Hasbro Nopes Out of Toys? Q1 Earnings Only Slows the Bleeding!

- Hasbro's Q1 earnings report dropped this morning, and it wasn't the WORST case scenario... but they're still bleeding out. It seems like their plan going forward is to pimp out their IP to whichever licensees will pay for them. How long until they just outsource Dungeons & Dragons?

The good news, getting woke still means going broke.
I still can't believe a certain CEO (Chris Cock's) is still at Hasbro. You can literally trace most all the bad decisions and profit losses to him.
Like disney he doesn't loss anything with his golden
that isn't even his full name. He is nothing more then one of those Zuck the Cuck gen appointed Harvard weirdos, like that one at Bud Light. Dude destroyed the Wizards, is named CEO sumhow.
He's either the lesser of a second evil or he knows where the bodies are buried, metaphorically and literally.
Lol best last name ever!
The biggest problem is there to high on there products.
Rot In Piss, Hasbro.
Once adored your products, but now like so many companies I'm now apathetic.
High five to that
now they are HasNoBro
They should send out the Pinkertons to find their lost profits.😏
Probably wouldn't have to look very much further than Mr. Cocks's office for the reasons why things are so bad.
@@horusfalcon@wotaj stop guys I can't breathe 💀💀💀
kremzeek. Nice.
If a toy company is "noping" out of toys, then what exactly does it make now?
Themselves look bad, that's what they make now
Perhaps they keep the rights but outsource everything. Or create a subsidiary that holds the IP and outsources the toys.
Probably something what Disney aspires to be: an IP and franchise holder, but has subsidiaries that do all the hard work for them.
DEI dreams and sparkles.
Disapointment
Like amputating one's own two legs to lose weight and thus run faster in a race.
Hey, Poor Lil Tink Tink was faster than everyone else who had bio legs when he raced so clearly it works.
wait a minute. You both make REALLY good points. Yeah the analogy is good af but it could possibly be true that someone with two artificial legs only won because they had less weight making them run faster… hmmmmm
@@itariwasashi1645 The muscles in the leg provide more power benefit than the weight reduction from cutting them off.
It doesn't matter if a company is publicly or not.
All companies need to be profitable.
There is no excuse for Hasbro and Disney chasing away their customers.
It's an agenda.
Own nothing and be happy
There's a difference between steady profits and always increasing profits. Its kinda dumb to always expect it to climb. But if it stays even and pays dividends, its all good.
@@callak_9974 One problem with profits remaining steady is inflation eats into it and those steady profits end up losing vlue over time.
However, some "investors" have unrealistic expectations of growth rates.
Some industries cannot reasonably be expected to have astronomical growth. It is also impossible for any company or industry to constantly have astronomical growth.
Some ridiculous people trying to sound smart some are just plain stupid and others are malicious, pretend to want higher growth while they know it is not reasonable or sustainable. These people are intentionally trying to destroy the companies.
It's absolutely unreal that Hasbro, a toy company, can't make good quality toys.
Some people at Hasbro are doing funny things with the accounting and finances there.
It has also happened to Nike as well. DEI is all about doing mediocrity, people still don't get that part. DEI is making every thing mediocre.
@@Parlimant_Strifey They put the letters in a different order thinking that no one would notice.
They put the letters as D-E-I, but it's easy to see they really mean D-I-E.
Hasbro woked DnD and customers NOPED on them. Buh bye Hasbro.
what?
English please

Oh no! The wOkE boogieman! 😂
Truthfully, I think the OGL debacle is what hurt them first. Also Magic has been slapped pretty hard. That started with overproducing cards and the $1400+ cards that were ever printed once. Hasbro also has taken a massive dip because of going cheaper on parts, but also because hardly any of their stuff is moving. Let’s not forget the HasLab Reva lightsaber failure. Now, yes they have started to become limp-dick by basically eliminating anything that could be considered evil alignment or anything that could be considered as such because “villains can’t just be evil bastards” these days. Plus a few other things. This might clarify things for the others in here as well.
@@doomkrieg3817I knew that MTG had gone woke when Magic content creators started using pronouns, but it started before that, when they retconned a legendary character from the Tarkir block to be "trans",that pretty much destroyed the hobby for me. 👍
"There's a big difference between 'mostly dead,' and 'all dead."
Except Miracle Max ain’t resurrecting this corpse of a company.
Ah, so my house is still on fire, but it's not a chemical fire like I was afraid of, it's just a boring old regular fire. What a relief.
I stopped playing Magic when they made freaking Aragorn a basketballer; then I dropped D&D when they stopped using the word "race" because it was discriminatory or something. A boycott is the only way forward.
Same. So there’s two of us at least.
@@b.o.4492 We're a legion already, and WotC is cooked already.
I stopped playing Magic when they remade Antiquities because it wasn't gay or black enough. And haven't bought any D&D since 3rd edition. Yet still play every Friday night. Nobody needs Hasbeen to play D&D.
@@stoopidpursun8140 antiquities I saw that in my LGS when it came out. Didn’t buy any packs.
Rumor has it even Ollie's is tired of Hasbro.
I will never understand how someone can lose a company billions and get to keep their job. This timeline is wild.
Welcome to affirmative action clown world.
It's a cult. The executive circle is a cult and they blame any failure of the cult members on the rest of the world. That Simpson clip sums up their cult: czcams.com/video/HMqZ2PPOLik/video.html
Hasbro could have had a great line of action figures and monster based on D&D.
Hasbro deliverately did a poor job on their joke of an effort in 2023.
What’s surprising is there top toy lines have great rpg lines with essence 20 and not Wotc
No kidding the feet of the figures are assembled incorrectly on the one figure I bought and it cannot even stand.
@@saimaidar9417 We can expect the same unacceptably poor effort in everything that Hasbro does from now on.
It's bad enough that Hasbro wants to get out of the toy business and move into the video game business.
Hasbro didn't even have enough respect for the customers to do a good job on the last action figures they made.
Anyone who trusts Hasbro and any of its future products and services is a fool!
Hasbro was only profitable this quarter because they laid off a bunch of people. They're still not out of the woods yet.
BTW, I knew you 2 would cover this:)
I am happy that Hasbro stockholders are losing their money. They paid for it by ruining their Franchise for DEI.
One example is “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” is still not a woke show, all of the ponies on the show were not woke.
@Musicradio77Network MLP: Friendship is Magic was very much a woke show the fuck are you talking about? I remember twitter freaking out when the show confirmed two female ponies were dating lol
If the leadership at Hasbro wanted to be a game company or a rights holder then the leadership should have left Hasbro and joined another company that already did what they wanted to do.
Taking Hasbro out of toys is a wasteful and stupid decision.
Well they have bandai namco for transformers games, dragonball z games, gundam games, and several other titles
I see Hasbro also licensing board games out to Winning Games where they put out “Monopoly” and “Scrabble”. I saw them at a toy store earlier today.
They are indeed turning the business around.
Previously it was growing and profitable and they've turned into declining and un-profitability.
Can't believe they got rid of the sexy maid from Clue
The Peppa Pig thing is disturbing if you know pork is far and away the most popular meat in China. It's such a big deal, China has been buying up American pork producers to ensure a supply of meat. Guaranteed China is not looking at Peppa without a food angle. If the official park doesn't do it, somebody nearby will have it on a menu.
China is where the characters from “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” became popular there, but the Peppa Pig theme park is going to be in China.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the company needs to just change their name to “Hasbeen” smh
The original Clue movie was great and still holds up.
There is no point in watching a new Clue movie made today.
"You lure men to their deaths like spiders with flies!"
"Flies are where men are most vulnerable."
"That's right!"
"Is there a little lady's room around here?"
"Oui oui, madam."
"No, just need to powder my nose."
It’s funny, because it bombed when it first came out. Time has been kind to it.
@@MasterJediDude I remember seeing it in the theater with my family. At the time people could only see one out of three possible endings per showing.
The DVD has all three endings one after another.
Leslie Ann Warren was the best part lol.
@@hammertronactionfigures2426 that’s right, it was random depending on where you saw it. Quite clever for the time.
And Leslie Anne Warren was about to spill out of her dress. 👗
Hasbro: “We want to be anything BUT a toy company!” 🤑
Also Hasbro: “Where did all the money go???” 😱
Hasbro seemed to rely on WOTC to an extreme degree.
WOTC was obscuring the parts of Hasbro that were floundering
A toy company not making toys? What's next? A dairy farm that doesn't produce milk?
We're SO GOOD at what we do that we want someone else to do it for us!
Look over there....a squirrel!
That’s Business News Journalism. Reduce Earnings Expectations so low you can beat them even when you preform Horrible. They are in the business of selling you stock for the advertising companies on their shows/sites.
Too many ips and not enough ideas in house.
Hasbro is going to be bought up.
Hasbro had to devalue itself first so it could be bought on the cheap.
Thats what I thought about Disney but they are still independent.
@@andrew8168 Everyone is watching them too closely right now.
They'll wait a while longer and devalue themselves some more.
They'll sell themselves on the cheap when everyone is distracted by something else.
I call dibs on MLP!
For reasons……
Not WORST scenario... But will Hasbro pull Iger's classic move?
Open a Transformers LARPing hotel at $3000 a night?
The biggest thing no one seems to be talking about is the fact that toy companies are going to keep bleeding money in account of thanks to cultural, societal, ideological, and various personal issues the amount of people having kids/amount of families is decreasing. Less of a market to sell the products period. That's completely aside from the batshit business choices that Hasbro and companies they've partnered with have made.
Imagine Hasbro would outsource their executive leadership, i mean they don't want to do anything themselves so they don't need agency.
Why no more intro music? 😢
It's too chinese-y.
I like it better without the intro.
Brian Goldner was Hasbro. They destroyed his legacy...
A nerf foam covered aluminum baseball bat. Hasbro airs commercials showing children that brutalize one another.
"Its safe, nerf safe!"
That’s what you get when you have company greed nowadays they basically use cheaper material and up charge the price so they could get more money in their bonuses or in their paychecks or a lot of people to get more money in their paychecks and bonuses
Sadly modern day kids just aren't that interested in toys. When I was a kid before I phones and the Internet its all we had!!
I mean that’s true but it doesn’t help toys have been cheapened out and Hasbro is being run by hacks.
They outsourced the potato head toys to China and became riceball head.
In Edmonton, Toys R Us recently replaced the Hasbro section with a mini HMV Records. Mind blown.
Keon: I think this thing happened a few weeks ago... *flashbacks to 8 years ago*
and MLP G5 is currently flooding Dollarama here in Canda at under $5 pricing. Walmart wasn't even putting them in their discount bins in the dark part of the stores.
I saw a few G5 MLP stuff at Little Pickles in Red Hook, NY yesterday, and I don’t get it.
At least the designs look cool.
Plus I do like Izzy
Even the Embracer Group doesn't want to be like the Embracer Group!
Ngl as a Transformers fan I've been quite fine with them remaking toys of older shows and comics, especially for someone in my 20s like me who wasn't able to take full advantage/buy the toys when they first came out with either the show or movie they are tied to.
Buy the Masterpiece Jetfire. They are also re-releasing MP-44 (Masterpiece Optimus Prime) but in the toy colors instead of the cartoon colors. If you want to see these guys stay around, go for the quality stuff. Also I preordered Studio Series 86 (1986 animated G1 Trasnformers movie) Swoop recently. I finally have my Dinobat team complete. The best way to help these companies is to preorder your toys so they know how many to make and don't overproduce too many toys and stuck with unsold stock. It minimises risk.
As someone who had Diaclone before it was Transformers, one of the best things about those toys was the quality plastics and die cast work. Takara was making very good stuff, selling them to Hasbro and still managed to sell for under $20 at retail. Even with inflation and other costs, they could still make toys like that. Might sell for higher but the quality would be worth it. They choose to not do so. They choose to make junk. I choose to not buy it.
"success through licensing"
time for third party to revisit 'chug' scale Transformers
A toy company not making toys. How sad. But if they’re not going to take it seriously they should outsource.
It's so sad to see what Hasbro has become.
I guess Hasbro is truly dead now
Not yet, but it does have a severe case of the plague and the prognosis isn't looking good. Chris Cocks is trying the classic bloodletting method at the moment.
The patient can still be saved but the doctor seems to have gone to that medical school where the DEI teacher complains about "white mans medicine" that was in media yesterday (she also cheated to her own grade and asked her students to lie on the floor and contact the earth mother).
So yeah, Hasbro is pretty much doomed but it will be a slow and painful death over a few years.
Hasbro ain’t dead yet!
@@Musicradio77NetworkNo but it will be if some extensive triage isn't performed ASAFP,
otherwise it's curtains for the patient. 🤨
From a machinists perspective, this makes perfect sense to me. I know it wasn't long ago that Bandai had shut down their entire production to redo and expand their press floor.
Even at the shop I work at we outsource to other companies to build the molds because there is only so much we can do in our shop.
This is what happens when private equity takes control of your genre.
Toys are toys. But private cares about owning the world. Not toys
It sounds like they're a company in search of anything that'll stick to the wall.
Maybe they should reissue their best Transformers that were impossible to get because of their limited stock. People selling Armada Optimus Prime at twice the retail.
I'm so confused that hasbro isn't going to sell their own toys anymore
Happiness is hearing: "I am here with Geeky Sparkles".
iirc for a like 3 months a year or so ago, Peppa Pig was meme'd massively over the 'net and I honestly don't remember why. I suppose Hasbro thought that memes equals Profits, forgetting the horrific lesson learned by Morbius' run in the cinemas, as after the initial failed run, the movie was meme'd on hard, then the studios thought that the memes meant that there was an audience, so they released again...only to fail harder. Chasing trends never ends well for these studios and they seem to never learn this easy lesson.
The only Transformers I pick up now are the older second hand toys or from other companies...
Got a couple X-men 97 figures at Walmart on clearance today, finally a reasonable price.
Havent thought of hasbro as quality in a long time. The only thing I see is cheap 5$ candy land/chutes and ladders during black friday.
has bro licencing

If you want a fun kick out of it. Magic actually lost money the first quarter.Their second set of the year was one of the worst selling sets in history. The only reason they are showing the slight increase was they included the first Q2 set in the calculations. They were able to do this because of some obscure shipping rule where they shipped it to distributers earlier so they could claim it for the quarter even though consumers couldn't get it until Q2. I also assure you they will try to include that same set in the Q2 numbers when they do it.
Where are you getting confirmation im regards to the sales of Murders in order to call it the "worst set sold in history" considering thats quite the accomplishment from past sets especially the mid 2000s. As far as I recalled, the Q1 earnings left very little detail on how Murders did.
Hasbro hasn't produced anything in the last 30 years that I would have bought.
While on the other side of the world bandai, kotobukiya volks, freeing, binding, good smile company and many more still doing well
Peppa Pig for XI Jinpig? They should open a Winnie the Pooh park!!
LOLz. Hasbro needs to release a limited edition Cara Dune action figure . . .
Down with Hasbro
Oh no, who os going to make unsellable toys now?
Hasbro you should take a LONG look at your recent Clue game if you wanna see what's wrong with your company.
Strength of their brands... in thrift stores and dollar stores probably.
Heroscape looking fantastic.
MtG is basically printing money.
There are a lot of potential for earnings (also "monopoly deal" is monopoly, except good)
So mismanagement is really the big risk
"Reimagine"is code word for"less or no white people" "less or no straight people"or"less or no men".
"you Are a toy!!!! comapny " - Woody
They should push Ms Monopoly harder...they need no man over at Hasbro. Push the Ms. stuff harder.....
This is rough
What I don’t like about playmates having Power Rangers now is that I highly doubt they’ll just continue the Lightning Collection. I’ve been collecting that for quite some time, and Playmates are probably going to restart everything from the beginning. I don’t want to recollect the same characters over and over again. There’s stuff I want that Hasbro didn’t get to.
I see your point, the My Little Pony toys stopped being good after Twilight became an Alicorn, sure there were some good stuff, but afterwards it dropped in quality. Heck My Little Pony as a media stopped being good when G5 came out, they should have kept the original g4 toys, hopefully basic fun rerelease them, the main six, a standing up Spike and already released characters and make more characters like Big Macintosh, Discord, Bon Bon, Original characters and just everyone from the show.
I noticed, but he doesn't have any sense of numbers, either.
Hasbro are outsourcing their toys likely due to all the woke and dei situation that’s going on. It is just to play safe just in case if there is a backlash. They can just say that the outsource company screwed up and not take the hit.
lol genuinely appreciate the translation for this alien-ass language they're using
Drives themselves out of toys
Ahhh! no intro music. I am confused and frightened! 😵💫
Dont forget hasbro has bandai namco making their transformers games, dragon ball z games, gundam games and several others
I know what I said on a video you guys made last week about Hasbro and Transformers. I said I wouldn’t buy the Transformers mask, but I ended up buying it from Ross.
I feel bad about Hasbro going under. Don't get me wrong, I haven't bought toys since dino thunder was on the shelves, but this company has made so many bad decisions and it hurts me to see it going under.
Remember! Woke = Progressive politics.
woke is a slang term this is all political whether we like it not.
8:15 okay I don’t want to be a Hasbro shill but the new Armada Prime is 100% better than the original toy from 20 years ago. While they are more expensive the commander class toys are the best tf toys we’ve gotten. But they are mainly for older collectors.
I am tending to agree that Hasbro going to outsource as much as possible to cut operating costs. I just wonder what other IP’s they will sell to help with 2025-26 revenue ?
So Hasbro will now specialize in money laundering? Is that how most other woke companies like Disney and Marvel make money nowadays?
Yeah some great choices have been made. All is fine, nothing to see here!
Hiya toys already has the gi joe 1/18 license. Major bludd, and baroness look great.
I always found Hiya to be too fragile. I know they're fir collectors but I've had to fix one of their Predators that had an arm snap.
They did outsource gi Joe to super7
I would support Tomy, Kotobukiya, and Good Smile instead.
I’ll support Hasbro.
Let’s replace the CEO with an AI, it could not be worse.
Just tell it to approve anything the majority of consumers enjoy.
That would result in success for basically anyone.
looking ahead Being the next Disney
Wow no wonder they canceled the continuation of the mpm series transformers.
Hasbro... or Hasbin ?
Millennials don't have kids so no need for toys
I'm not surprised hasbro is down tbh only thing I buy from them is GI Joe figures and some vehicles (the target ones) but even then it's hard to find alot of places by me that has new stocks. I will say it's funny ya brought hot wheels cause I'd argue those are iffy now a days with quality control yet matchbox who's owned by Mattel sometimes their cars or players are better then modern hot wheels stuff
