- Pixar's future may depend on whether or not 'Inside Out 2' makes bank. Projections are saying it'll do $80-110 million domestic, but even the mainstream media seems doubtful given Disney and Pixar's track record for animation lately.

They'll make it 'Woke' again.
The show runners will then insult the fans when the Negative feedback pours in.
Disney will turn off comments on the trailer.
Disney will 'PANIC' and be baffled as to why it bombed.
Rinse and repeat.
It's fake outrage from Disney. They know what they're doing.
Now it seems like they have started insulting people even before they release something (or did with Dr Who at least) and if they do that with this movie it is done.
But yeah, it will likely be bad. Their only serious chance to save Pixar is for Iger to go down on his knees to Lassiter, beg for forgiveness and hire him back to lead Pixar again.
It isn't like they have anyone talented internally they could put in charge of them after all. Moving the company could lower the cost a bit but that wouldn't solve the problem. They could can it too and move their IPs to Disney animation but same problem there, they can't make a good movie anymore either.

Disney had been pressuring Pixar to make sequels, which Lasseter was really reluctant to allow. Lasseter got fired over some dubious MeToo charges. I think he was really in Disney's way, and Disney wanted him gone.
@@chriscollins2095 I bet Disney also gaslit the masses into thinking Cars 2 was “awful” when in reality it was one of the best films ever.
@@Cubeytheawesome I think Cars 2 did so poorly because it didn't feel like a proper sequel to the first Cars movie. I think Cars fans were expecting a continuation of Lightning McQueen's racing career--a racing drama. But instead, they got Mater as Inspector Gadget stopping a terrorist. 2 is a tonal shift from one. Cars 3 actually felt more like a proper sequel to Cars.
I do think Cars 2 is good--though not great. But I think fan expectations were more a factor than anything. I guess poor marketing could have been a factor too.
Car 2 f king suck. Car 3 was better. But cars franchise have best toy sale that why it have 3 sequel beside toy story 3
If they wanted to make bank they’d pick a subject that has more universal appeal, Inside Out 2 is about a teenage girl going through puberty. It’s the same thing as Turning Red.

That's just inaccurate. Brave, Finding Dory, Onward, Turning Red, and most importantly the first Inside Out had none of these things.

They made new "emotions" when they already established that as the person grows, feelings are just combination of the existing 5. Anxiety is just fear + other emotion depending on situation.
Between no signs of any emotions beyond the five in the parents during the first movie, and even the trailer for the sequel not showing any signs of the new emotions during the one shot inside the mom's head, nothing about the premise of the movie makes any sense.
In theory anxiety is just fear showing up when you can't run from or fight what you're perceiving as danger, like having fear of a test or social situations. You go into fight or flight mode for no reason so it's a dysfunction of fear.
The writers of this movie are just showing they don't understand the real psychological theory behind the first movie which was a great way to introduce kids to science.

As for late, nearly every Pixar movie has under performed at the box office.
All the company is doing is pushing back it being eventually being folded into Walt Disney animation.
True, Pixar definitely needs a big hit. Imo it’s already a bit of a disaster for Pixar that even they think it can only be done with a sequel. It used to be that Pixar was strong on originals and that the audience would eat them up like candy.
John Lasseter was the heart of Pixar. When Disney fired him, they were probably free to start putting their own writers in place.
I saw the first Inside Out at the theaters with my wife but we will not be paying to see the sequel in theaters. Disney has burned their goodwill with me and won’t get one red cent from me.

There are some rumors that have been concerning to me, but even disregarding those, I just don't get it. Anxiety isn't an emotion, and if it is, it's just a subset of fear. You don't NEED new emotions because the five cover basically everything.
Hollywood: 'wheeee, it's the lockdowns, the pandemic'
Me: 'No, you are just making ideological humbug and hired Tumblr scriptwriters that don't know how to write a story.'
There's already so many whispers of how heavily DEI laden this is that, given the current attitude and pushback on anything DEI related, this is absolutely gonna bomb... The moment the first reviews come out saying it's "woke", the cinema's are gonna be empty... Que the usual cries about "isms" and "phobias" when people don't go and see it...
To which our reply should be unanimous and loud, Yeah So what?
They will be pushing an agenda. The preview hints Riley developing romantic feelings for the obvious gay girl (hint; her hair cut)
Let's make a checklist of everything guaranteed to be in the film. I've got the first two. The first is a rainbow flag. The second is at least one character going by they/them.
Your checklist is extremely flawed there was no rainbow flag in the movie and there is no transgender characters
I'll be honest, I tuned out when I heard the words "internal projections". If this does $30m US domestic I will be surprised.
This is another _Pitiful Pinch of Pathetic Pixar_ as well.
Never giving anything under the Disney umbrella ticket money. They made it clear, in no uncertain terms, they do not want my money.
Boycott EVERYTHING Disney until the Ostrich is FIRED!!
Globally people are just as soured on Disney as americans are so I wouldn't expect box office be particularly high. I don't see people viewing it as must see movie and rather save money and see it in D+.
I think the Age of Hollywood is Over
Wait for "Inside Out 3" Menopause.
Inside out 4: suicide
So after shitting on us for years, Disney thinks we're gonna come back to watch a sequel that no one asked for? Excuse me a moment. (Goes into another room to laugh hysterically.)
It's also the state of the economies between the movies. Shits just too expensive now to be seeing movies every weekend or even once a month. Especially when you can stream it on something a couple months later.
they even made people who watch anything become jaded. there are people in my generation who would go watch anything because really it was not about the movies it was the social aspect they liked. divisive messaging kind or tore most social groups like that apart. they either argued a bit about the message and then slowly eroded their relations ship even if they agreed or just stopped when the movie message started to dominate the social aspect the experience.
I'm actually going to the movies this afternoon. The movie I'm going to see? Alfred Hitchcocks "North by Northwest"! It's the 65th anniversary re-release just showing today and Wednesday. Fathom Events is doing well bringing the classics back to the theaters. I saw "Gone with the Wind" last month on a Sunday and the theater was packed!
Disney just needs to apologize to John Lasseter and beg him to come back, only he can turn that ship around at Pixar
Disney announcing that they need Inside Out 2 to make big money, people will now NOT go see it.😈😈😈😈
Haven't even watched the first one.
International really helped Elemental. Plus it did have legs. I think Inside Out will do well enough the first 2 weeks, unless by some miracle Garfield is amazing. But it better be good and solid because then Despicable Me opens after that, and will absolutely demolish it if is is not great. DM4 also has the advantage of being cheap and selling a lot of toys.
Why would anyone go to the movies when it will be out on D- in a month
Id seriously recommend parents wait til reviews, especially from critics that watch out for woke. It would be awkward to go opening weekend only to see the MC kissing a girl or coming out as trans.
There is no way in hell inside out to is ever going to make $100 million on opening weekend or through the entire run of the movie. Disney has destroyed its base of customers. Bob Iger in the Disney board have complete decimated their audience by not listening to them and refusing to acknowledge sanity. at this point there is no movie. There is no Disney+ show. There is no park in the entirety of Disney that can save it.
I thought I read last year inside out 2 could beat super Mario movie. I don't know that was last year I red that somewhere.
Funny thing about these forecasts for Disney: almost aol 9f them lately began trending DOWN from the initial predictions
Is the first one really THAT popular …? Here in Germany it’s one of those movies from the last years that a lot of people know but everyone basically forgot …?!
