Star Wars is dead, and KK killed it with her agenda BS
All of Lucasfilm, actually.
I believe without a shadow of a doubt, that was the plan from the get go.
"PUT A DIVERSE WOMAN IN IT! MAKE IT LAME AND GAY!"
Oh without a doubt. KK was clearly determined to destroy/undermined Star Wars as a brand.
"BuT I WaS ToLd KaThLeEn KeNnEdY WaSn'T WoKe!!!"
And they expect us to swallow that sh!t. They're just now realizing in Hollywood that woke isn't popular and are finally trying to distance themselves from it... about 8 years after it destroyed their business.
Disney StarWars isn't StarWars, StarWars was 1977-2012. Disney has the toxic touch. Kennedy has been protected and coddled like a child.

Kids don't care about star wars because:
-Parents no longer share a love for it
-The stories are not geared for kids. They try to 'elevate' and complicate them for the adult crybabies to enjoy and draw in. But those same stories confuse and go over the heads of most children
When the hard-core cosplayers say no more. You know your franchise is well and truly dead.
Yeah they didn't care about giving the middle finger to hardcore lore fans. They didn't care about casual or fans in the middle or simply care about quality. With them hating everyone that doesn't mindlessly praise them. They truly did everything in their power to drive others away. Like you think a massive company like this, would understand. This was bound to happen sooner or later, if you just treat it like a cheap cash grab with no care for quality.

Disney star wars ISN'T REAL STAR WARS. end of story
I don't consider it Canon either. Just because someone owns the brand doesn't let them decide if it is Canon or not, just if the older stuff is Canon to their newer stuff. Remember, many books by authors who do sprawling stories get 'thrown out' by the Audience outside of the Continuity (or, Canon) because they just don't fit or work.
Same with this, Disney Starwars isn't Canon to Old Starwars.
Sadly they now have George Lucas. So now dei will be Canon. Or at least endorsed by George.
@@zephodbin my mind, Chewbacca doesn’t have a Wookie family of weirdos, and Vader, dark lord of the Sith, didn’t build Threepio, and never once said “yippee!” It’s not all about Disney, and even the “legitimacy” of GL can’t be the purity test. But yes, Disney is the ultimate destructive force in the SW galaxy.

Yeah, Disney Star Wars is so "dead" that new content keeps coming out all the time... and their revenues are growing. But hey, it's "dead," right?
@@Aedryc No their revenues are not growing. Disney is losing money on everything they put out. Recent report even said guardians III lost Disney money.
@Aedryc Revenue growing? Hasbro is on the verge of bankruptcy. They refused to make toys for the Acolyte because they didn't want to lose more money. Forbes ran an article a couple of months back and did the math between the movies, toy, and theme parks Disney is about 12 billion in the hole with Star Wars.
They trashed Mara Jade and Jaina Solo for Rey Palpatine. Unforgivable
Facts
Tahiri and Tenel Ka too 😢
Even funnier. Rey Palpatine has a red haired mother. The subtext was it might be Mara Jade. Disney needed to make sure the people that cared about canon, that Luke wasnt only defeated by Palpatine. He was a cuck.
Funny thing is Mara and Jaina got black series figures and I only seen each of them once, fans certainly buy what they genuinely like.
@@StarAllKungfu They made it so Luke wasn't even cucked by Palpatine himself. He was cucked by a defective clone of Palpatine. They might as well have made Rey be born because Mara used Palpatine's jizz sock to masturbate with because Luke couldn't get it up.
Adrienne Curry is not just a cosplayer, she is a former model and reality TV star who has been calling out Hollywood bs
Yep. She even called out celebrities using the geek Fandom for their own benefit.
came here to say the same thing,
My personal anecdote: the town I live in does a big 4th of July parade every year. One of the best parts of each parade was the army of Star Wars cosplayers. Used to be dozens strong, dressed in incredibly well-done costumes. Kids loved it, adults loved it. Big crowd pleaser.
Each year since Disney's acquisition, the army has been smaller. In 2023, it was less than a half dozen individuals... and their energy was off. They seemed dejected, and seeing them elicited mumbles from the crowd. Mumbles that I found very similar to my own views. Disney has been running this franchise into the ground for a decade.
Bad writing, bad CGI, bad choreography, too many reshoots, an utter lack of respect for legacy characters, and so on. George Lucas kept toys on the shelves for decades. Under Disney, Star Wars is down to a dozen over-priced lightsabers and some dusty action figures of either Pedro Pascal's Mandalorian or Grogu. The few times I will myself into the toy aisle out of curiosity, I wince. "How could this have happened? How could they do so much damage in so little time?"
It all makes me very sad. Outside of EA's Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor games, I consider this franchise to have died in 2012. I wish George had never sold it to a bunch of talentless cultural vandals.
Edit addition: also, and this will sound odd... I don't want to introduce my children to Star Wars. It feels too... not fun. If I introduce them to it all, they get the joy of: Luke Skywalker becoming a has-been, Han Solo becoming a washed up failure who is murdered by his own son, Lando Calrissian becoming a party bum with no personal agency of his own, Anakin Skywalker's sacrifice being belittled, Rey Palpatine just naturally being great at everything with no effort (very inspirational for young girls), and just general awfulness. If I introduce them to just part of it, then I have to do some kind of weird canon-enforcing of my own that sounds exhausting. "Okay, only 1977 to 2012 counts... except for a few of the video games that came after. The actual post-Endor events are these 30 novels that I have on the shelf, which Disney ostensibly de-canonized... except that Disney keeps stealing plot ideas and characters from them, because Disney has awful writers and almost no ideas of its own. So Thrawn is an expanded universe guy, but he's also a Disney character, except Disney writes him like an idiot, so don't think abut Disney Thrawn. Just focus on legacy Thrawn..."
Bleh. I just won't bother showing my kids it at all. We'll all be happier.

I was a fan of Star Wars since I was 9. I was in the 501st and had a massive figure collection. I read the EU books, too. The Force Awakens came out, and I hated it! I was saying back then that Disney Star Wars is not Star Wars! Everyone said I was nuts! Then Disney Star Wars just kept getting worse and worse. I warned people that it wasn't going to get better. Now I'm over here saying, "I told you so!" Because of Disney, I sold my collection and quit the 501st as well. Disney Star Wars is NOT Star Wars. It never will be Star Wars. It's heartbreaking, but it's obvious Disney doesn't want the Star Wars fans. Kathleen Kennedy wanted to destroy Star Wars, and she succeeded. The brand is dead!
My brother or sister! I was right there with you! Kept saying the Disney movie was gonna suck, it DID suck, then everyone around me kept gaslighting me trying say how awesome it was! Then surprise, surprise! Time proved us both correct! I haven't let my friends forget it, either!
I hear people say that the Last Jedi was where they lost interest. But I lost it at the Force Awakens.
I couldn't ignore the fact that they just undid everything that happened in the original trilogy. The way the galaxy changed from Return of the Jedi to The Force Awakens made absolutely NO sense at all.
It was obvious to me that it was just a reboot masquerading as a sequel and that the film makers didn't understand the star wars universe at all.
Yeah. I didn't even bother with Last Jedi after the B.S. they did with deadbeat dad Han Solo. I never thought Kylo Ren was anywhere close to being a super villain like Darth Vader. Kyle was a pathetic brat throwing a temper-tantrum all the time.
And when people finally listened to those saying from day one that it was just a remake, the response was “of course it is.” What a bunch of fools to defend this. Disney thought they could rewrap the same birthday present for years ago in a different box and nobody would notice.
Funnily I remember TFA being an early warning for me that foreshadowed which friends and acquaintances I was later going to split with. One of the first signs of them going Consoom Product and Support the Current Thing was when we had a co-stream watch party with a few, and as I grew increasingly frustrated with the movie, the NPCs-to-be were bewildered and annoyed with me. In the post-watch talk, when I said it was just a bad hackneyed JJ remake of New Hope, they instead saw it as "a modern updated franchise reboot for a new generation", i.e. MoDeRn AuDiEnCeS. It was the same friends who later got struck with agenda fever and cancelled me for themselves for not being a blind agenda bot.
@@cattrucker8257the problem with “reboot for modern audiences” is that it WASN’T a reboot, it was claimed to be a continuation of the story. If it was a reboot, then it wouldn’t have the same actors playing the same roles decades later. It would be new people playing the roles without the tacked on nostalgia of the older characters. They tried to do both and it didn’t work. They wanted “new” but also nostalgia to draw in the older fans. Epic fail.
I thought maybe they were going for some kind of "cursed to repeat a cycle until the true heart of the problem is uncovered and resolved" kind of thing when I first saw it, so I was willing to suspend judgment and see where they were taking it. It quickly became apparent that I was giving them way too much credit.

Also 2D theatrical animation. Sure, DreamWorks fired the first shot, but Disney didn't do it any favors with Recess School's Out, Doug's First Movie, Home on the Range, Princess and the Frog release window, Treasure Planet marketing, and Winnie the Pooh.
Disney also ruined streaming. Like, streaming as a whole was pretty good until Disney said "pull our stuff of competition and pour millions of dollars into straight to streaming" which caused everyone but Sony to do the same.
I'm sure they did some other killing with videogame studios since they have many studios, but I can't name them off hand.
Also everything under 20th century fox, like blue sky.
When they tossed out the Expanded Universe, it was like they paid four billion dollars for Star Wars, took two billion dollars worth, and THREW IT IN THE OCEAN. Goodbye forever, glue that holds the fandom together!
No joke, the EU was the weirdly unacknowledged glue that held the franchise together. People who loved the movies but wanted more, like me, found all sorts of fun there. But it seems like the suits don't seem aware of that and think the movies is all there is to it, and EU was unnecessary constraining runoff that only gets in the way.
And now we see them haphazardly trying to plagiarize EU storylines from books and games and comics and whatnot to slap together some plots for the Disney knockoff. Meanwhile the everyone who liked the EU (like me, and I didn't even like all of it!) lost all attachment they had to the ongoing "canon" and revisit old EU for nostalgia value, not Disney shit.
Then they re-release the story's under legends to cash in 😂
@@cattrucker8257 Why do you think Kennedy ignored the tv shows? It wasn't until Mando got popular and her movies bombed did she latch on like a parasite. The silver screen was Lucasfilm's golden calf.
@@BungieStudios They made all the money off movie merchandise (and the rest of it from the movies themselves), sure. But the problem is, fanbase cultivation and retention needs more than that. Original Star Wars managers knew it very well, that's why they started the EU in the first place. A fanbase thus grown and cultivated via EU content to always graze on, kept the franchise a constant cultural presence and word-of-mouth staple - kept bringing in new fans and themselves stayed paying customers. Disney Wars managers do not seem to understand that, and their attempts at fan retention keep blowing up in their faces due to that.
It would have been one thing, if they had some sort of great idea, that could have ended up better than the old EU, maybe even if it didn't pan out quite as good, but it seems like they had no idea, beyond just rehashing the old EU and doing so poorly.
As it is, the old EU seemed to be much better than what we got.
My local cinema did a massive marathon for may the 4th. They only did og and prequel and totally ignored the disney trilogy. I laughed so hard
I love how these people who get paid to support Disney Star wars claim that a woman who spent her own personal money and sacrificed her own personal popularity to go to Comic-Cons dressed up as a Star wars character wasn't really a fan of Star wars.
Star Wars died when Disney killed the expanded universe very early on in their ownership.... The EU was the fans' Star Wars universe beyond the movies. Killing the EU was the biggest FU to the fans, and laid the groundwork for Disney to retcon all the lore and characters.
What is this ""expanded universe" that you speak of? Did not Kathleen Kennedy tell us "there's no source material. We don't have comic books. We don't have 800-page novels."
KK wouldn't LIE to us, would she?
I love the EU!
I completely agree and I never paid any attention to the EU. But I knew people who did. Very very very deeply did.
The EU blooooooooooows.
I’m glad they made all Disney stuff part of a separate canon. All their stuff would’ve ruined the EU otherwise. What pissed me off was that they proclaimed their stuff to be “canon” and all the old stuff to be “non canon”, rather than to just say that it’s a new canon or part of a different universe. That was really a kick in the face to all the artists that made the EU and Star Wars what it is.
This is the problem. They attack people that don’t like it rather than reflecting on why people don’t like it.
And they are very blatant and open about how they hate people that don’t like it.
It's because they don't actually like the franchise, they like solely the changes they're making to it and everything else is lip service to hide their intentions. They attack you as you are the problem and therefore fundamentally, irredeemably evil.
Typical behavior of high-tier narcs.
Superiority complex at nothing
EXACTLY
Countless 501st members (and the off-shoot groups) are quitting the groups and selling all their stuff because they don’t enjoy Star Wars anymore and flat out hate it.
A few of my friends left the 501st and several of their friends left too specifically because the organization has become so toxic and problematic. It’s been taken over by the Disney shills and people who don’t have any other defining characteristics besides their love for Star Wars. These groups are not what they were before.
I seriously hate how people who don't like Disney Star Wars are almost immediately jumped on by others just assuming it's because they don't like women, minorities and that they must be conservative. And funny how they are dismissed as liking "space fantasy movies made for kids".
News flash, just because it features a very diverse cast doesn't make it good! The numbers speak for themselves. Aside from terminally online people, most Star Wars anything now is such a non event. The Rise of Skywalker proved that; it came and went and people hardly noticed.
I don't mind them doing it, it shows they didn't learn anything lol
Unfortunately, they get jumped like that because a small number of the people who complain really _are_ that kind of mysogynistic, xenophobic extreme-right wing nut. And because that small fraction of the Star Wars fandom exists, Disney has unfortunately decided to claim that said small fraction is representative of the entire fanbase in order to save face, rather than fixing the legitimate problems.

The only thing that kept me from storming out of TLJ was the fact that I was there with my father. He isn't nearly the Star Wars fan that I am and only went because he likes to do things with his only son and I didn't want to ruin that for him.
The the Leia Poppins scene happened and he got to witness his son shout "are you fucking kidding me?!" in a mostly full theater and be asked to leave.
@@gilmadreth680 For me, another one was the shot where they showed ironing clothes. That was another spot where I wanted to shout "When did I start watching Spaceballs 2?" The Mary Poppins scene was another that made me groan out loud. What a cluster of a movie....ugh
That sentiment right there in the theater holding back is the exact sentiment that will change the world if you take it to the streets and vote. Don't hold back. These clowns need to be called out for being clowns and not having any reference point.
You didn't think what the fuck about them making han a dead beat dad and killing him off
People only grow up when they realize that politics and voting will solve none their problems.
"Why don't you move on?"
We did.
I left Star Wars, Star Trek, and Doctor Who and moved on, I will still rewatch the classic ones but the new stuff I don't care to see anything of them, I gave them a chance, and got burned.
A local theater re-released Episode 1 recently. We made a family event of it because it was $4 ticket + a free popcorn night.
Its not a great movie, but we all had fun. Everybody said the same thing, it had a soul.
I saw “The Phantom Menace” back in 1999 and it was amazing.
Imagine spending billions of dollars on one of the most popular IPs in history and completely burning it to the ground...
Geeky roasting douchebags on Twitter and using their own logic against them never gets old!
As a racist, misogynistic middle aged white man, i can't bear the direction Disney Star Wars has gone. So i threw my toys out of my pram and refused to ever watch it again and cancelled D+. And between Mark Hamill and Harrison Fords distain for it, i can't even enjoy the originals
So you basically threw a temper tantrum. Good for you...
@@Aedryc thank you!
I'll never loose my love for the original characters and the stories. They are a gift to humanity that exist in the collective consciousness of the fans. It doesn't matter what George Lucas or Mark Hamill do today, in my mind they can't ruin it, as they are separate from what they created. It has to be that way, otherwise all art is ruined, because artists are highly flawed people who sometimes channel greatness. Don't see these people as heroes, just see them as people who were vessels for great art at one time.
There is a pattern of these companies getting these classic IPs, and instead of trying to continue them, they have to impact the origins, nullify the efforts and achievements of earlier (man) characters, and wipe away the stakes and meaning of the old stories.
You'll never convince me that it isn't intentional.
Oh it is. It's a pretty textbook case of iconoclasm.
Disney isn't hiring directors, they're recruiting activists;they're not passing the torch, they're torching the past. Welcome to the Fourth Reich;all of these woke movies,TV shows, comic books and video games are the 21st century version of Triumph Of The Will,Leni Riefenstahl would be proud.

Marxism wants you to believe only in the state. There is no culture other than the state. You will have no heroes. You will have no inspiration. You will not have hope. You will not hold onto past fond memories. "Let the past die. Kill it if you have to!" Was the mask slipping in a subtle way. Disney is not a profit driven company. It is about The Message only.
I'm glad you finally caught up to speed lol
it is intentional
can confirm i found out when on tumblr 5 years ago, they are doing it out of spite
I do have a problem with people liking it. They have no self respect. It's objectively ruined, destroyed, over. Stop picking up logs of excrement and pretending its gold.
American Dad reference, dog turds aren't gold, they're power crystals.
People are absolutely entitled to not be fans of something. Twitter is crazy. I walked away during the prequels, came back for Mandalorian season one, and then left when Gina Carano was fired.
I just can't imagine the amount of revenue they thought they were going to get opposed to what they got. I used to spend thousands a year on collecting and games and books and I haven't spent a dime in 5 or 6 years and I know I'm not the only one.
Was a 501st member, but I boxed up my armors and am preparing to sell them. Disney and KK killed something that meant a lot to me over the past 30+ years.
I built my first suit while in the Navy (Shadow Scout) then went on to build a Republic Commando after the game dropped, then made an ARC trooper after the Clone Wars series came out (but mine was based on the original ARC trooper figures that were released from the comics). Lots of long hours invested in making these suits and trooping at events, cons, parades and movie releases. Seeing children's eyes light up when they saw me and my crew was amazing. But that light is gone and the joy snuffed out.
Keep those memories, their are precious unlike current Star Wars.
It's a travesty how the utterly OBLITERATED something so many of us truly, deeply LOVED.
Here’s the problem with folks that like Disney SW is. There aren’t enough of you to keep this ship afloat
What I find ironic, most companies will ditch a core fan base to target a bigger audience.
The thing was, Star Wars was already one of the main stream forms of media. And decided to target a smaller audience.
The other problem is... where tf are they?
@@thetoondevilDisney never tried to target a new audience. The target was starwars and to ruin it. Everything to prepare for the end of the world
I grew up with Star Wars. I was a Kenner Star Wars kid. I had EVERY Empire Kenner toy that was a regular release. I saw the Special Editions in the theaters and the prequels. I was critical of the two Hayden Christensen films, but they didn't make me hate Star Wars. I enjoyed The Force Awakens, Rogue One was okay (kinda meh). The first two seasons of The Mandelorian were good, but everything else has made me SICK because it's SO BAD. I *HATE* what they did to Gina Carano. The two Ewok movies are better than ANYTHING coming out now. I am APATHETIC about Star Wars. I don't care if I ever even watch the original trilogy EVER AGAIN in my life... that's how BAD it is! The classic actors can all die off now and I won't even care; the magic is GONE.
Gina Carano violated her contract, so she was fired... which is what happens to employees when they violate their contracts, you know? If she were a burger cook, you wouldn't feel sorry for her, would you?
Same. I was a 501st member and I’ve been out since TLJ
Of course the Caillous are mad about it. In their minds you're not allowed to say anything negative about Rey "Mary Sue" Palpatine, otherwise you're the real enemy.
Speaking of "caillous", even Ishitsubute from Pokémon have more of a personality than the bigots, and Ishitsubute are rocks with arms.
I'm with Kneon on no longer even being able to enjoy the original trilogy. Between Disney's desecration of the franchise and Mark Hamill's social media I have no desire to ever watch Star Wars again.
The only Star Wars that's left that's still Star Wars IMO is KOTOR. It's the only thing to me that doesn't feel tainted by... *this*
I've been diving back into the EU recently. The good is still there, reject D cannon, return to E cannon. The Rouge Squadron books, the Wraiths, Luke being Luke and scoring with a firey redhead...so much good to be had.
I rewatched the OT recently and it still works for me. It´s timeless.
Bingo
The Walt Disney Company doesn't exist anymore. It died years ago. The name is invalid, every official "Walt Disney" needs to be changed so that Walt Disney Company/Corporation refers to it's previous iteration.
The modern iteration is "The Bob Iger Consortium".
It’s now “DisCo” as Kneon says, as in “Panic at the Mickey Mouse Disco”.
Walt'd be spinning in his grave if he knew what the person is who is running his company. Eisner or Iger, for that matter.
Disney and all these companies think fans are stupid and will buy anything. Prove them wrong.
Disney is correct. Nerds are addicts.
"Just move on!"
Uh.. you're reading their comments right? They *are* moving on.. that's kind of the point. What's with these super vocal room temperature IQ people.
The lower the IQ, the higher the volume.
The damage is done. People have moved away from Disney. Even boys enjoy playing as female characters in video games when the characters have something cool going on. Girls are allowed in with the fans too that they may not need characters looking like them.
The “good fans” are probably going to give her a very hard time.Disney has cultivated an audience of casual newbies and total shitheads to replace the greatest audience of all time. Not a great plan…
It's actually a smart move. Disney is focused on the future.
@@gfys756 Tourists who jump from current thing to current thing are not any kind of future. They're house pets sitting before a TV staring at whatever's on, not fans. "The future" you expect is going to forget all about Star Wars the moment the next show by the next IP is hyped, they'll rave about it and call anyone who dislikes it nazis, then they'll move on to the next one... the cycle is endless. They will forget all about this show in a week and might not even remember watching it, as already happened with previous Disney Wars shows. And people who have the memory span of a goldfish do not a fandom make, they're "fans" of mindless positivity for whatever product is hyped.
@@gfys756 They did everything wrong, lost tons of money, and burned their greatest resource, a legion of loyal fans. @@gfys756 They’ve burned the future. Their greatest resource was the fans they have rejected, who cared about SW for decades, bought the products and brought their descendants into the fold. I sell used books on the side. The Star Wars Expanded Universe stuff still sells quite well. But Disney Star Wars novels? I can't give them away.

Unfortunately, these are the people that create forever wars and now genocides. They rich enough that they can do this sort of thing and it won’t hurt them. Selling the pieces to make more money. Doing plenty of things that should be illegal and other things that are, but they can get away with it.

Episodes 1-6 of STAR WARS are the only canon!

Some of the EU also counts as canon, or at least as deuterocanon, provided its consistent(as well as it can) with the six films. I consider Darth Plagueis canon, for example.
And the holiday special. It's so wonderfully goofy :D
7-9 are still good, but 1-6 are perfect.
the mouse killed Star Wars, Marvel, Indiana Jones, and Willow then dug up Doctor Who's corpse to defile it.

I was done with Star Wars since Disney bought it.
You and me both buddy.
me too
I walked out when Rey went from thinking Luke was a myth to wielding force mind trick in, what, a day?
Not me! I ❤️ “Star Wars”. There’s also a parody called “Hardware Wars”, it was hilarious.
Saw it in ‘77 at the theater with my Dad. I’ve dropped out of it totally.
Saw it in a drive in theatre at the same time with my family also. how do you turn the beloved into shit, we thought Jar jar was as bad as it got
I felt a little sad when I saw that the theater I first saw Star Wars at was gone. I saw so many movies there growing up.
I’ve never saw it in a theater until 1983 when we saw ”Return of the Jedi”. I remember “A New Hope” when it was first released on VHS by 20th Century Fox Video back in 1982. We rented it and watched it. I also have the Super 8 print of “A New Hope” with “Selected Scenes”.

Let's stick with pre-2012 SW, including its EU.
Same here but some people don’t want to watch the old films due to Disney did this to them.

If they/them didn't push the message at nausea no one would care about any of this. But they went too extreme
I remember when we were kids and the prequels came out, I was in middle school. Nearly everyone had plastic lightsabers and no amount of teachers telling us "no" could stop us and our lightsaber fights. My nephew loved SW, but he despises most of the new stuff. He liked Manod season 1 and some of 2, and R1 but that was it.
Disney made SW for activists and "everyone" they tried to mass market the fandom, but forgot who had kept the hype alive for DECADES. They spit on the fans, made generic movies that a LOT of fans were apathetic towards at best, screwed up lore, destroyed characters, NEVER PUT THE ORIGINAL CAST IN THE SAMR SCENE, and generally did everything they could to insult us, they wonder why hype is dead, sales are down on merch, and nobody even cares if another movie come out ever?
The fans are the lifeblood of the IP. Disney smashed at the artery and let it bleed out for years.
Naive fool. Star Wars was ALWAYS about activists. It was always political. Lucas himself said it. He was strongly anti-Reagan, remember?
At this point in time I dont know who even genuinely likes Star Wars or is even a fan at this point, besides those woke activits claiming to be fans and all is well with Star Wars.
People are still holding on to SW but its over since This IP is not being adopted by kids. Like u know your ip is dead when they present a retractable light saber that glows up and its met with silence. 10-12 years ago people would have lost their minds
I still like star wars I just don't like everything in it.
I still the old Starwars and also Lego Starwars and I also recently got the game Starwars Fallen Order and that's been pretty cool so far and I will always love Ben Kenobi. He's been my favorite Starwars character since I was a child. It saddens me greatly to see Disney killing such a great franchise with their dumb woke agenda.
I honour the old Star Wars. Before the dark times, before the Disney Empire. Thankfully that past is still alive in a remainder of fandom... but it's still a much worse, shadow-of-its-former-self state than it was before Disney bought it. Now it's just smaller groups of oldheads and a few new explorers keeping the flame, as opposed to being the daily order of the grand Star Wars fandom. That fandom is broken and gone.
I have Project 4K77/4K80/4K83, that's all the Star Wars I need
Although Gennedy Tartakovsky's take on Clone Wars was really good too
I remember when George Lucas star wars toy aisle was the whole aisle. Under Disney it's now just a corner.
I am a member of both the 501st and Rebel Legion, here in Australia. I paraded at Disneyworld back in 2012 with the Star Wars groups. Disney Star Wars has turned Hope into Despair, so much that I have lost interest in trooping, as well.
This is why I haven't seen any of the Disney crap. I can still watch the old Star Wars with untainted eyes. And I don't watch any media that hasn't been vetted by people I trust.
Honestly.... dissecting the behind-the-scenes stuff and trying to figure out the original plan for the sequel trilogy is interesting to me. Like.. SW9 got so heavily changed late into production that Disney had to scrap the tie-in toy line they'd commissioned Hasbro to make. What.. the... ---- did they change?!?!?! The same goes for SW8... the teasers they made for it and showed early on... don't match later teasers OR the finished movie.... WHY?
Interviews with the guy who played Kylo Ren..... show that he was originally told that the character arc of Kylo was that he was to be a villain who got WORSE over time as his failures made him desperate and reckless. that's what was true before SW7 finished...
So many more bits of info people have found.
I for one think you could have made a good sequel trilogy... but Disney intentionally ruined it.
The Force Awakens was pretty good and Rogue One was surprisingly great but yeah, everything else is pure trash. You're wise to keep your good memories and ignore the Disney trash. I wish I would have...
Adrianne Curry won the first America's Next Top Model. She then was on MTVs Surreal Life. Then went on to date Christopher Knight(Peter Brady). They had a show My Fair Brady.
interesting how tourists use a term they fought against now use against actual fans.
That’s one thing that always irked me about these yahoos…
“You’re not *real* fans!”
And who decided that? Who went and gave you the authority to dictate who is/isn’t an actual fan?
The same people who declared the Sequel fans to be "casual newbies whose opinions don't matter." Yeah, the door swings both ways, my dear.
I think the most telling thing was the May the 4th video not showing any of the Disney trilogy Star Wars.
I mean let's be honest here, Disney pretty much gave up on it too. They don't even seem to bother bringing it up in any of the investor meetings or quarterly earnings reports anymore it seems.
They can sell the ip back to Lucas
I still LOVE STAR WARS! episodes 1-6 and the Dave Filoni John Favero stuff, the old legends comics and books, and games but the shit that Disney does screw that stuff!
I hate the fact that the things that I loved have been so completely murdered by Disney...for no other reason than because they can kill them.
