiled" and I believe it. Disparu's review of Episode 1 was fun and honestly, I was trying to figure out why Daphne had a picture of a woman playing field hockey poster on her wall. Like... field hockey? Most people in the US don't even know what that is.
It's a lesbian thing. That's why she has a field hockey player poster.
I can confirm American's do not hockey is played anywhere other than ice rinks and suburban streets
Now I'm GLAD Scooby wasn't in the show; they would've ruined him!
If Scrappy-Doo can wreck Velma, just imagine what Scooby-Doo would do.
If they somehow do bring in Scooby. Just have it be the last scene of the show. Like have Norville pick him up from the streets or something. Or a dog shelter.
In The Office, Mindy was always written to be the vapid butt of the joke. In everything post-Office, Mindy's character was changed to be an Indian Manic Pixie Girl.

@@Xbalanque84 So true. The Enlightenment just threw a flimsy tarp over the Dark Ages, which is still alive and well inside the human soul, and which is tired of playing pretend.
@@rclaws3230
Actually, the narrative of the "Dark Ages" was invented almost entirely from whole cloth by the "luminaries" of the French "Enlightenment." Atheism quickly became not just a personal/philosophical outlook, but a political affiliation as the new secular humanist movement sought to forge a new clerisy-based state religion (obviously, curated by enlightened philosopher lords, ie them); said religion would later see test implementation on a grand scale during the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror.
In what would later lay the foundation for Marxist philosophy, the Philosophes decided to selectively rewrite history in an attempt to demonize the Catholic Church (which, to be fair, were grossly corrupt at that point in French history). Conveniently for them, archeology was in its infancy, many records had been lost or misplaced over the years, and this left them with major blank spaces in medieval records, most notably in following the Black Death. Based on this Rousseau and his peers crafted a narrative that blamed this apparent lack of scholarship on intellectual persecution by the Church, embellished further by highlighting the major technological and intellectual advances of the Renaissance as being the result of pushback against Church persecution (e.g. Galileo, who _wasn't_ actually put under house arrest for the "heresy" of heliocentrism).
Unfortunately for this narrative, in the centuries since, archeology and examination of monastic libraries ihave found that medieval history is ripe with technological innovation, invention, philosophy, and the precursors of the natural sciences, _all pursued, recorded, and/or preserved by Christian monasteries._ Even the apparent societal decline at the end of Imperial Rome and the uptick of the Renaissance were mostly illusory. Based on the archeological recirds, in both instances, the transition between eras was fairly smooth. Rome didn't "fall" so much as decentralized its authority among the newly Christianized kingdoms somewhat (though all ultimately looked to Rome as a source of political legitimacy). The Black Death hit Europe at a time when the continent was extremely overpopulated, and consequently more agricultural land was devoted explicitly to base subsistence farming; in the depopulation that followed the plague, more land was opened up for livestock grazing and cultivation of what had previously been luxury crops (e.g. apples).
Even the Crusades were the measured, _voluntary_ response of a handful of knightly orders (and over the protestations of much of the Roman Catholic Church, most notably over issues of cost) to over a century of repeated desecration of Christian holy sites in Palestine (most notably by the Mad Caliph of Cairo), continuous depredations on traveling pilgrims to the Holy Land (many volunteers having been victims firsthand), and repeated calls for aid from a besieged Constantinople, all at the hands by Islamic rulers in the region and the Seljuk Turks in particular. But rather than treat this complex period of history with the respect and gravity it deserves, the Philosophes saw only a means to screw over their political opponents. We are all still feeling the aftereffects of their historical sophistry.
TL;DR The Dark Ages are a myth concocted by Enlightenment thinkers for the pettiest personal expediencies imaginable.

@@CubeytheawesomeWell now even the haters must love him.
He heroically redeemed himself getting rid of velma, only to pay the Ultimate price for his service😂
@@Cubeytheawesome He was created to bring back viewers to the show. But got over exposed. Many adults and teens watching the show found him annoying and stupid. So when the live action movie was made, the writer made Scrappy a villain, because he hated Scrappy. This started the hate of the character to the point he was never used again except for throwaway gags. Until Velma decides to ride on the idea of everyone hating Scrappy and made him a monster. Their mistake was having him kill Velma. Cause now even those who hated him, love him.
An adult Scooby-Doo series with the Scoody gang solving murders and real ghosts in it would be cool
Surprised the CW didn't try to do that or if they did it was probably rejected.
First appearance of The Hex Girls was in Witch's Ghost.
We judged Scrappy too harshly.
well tbh he was the most annoying thing imaginable until velma existed. I dont think any of us thought something would top scrappy.
It's funny how, over the years, the whole internet has collectively agreed that spoilers are bad.....except when it comes to crap like this! It's like "nah, no-one is watching this shite. Spoil away! No-one cares!"
Scooby Doo was, like, a massive part of my childhood. i have so many of the movies, i have a bunch of the books, my first dog was named Daphne. i........i love Scooby Doo and everyone, even extended family, know that. so this.......thing that they call a show........ i was angry. i was very angry. now i'm just indifferent. i feel nothing. and so long as Warner is gonna keep disrespecting this IP, they'll have nothing from my bank account. if i want Scooby Doo content, i'll go back and watch the old stuff.
In Canada, Velma is on basic cable (Much, formerly Muchmusic) and I refuse to even hate watch it on there.
I feel for every Canadian who has to suffer through this show.
@@samflood5631 Yeah.
As if being subjected to 'Robyn Hood' wasn't horrible enough, now they have to deal with this crap!
If it doesn't end with fake Velma taking a Curt Cobain to the face, then I don't care.
Well, what do you know.
@@Attmay lol wut?
@@Attmay"Hate speech" against a fictional character...?
You're ridiculous.
@@marhawkman303 He's a pitiful troll who loves pretending that 'Velma' is the greatest show in existence.
@@Attmay Enter 'Velma's Bizarre Adventure' as a CZcams search term. It'll lead you to a parody video which is hysterical and quite satisfying to watch.
They need to do a tax ride off on this and delete it from existence. It’s offensive and brand damaging.
I had completely forgotten about that episode of Star Trek until you mentioned it, now I'm having flash backs like a PTSD war veteran. Thanks Clownfish.
4:45 So, the hex girls got sweet babified.
There’s another franchise destroyed.
4:40 The Hex Girls are Hott and Mindy Kaling is Nott. That's why they did that to them (Hex Girls).
Exactly! Mindy Kaling is just jealous, insecure, and bitter because The Hex Girls are better and cooler than her.
They had balls to release the second season of this show... guess they'd rather weather the storm and cash in the tax credit than save face and reputation by NOT airing it... I mean what little face and reputation they had left.
Swat Kats. Wow, completely forgot about that show.
" Old Cartoon Network and Adult Swim" knew how to have fun with the "Hanna Barbera" source material.
Whoever is at the wheel these days must have some serious hate towards the old shows/ humor in general....and themselves.
whats one of your favorite hanna barbera edits? mines possibly harvey birdman attorney at law
@@NoahGooder The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy ..with Fred Flintstone.
Remember when they ruined The Banana Splits forever because they wanted to cash in on their rejected FNAF script
To be honest, we don't need a darker, more mature Scooby-Doo. Why does everything need to be so serious?
and even if we did this is not the way todo it. if they wanted todo a darker more mature version of scooby doo all they would need really do is study old shows like teen titans or Batman: The Animated Series.
Yeah there's been zero advertising for this season. The studio isn't putting any more money into it. It's done.
Honestly, I wouldn't even have known the second season is even being released if not for channels like this. YOU are their advertising. Let that sink in, clownfishies.
@@mattsutphen9233 You do realize that just because someone reviews or talks about a hated project doesn't mean it's going to get that much exposure right? This isn't some Streisand effect you think it is. Calm down
@@Saltedroastedcaramel lol I speak for myself but I doubt I'm the only one. Stop talking about it and let it go away.
@@mattsutphen9233 Well congrats on speaking for yourself. Now do yourself a favor and ignore the videos that talk about Velma
What happened to Scrappy Doo and why does Thorn look like a cavewoman?
Don’t you mean that Thorn looks like a divorced mom in her mid 40s and on drugs?
Honestly I feel like we all knew that this was coming from the fact that they literally already greenlighted it even before season one was over. Literally I don’t know who watch the show before it was put on the platform but I feel like they just did it just to get the office check to just shut up and just get it over with because this was not it.
I also want to add that the man the myth the legend the man who made Hanna-Barbera Studios it’s probably turning in his grave right now by the fact that Velma was even a thing
People on Twitter(X) celebrated that version of Velma's death. And to be honest, it is funny to see that out of all the things that brought a few people on that site was this.
So I know why S2 ends this way. So it can fully divest from any SD canon and be 'ended'. They saw that this was a sh!tshow and probably hastily rewrote the season finale to be a series one.
Would not shock me if that is how events went down.
They dragged poor Jen Hale into this.
Don’t forget TJ Miller.
Sweet Jennifer Hale would have been so ashamed if she saw what they did to one of her most iconic characters in animation history.
I agree that a Riverdale-like show would have worked better than this crap. Scooby deserved better.
Looks at 1999 Thorn: Such an cute looking gothic girl. 🥰
Looks at 2024 Thorn: AHHHH!! Quick! Kill it with holy water!! Where's my crucifix?! 😨😱
People when they see Scrappy kill Velma: Perhaps I treated you too harshly.
I wish people would stop talking about this show already. The most potent weapon you can wield against it is irrelevance.
that or the ba sing se weapon
@@NoahGooder A good one, but I don't think its owners will lend it to me.
I think season 2 is just the second half of season 1. They split the season so as to say the show has two seasons when it's just one season.
And let it stay that way. I was out the first episode
@@TheDumontShow I was out the first trailer.
Scrappy died for us he was a hero I just wish we could have seen it sooner he was a good boy the bestest boy
I can't believe I got a season 2. It just seems that everyone fails upwards now.
I was talking to my dad about Scooby Natural and we both agreed that that was the best way to do a more “adult” version of Scooby Doo. That was such a fun episode of Supernatural. I also really enjoyed the fan made pilot episode. That was fun. Not perfect, but fun. I love the Scooby Doo movies too. They’re so fun!
Of course they made Velma look pretty. Velma here is literally Mindy Kaling's self insert. Also, don't forget that Mindy Kaling is a sex offender.
Also, I remember reading that the Hex Girls were originally supposed to be one off characters but people liked them so much that they made them recurring characters.
What did Mindy Kaling do as a sex offender?
@@samflood5631 Kissed a gay guy against his will and threatened to fire him if he told anyone. She literally admitted it herself on Conan show. Look it up. There are clips of it on CZcams.
@@raibyo oh yeah, I saw that. That's horrible. I feel sorry for the guy.
The spoof mystery in the Venture Bros was more tasteful than this show
Now we know either how much help Mindy Kaling needed writing for The Office or how far she has fallen in talent and capability in just a decade.
Please. Cluster-Bs (especially ones as rich and spoiled as Kaling) are black holes of talent. I'm surprised _The Office_ survived her "input."
More likely the former.
Fits well with the bell curve in the middle section: not awful when given good stuff, but also not great nor talented enough to get something good out of an awful role.
Unless they paid for more at the time this is it, no way this garbage will get any more seasons or anything.
If Velma took the face mask of Black Face Velma and went Tada,, and it ended
Scrappy is such a hero for killing Velma for good!
Can we get Zi-O to destroy Another Velma and these Another Scooby clones? He'd be doing us a favor.
You mean Kamen Rider Zi-O?
@@samflood5631Yes. Way I see it, all these characters are just Another Rider-likes that need to be stopped.
I think even heroine addicts would avoid this show.
I mentioned this in multiple other areas but if this is supposed to be a prequel, how is it that Thorn looks OLDER, is a mom and is a RETIRED band member of the Hex Girls?
