@@animezilla4486Disney sought the 'modern audience'. I.e. They sought the stakeholders the WEF spoke into existence. Those people who 'are affected by the actions of the company' who somehow... Industry convinced itself could be reached and turned into new audience members that would eclipse the number of existing audience members...
Just one problem... They have to be reached, and then they have to be incentivised to become 'paying customers'.
Now technically... a tribe deep in some forest who has never heard of Disney or modern civilisation are stakeholders if they are affected by 1gram of carbon from Disney'd power needs affecting climate change. The stakeholder model isn't fussy on how a person is affected, only that the affects make people stakeholders... But that tribe who is not aware of Disney will 'never' buy into Disney. And even if they were to become aware of Disney they would still not buy into Disney as it has nothing they want...
So that is why it appears that Industries are spurning their paying customers. They think there are more customers to be reached, regardless of whether they are interested in buying in and somehow in the process the companies that make up industry have severed themselves from their paying audience thanks to activists who pursue the stakeholder scheme under the belief that they are changing the world for the better through their activism... All the while companies are shutting down because they are now broke.
All because they sent the audience away, and waited in vain for the new one to appear.

The only reason we had "superhero fatigue" is because of all the bad/incompetent writing from Marvel and DC. Watch "Invincible" & the fatigue won't be there. @@animezilla4486 The fatigue isn't real, but the genre is no longer appealing to mainstream audiences. The ran off Lasseter on wild charges from Karen's about him hugging! Everybody KNEW he was and had ALWAYS been. Don't like it? Go work for another animation place! Then lied to Lucas to get him to sell and ruined TWO major franchises. Then the big bomb, While Stan was alive, Marvel grew, because Stan wouldn't have allowed the disgusting things that are being done to Marvel now. But they waited for him to die and then also killed the things he worked hard to have people like and love.
They don't have any original ideas, not for movies, TV or even for the parks. You'll NEVER see another Haunted Mansion or Matterhorn, or Big Thunder or Space Mtns, or even Everest. They don't have IP. You wouldn't even see parks like EPCOT or Animal Kingdom. Because they were built either completely or with only minor IP in ANY of the parks.

Bob Iger is a clueless, overrated and arrogant CEO! He isn´t so smart. Every single man can acquire IP´s , franchises etc. But to use them in the right way! Not to losing the audience or paying client for the product, he, Bob Iger, is the worst businessman ever! Because he can´t handle it!
But sadly, DISNEY wouldn´t fell so fast, cuz they still have Larry Fink to pamper their a$$ and compensate the losses!
In the end it is US who can affect that direction. In order we don´t buy their merchandise for the brands like Star Wars or Marvel, to spend our money for their parks and movies or political streaming service!
Because they ruined everything of joy for us, movies, tv-shows, entertaining and also gaming, as you can see at the current development of the AAA games! But gamers are another dimension. And that is good! Let´s see that they will lose as much money as they can and lose as many employees as possible, cuz that will be the next step of Bob Iger, like he has done in the last year so many times, fired employees who aren´t responsible for his incompetent decisions of leading management!

You respect the source material that you’re making a movie upon you respect the fandom that the movie is attached to and you do not put a message in it and then at the end of the day guess what you make money how hard is it it’s like following a recipe for brownies you do the recipe right your brownies will come out good and people eat them and they will praise you you don’t follow the recipe and you make it wrong. It comes out and it taste like shit. People are not gonna wanna eat it anymore and they’re going to tell you that you burnt the brownies really how hard is a Disney really simple

This is funny in one way: one big reason for the huge success the OT of Star Wars is, IMO, that when it came out there was a vacuum it could fill perfectly.
Old fashioned clean adventure stories. And when I say clean I mean, first, something the whole family could watch because there was nothing you'd want to keep from kids, but it was not dumbed down and there was still quite a bit that could amuse adults who got the implications kids would not. And second, it was pretty clear who were the good guys and who were the bad ones, and you could cheer for the good ones with no reservations. The good guys had all the qualities humans pretty universally see as good, and on top of that, they were the underdogs, and most people love the underdogs who do well and win fair and square.
The movies during the preceding decades had more and more given up on that type of stories in favor of more complicated and more "realistic" ones. The heroes had more and more moved towards antiheroes and sometimes worse, they didn't win or their wins were bittersweet, or they won because they played dirty. There had of course been some "old-fashioned" adventure still, but one fact not all that often acknowledged is that that type of stories actually seem to be surprisingly hard to do really well, unlike the more cynical versions. So when less is made you will get fewer and fewer clear hits.
And Star Wars fell into that slot quite well. And it didn't had any clear rivals there.
And now Disney is trying to create something more complicated and "nuanced", and not even doing that well, and in doing so, is leaving the field clear for new rivals, ones willing to offer the audiences what they want.
