It feels so weird seeing people talk about MeTV in the year 2024 since I grew up with it almost always on. When I'd spend the day with my grandparents and Noggin went off the air for the night or I was busy playing outside, they always put on MeTV. They're practically carrying Television at this point and still go out of their way to make neat bumpers for their shows. They know their audience and cater to them well, (at least according to my grandparents who have been watching MeTV since its launch.) My grandparents watched Boomerang a lot when they realized CN moved the old cartoons to their boomerang block, so I imagine they're pretty stoked about this since they're fans of cartoons.

It is a shame and sad to see how not just cartoons but also animated movies had regressed so much over the years along with just tv in general compared to the tv i used to watch as a kid. Back then you had so much variety like "i'm naming these on top of my head from what i can remember" Freakazoid, Thundercats, Yogi Bear, Twinkle "or Rayito" as we called it here, Widget, Mighty Morphing Power Rangers, Where in the world is Carmen San Diego, Inspector Gadget, Bobby's World, The Jetsons, Flinstones ect. When it comes to animated movies there was a charm to them that hasn't been replicated ever since like with The Iron Giant, Atlantis, Anastasia, Hercules, Beauty & The Beast, Emperor's Groove, Road to El Dorado and so on and the way it was presented was so unique from one another and had so much personality to it.
Nowadays cartoons have become just reruns after reruns and the artstyle is just more of the same with barely any noticeable changes and it's not surprising in the slightest as to why Cartoon Network has been on a downward spiral, then again it's been for years once they got rid of the variety that it once had back in the 90's to early 2000's it's not even worth watching TV in general anymore.

Canada, both Cartoon Network and Boomerang still exist. However, both channels run basically the same programming, just at at different times. Canada desperately needs MeTV Toons as there is absolutely NO classic animation older than 1990 on Canadian TV or streaming services. Even apps like Tubi and Pluto that offer some classic cartoons in the U.S., all of it is missing from the Canadian versions of these platforms. Lol cartoon network is a shell of what it once was. Cable is slowly dying. Live sports even sees the writing on the wall and is slowly moving over to streaming services. Streaming is the future of TV. Ota will survive because it's free and expanding. Cable will eventually not be around. So yeah all cable channels are slowly dying. Cartoon network hasn't produced anything good in over a decade. Same thing with Nickelodeon outside of SpongeBob. Disney hasnt had anything good for a long time. Alot of channels haven't had much good content in years. The main thing cable is good for is live sports anymore. Nothing has all live sports you want to watch in one place. Once there is a service that has all the live sports that are on cable, and is reasonably priced, then cable is dead. Sports is carrying cable right now.
