We can't believe it either. But according to an award-winning Lucasfilm alum and close associate with George himself, the original creator of Star Wars may return for one last stint with a galaxy far, far away. Today we'll tell you what we think this means and whether or not we believe it will really happen.

I won’t believe it unless Kathleen Kennedy, Lesley Headland, and Dave Filoni are walked out holding beggar’s boxes.
Go white slavers go!
Why do you not mention Bobby Iger?
I'd be fine with kk and headland instead but if all need to leave so be it
I think there's more to the situation than George Lucas siding with Iger. If anything, I think Lucas is a victim of being a corporate hostage since Iger slapped a none disparaging clause in the contract that prevents George from speaking out against Iger and he can only say positive things about Iger's work. It's incredibly slimy and malicious on Igar's part to do this to a man who has already suffered enough (health problems, divorce, constant harassment from OT purists and prequel haters that murdered his creative drive and so on).
Both Iger's memoir and Lucas's interview on the Charlie Rose show make it abundantly clear that Lucas hates what Iger has done to his work. But his figurative hands are tied that prevent him from speaking out.
@@pntr92 These Jews don't obey anything.
Who cares? Lucas sold us out and endorsed the guy who destroyed his life's work!
DING DING DING!!! WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE, JOHNNYIEE?!!! 😂
Exactly.
I thank him and his production team for Episodes 1 thru 6.
However, after he supported Iger during the proxy fight, my view of him is very low.
He won't be getting my money.
Kathleen Kennedy and the feminst man hating agenda runs every thing.

Pin this comment you cowards.
They only want George to legitimize the terrible things they have done.
Short, sweet, and to the point.
Your comment should be pinned.
Or try to save their IP.
Making magic isn't for amateurs
Lucas already has. He says he trusts Disney's vision for his work.
Lucas betrayed the fans. That whole series can burn for all I care.
George Lucas didn't betray anybody. He is 100 percent entitled to his own views and opinions. The fact that Toxic Fandom thinks that Lucas betrayed them really shows how badly their anger and frustration has taken over their own humanity. I 100 percent support George Lucas and I believe in him.
@@ttanza4004
"That toxic fandom, that toxic fandom" you keep on repeating that phase over and over again. It's repetitive.
Yeah he doesn’t get nearly enough blame for all this. He still is and will remain the #1 reason why Star Wars is in this mess

Indeed he did. Giving Bob Iger the votes with his shares despite what he the esg and dei people have done, the choice itself shows how much he has compromised and sacrificed far far too much and tries to rationalize it. He no longer has integrity or steadfast loyalty to the universe's history he and most of all the Expanded Universe authors bulit up.
Disney will continue their agenda, give George a producer credit, and then blame us for hating George. "See! See! They're just haters! They even hate George Lucas!"
That's a Bingo! 😅
No offense but most of y'all are not being fair to George Lucas
So what? I won't be watching it if its bad.
@@animezilla4486 It's just my prediction. If he comes back and puts out some good content that the majority of fans like then I'll gladly admit that I was wrong. But personally, this feels more like desperate nostalgia bait than anything else.
No matter what they do it's going to continue to lose money that they will never recover at this point. It's like purchasing a gym and then deciding it would be better as a Mcdonald's for no apparent reason.

Pretty easy to say in hindsight.
This is pretty much what I figured would happen when Lucas backed Iger in the proxy battle.
Even if Lucas is back, who cares? Star Wars was a very important part of my life during most my life, then Disney ruined it, and Lucas himself gave the final nail to the coffin of Star Wars by supporting Disney. F him, F Disney, F Star Wars, I will never support or spend a single cent even again on anything they produce. Star Wars is dead.
Lucas is trying to make his billions and eat it too
💯 agreed
"Lucas is back, rejoice fans!"
"Now sit in the cubicle and do as little as possible George. And make sure the pronouns are right."
Lol probably this.
Most likely.
Star wars is now completely irredeemable. The creator has betrayed, the studio hates us, Disney doesn't care and KK is incompetent. Nothing can be done
I agree with everything you said except about KK being incompetent, she knows exactly what she's doing and moving forward with her plans.
Lucas will live long enough to see his empire fall and will symbolically go off the cliff like Denethor.
poetically written
Who cares anymore? To hate something means you still feel something about it. All I see when looking at it is apathy.
Agreed.
Yeah, the only thing left is the amusement of watching how badly Disney fails and how they learn nothing form their failures.

@@user-kz5gw7xe4othat's not an amusement that's mean spirited they will learn and they will do better X-Men 97 is proof of that
@@animezilla4486 what makes you think he’s speaking for you?
George Lucas abandoned the fandom, recognized his mistake, and still sided with the 'white slavers'.
Lucas's own character proclaimed it: "Then my father is truly dead."
He is now (and let’s be real, has been for some time) a white slaver himself. It official.
George was tired of the fandom's shit. I don't blame him for giving in to what is now KennedyFilm.
If even the good guys are woke now, imagine Lucas.
That's my concern too. He might have drank all the kool-aid.
@DouglasLippi
And now he will be serving it
And you're somehow...surprised by this? Do you not recall his reasoning for having Han let Greedo shoot first? Or his "Viet Cong" analogy for the Ewoks?
The only thing Disney had with Star Wars was brand recognition. They've destroyed that and now they're just trying to get some of it back.
I don't believe that if it really was destroying why are you still talking about it
@animezilla4486 Brand recognition is the ability to draw a crowd of supporters simply because of the name attached to it. It's a term given to describe the cultural impact of something and its expectations of success simply by reputation alone.
Star Wars has no current expectations of success. At all. Let alone based solely on the power of its reputation. Lol. Disney is deathly afraid--and rightfully so--that their movies, if they get released at all, will fail massively because the brand has been tarnished to the point that when people see the label, they expect it to be bad.
And so bad that people talk relentlessly about how bad it is.
@@animezilla4486 I see you still think "there's no such thing as bad publicity" still is relevant.
In this time of Social Media where this stuff goes global in seconds.
Just because Star Wars is talked about in a negative manner does not equal interaction. More people talk about Dune and Ghostbusters then they do Star Wars right now.
One word: desperation.
Two words: marketing campaign
Three words: DEI will continue.
Last words: who cares?
Disney has made it clear that they do not respect George & they only use his name to stoke the fires of fan curiosity.
"George please come back and save us."
"OK, first I think we should-"
"No."
Exactly. "Please save us by advising us to do what we've already decided we would do."
Bingo.
Very few people care anymore about Star Wars (I myself inculded)... if anything, we who reject Woke Disney, are going back to everything Star Wars, PRE-DISNEY acquisition.
👍 👍 lots to enjoy. Classic LucasArts games are great.
It's fooking too late. Even Lucas can't save Disney Star Wars and why would we want him to(?), he's already betrayed his creation by backing those that wrecked it in the first place.
What you just said is ridiculous he hasn't betrayed anybody as far as I'm concern is the fans that betrayed him just because he's not hating Disney like y'all are that doesn't make him a traitor y'all really need to calm down
He wear old man diapers. At senility, he'll be used and abused, just like Stan Lee. Milk'd George to death like Wacko Jacko. Now, a crime like that will be prosecuted being 1000% true? Naw man, have ye seen the injustice done, the irrational justice, the show trial of justice at play? It's all about money and spilling the seed of Adam.
@@animezilla4486 no we don't, he joined the cultural assassins and enablers like you
@@animezilla4486 Until evidence says otherwise...@CallmeScott67 is more likely right, here
maybe the only way to save star wars would be if a fan of starwars got ahold of it said everything under KK is not cannon and not true (bringing back the extended universe) and then dig up the rumored lucas script that KK and disney binned, and that is only the start of a long road to rebuild a bunch of bridges that have been burned down and the sites repeatedly nuked
It’s to late to fix what Disney broke. Also they drove the fans away
We already know Lucas is the Anakin of our world. Him coming back just means he's Darth Vader now, here to kill your childhoods and then hunt down and destroy any last lingering love we have for the franchise.
He's one of the main reasons Peltz failed to get seats this year, sided with his slavers and even endorsed that stupid "not for amateurs" line, so his reputation is in the garbage now.
Plus if it's true he's just a senile old man now, all he's going to do is further make himself a joke moving forward.
...Though at the same time, if this also means eventually Lucas will throw KK down a reactor shaft and she explodes, would at least be a little fun to see even if the franchise is fully dead by then.
Throwing KK down a reactor shaft wouldn’t work, didn’t work for Palpatine! 😂
It's all smoke and mirrors. He was kind involved and provided input with John Favreau.
Disagree with you 100% first of all it's not George for that Peltz lost secondly his reputation is still as good as ever. As far as I'm concerned the man deserves all the respect you seem to forgot without him that wouldn't be no Star wars
@@animezilla4486 Do you have any idea how much stock Lucas put into the races in support of Iger over Peltz? It was enough to make it go from a tight race to a complete block out. Not to mention that the media being able to say Lucas supports Iger most likely convinced many investors to further support Iger over realizing something is horribly wrong.
Then there's the comment he made about "Creating magic isn't for amateurs" which makes him a complete hypocrite since he was an amateur when he made Star Wars. This is especially comical when there's footage of him calling Disney slavers and hating everything they've done to Star Wars up to this point.
He 100% deserves respect for who he used to be, but the current George Lucas has fallen to the dark side. I mean do you still say Darth Vader deserves respect for all the good he did as Anakin, or do judge him as the monster he has become and his current deeds and actions?
Course if he does come back to help with a Star Wars product, all we can do is see if it will be respectful and good, or the usual Disney junk that bombs these days.
@@rickdeckardbladerunner2049 I do remember hearing he was on set from time to time. Course it's also rumor that Favreau is abandoning ship and going elsewhere so the last hope for Star Wars is leaving. Asohka gives me no real hope for a Filoni led Star Wars either.
F Disney. F Iger. F Kennedy....and....F GEORGE LUCAS!! He will NOT be any type of savior for SW.
Seriously, I think they're just trying to raise the Disney stock price with this rumour. Lucas would have come back long before this as he watched Disney Star Wars floundered - now it would really be too little too late, in my opinion
Especially so since we lost Carrie Fisher, and thus will never get to see the original cast back together again. For that reason alone it's definitely too late.
The problem is, even with George, most people just don't care anymore. That's how bad Disney has bungled the Star Wars brand.
Well let me ask you this can you guarantee that everybody doesn't care like you because of George Lucas is revolved and we have to take this very seriously
@@animezilla4486 Based on the eyeballs some of the Star Wars trailers got from when it was still good, and what it gets now, that's an almost 90% drop in eyeballs.
And yes, more people don't care because 1) the creator himself said the company that took his franchise over wasn't treating it well, 2) he then said doing what he did wasn't for amateurs (he was an amateur at the time), 3) he didn't even feel the need to ACTUALLY do anything to save the brand even when he's supposedly got a pretty sizeable amount of shares and would have had SOME influence, if and when he wanted to (which it seems he didn't).

But... he was VERY on set of the Mandalorian.
If this was 2022, this might be something.
I can't imagine Disney allowing him doing much more than "story consulting" at this point.
I could see him being involved with the rumored Je’daii Order movie, but who knows.
I think this too little WAY too late if this is an attempt to "get the fans back".
Hardcore fans are already in Grey Havens.
scrap everything under Disney
no Andor, no mandalorian, no rogue one
nothing under disney should be spared, it all ties together to the sequels, all must be scrapped
But why…? Why would George even consider even pasting his name on Disney Star Wars stories? The IP is in tatters, and the very heart of Star Wars, the entire Skywalker family tree, has been shredded, thrown in the dumpster and moved off the property in hopes fans will forget about them. I find in immensely hard to believe that George would be empowered to directly wipe out 12 years of Disney damage … 🤷🏻♂️

Most of those people are dead.
Yes it will people like you seem to forget that George Lucas was the father of Star wars
@@animezilla4486 And it's people like you who forget that he got his "influences" from other sources, several of them foreign. Star Wars isn't even the BEST space sci-fi movie ever made. It only became popular because the FANS made it popular, not the "creatives". If you read anything about the Star Wars franchise history, you would have seen that it was flat out rejected when George started to shop the concept around to the studios. That was how much faith Hollywood had in his original "vision".
Lucas has ALWAYS supported Dave Feloni in everything he's done so I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas was on set during Ahsoka for most of it and I wouldn't be surprised if Ahsoka 2 is the reason George is coming back.

They screwed it up so bad that they bring back George, but I think they screwed it up so much that even with George coming back they won't be able to fix it unless they give him total control of whatever project he's doing, which they won't. Even Filoni is trying to use the Bad Batch to patch some of sequel holes like he successfully did with the prequels, in my opinion, with Clone Wars. The franchise has been destroyed and is beyond saving.
Honestly, I don't think George cares anymore anyways. He once did, but I'm sure he sees how bad it is, and has given up hope.

St. George is not the cure.
Whatever George Lucas does, Disney is going to use it to try to legitimize everything Disney has done with Star Wars. And there is no way any project by George Lucas will succeed while it has the weight of the Disney failures dragging it down.
Haha, they must think we’re suckers!! George stabbed all of his fans in the back after the the Nelson Peltz stunt. We forgave George for selling it in the first place. A large part of Lucas' payment for Star Wars was in Disney shares. Now those shares arent worth half as much. Hes just in it to try and raise the share price so he can sell his stock
I hope he does come back. There’s a good many people who need to learn George isn’t who they think he is. And it would be another L for Lucasfilm.
Aye, but those many people are much like Snyder fans. They'll excuse every wrong he commits and still deify him. Beware of false idols, as they say.
Aaaaand he’s just as excited about KK’s Star Wars as Iger and Chapek are.
New king same as the old king.
The die is cast for me. I've become apathetic towards the property as a whole. There is nothing they can do now that will draw me back in.
George can NOT fix Star Wars, UNLESS Disney decides to RETCON all their crap!
They'll NEVER do that (unless Lucasfilm would be on the brink of collapse, and even then it would be TOO late to steer the ship right again). They've invested FAR too much in their "all new all different" High Republic and Sequel Trilogy rebooted universe. By putting Luke and the rest of the Skywalkers and Solos (and adding a Solo child that never existed) into the mix, they've essentially cut off any and all chances of actually going back to the old universe as the old-school fans knew it. In the EU book series, Chewbacca died protecting Han (essentially paying back his life debt in the process) and that pretty much destroyed Han for a good while, until he was forced to pick himself up to honor Chewie's death by being a hero - that storyline is now gone because Chewie is still alive in the Sequel Trilogy. Leia was a major power player in the New Republic Senate, and had to survive continued attacks against her leadership and slander against Han and her family by subversive elements in the Senate - that's storyline is now gone as well. Luke had to not just train new Jedi, but see multiple of his students turn to the Dark Side, including one who set up the Shadow Academy and who then went on to train Dark Force users - essentially trying to undo Luke's mentorship of Force users - storyline, gone. The storyline with the Sith followers, and the "doctor" who tried to find a way to give non Force users the ability to use the Force - gone. I could go on and on, but the point I'm making is that the Disney's version of the universe is an incoherent mess for a reason - they are trying to create a cinematic universe in something that isn't exactly fit for purpose for something like that (at least, not in the way THEY are doing it). Even IF you give them the benefit of the doubt and try to be charitable, their universe building is pretty damn bad, and they don't seem to care when one movie or show ACTIVELY breaks their OWN new universe and even the "rules" they set up for it.
And because Disney (in their infinite wisdom) wanted to do their own thing, all those changes of the main characters also meant that it has a knock-on effect on all the side and supporting characters and what their stories were doing to built out the Star Wars universe, because their stories was built on what happened to the main/core characters of the franchise. So you can't even use the side or supporting characters EITHER, because their stories now won't make sense because the core characters no longer have their original timelines intact.
they wont do that
it is ded ⚰

It doesn't matter what the hell George Lucas does!
Lucas sold out the fans that supported him for decades but it didn't matter to him, he showed us all where his loyalties lie and they are clearly with Disney.
It doesn't matter. Far too little far too late. There is nothing they can do to get me or my family back as long as Disney owns Star Wars.
I think Lorn's onto something here. Disney will announce "George is back in Star Wars!" But it will be a small credit, story treatment or something, to get everyone's attention and shield it, whatever it is from criticism. (Y'all remember "Strange Magic"? Lucas only did the story, but everyone blamed him for how "bad" it was. He didn't direct it, write the script, or the music. But because his name was on it everyone dog piled on him)
To little to late, just posturing by Disney trying to get back some loyal customers. But they can't fix the damage they've caused in the past.

Won't matter. The Disney trilogy is the elephant in the room. Disney cannot begin to rebuild what they have destroyed without jettisoning the DST and making a real Star Wars ST. They have shown no willingness to try to right their wrongs so this should not be any different.
I'll also say this. Whether I agree with every idea he has or not, I love George Lucas. His ST treatments would undoubtedly be better than what Disney actually made, but the truth is it doesn't sound all that good (to me). I think there are superior ideas out there. YMMV.
@@jacobgordon7998 I personally want to see a sequel trilogy focused on the Legacy books. I'm sure that isn't happening, but I wish.
@@criticallard2090 Agreed. The boat was missed on multiple levels. They killed the Golden Goose. It is unbelievable.
I prefer to see a trilogy incorporating a partially adapted NJO, featuring multiple Solo kids as seminal events which lead to a couple more trilogies. A ST true to the OT and PT with connective threads, perhaps even giving us a different perspective on both the OT and PT, too. A bridge setting the stage for further stories.
Remember when people went "GIVE IT BACK TO LUCAS TO WRITE"...conveniently forgetting how dialogue is NOT his strong suit. Regardless...they're getting what they SAID THEY WANTED. 😏
We’re getting the band back together! Oh wait, the drummer, the bass player & the piano player all look different now
So long as Disney is in the picture, nothing truly good can come of it.
Star Wars Theory isn’t that quick: he’s just a huge Filoni Stan.
Even George Lucas can not save a dead franchise.
That's your opinion I disagree talk about negative you really underestimate George Lucas as a director do you
@@animezilla4486 I lost any respect I had for Lucas when he sold out to Disney.
@@hopejordan2997are you referring to that speech
Lucas should film the actual episodes VII, VIII and IX with Sebastian Stan as Luke, Billie Lourd as Leia, Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover again as Han and Lando. The current sequel trilogy would become episodes X, XI and XII. That would be great!🙏🏻
Nothing will change
As long as Dave "part of the problem" Filoni & KK is still there & its owned by disney there is no hope for Star Wars. It will stay dead.
At this point i dont think even Goerge lucas himself can save star wars, simply cause disney is still attached to the franchise, and after he endorsed bob iger and disney he showed he is willing to play ball with their agenda, so even if he gets involved again with disney still being involved and him showing hes willing to bend the knee to iger and endorse him, his involvement wont really change anything.
Yes it will you seem to want underestimate the power of George Lucas
@@animezilla4486 Bro give it up it's over Star wars is dead nobody can bring it back to life not even Goerge besides he sided with the company that destroyed his legacy don't forget that. I love star wars more than anyone I know but I even admit star wars as we knew it is dead disney killed it and at this point they are destroying it's dead corpse for good measure.
@@J3D1xKN1GHT I respect your opinion but I strongly disagree Star wars is not dead because if people truly believe that why they keep talking about it weather people want to admit it or not deep down they don't want Star wars to be dead and they still have some hope. Besides Star wars is not the only franchise that has serious problems remember what happened to the DCU it has problems from the start but is Warner Brothers are going to give up on it The cinematic universe the answer is no. Star wars can be saved it's going to take time and energy to do it it's no coincidence that George Lucas decide to get back into Hollywood especially with Disney
@@animezilla4486 look man if you still have hope for Star Wars I'm happy for you but for me disney has destroyed star wars beyond recognition, only way I see star wars being saved is if Goerge buys back the rights to star wars and says all of Disney's shows are no longer cannon and he starts the sequel trilogy over the way he envisioned it. But that will not happen, it will never happen Disney will never sell star wars and will never truly change anything, so for me personally it's dead, and this is coming from someone who as a child literally wore out CED and VHS copies of the movies because I loved Star wars so much as a kid and I even loved the prequels, and as a I grew to adult hood I would rewatch all the movies on a yearly basis, but you know what Disney slowly started to kill my love for Star Wars little by little to the point now that I don't care about this franchise anymore, I've now accepted that the Star Wars I knew and loved for me personally is Dead at least for me, and if Disney could kill someone's love like mine for the series I'm guessing I'm not the only one that this franchise now feels like it's dead to them too. But look if you still have hope I'm happy for you, I hope the franchise does turn around I really do, I just don't see a real way that can happen though. Especially as long as Disney owns it. I'm now content to look back at the fond memories of the original trilogy and prequels and for me those are the only real Star wars movies and I'll try to remember those always.
@@J3D1xKN1GHT I get what you're saying I really do and most you feel like the franchise is dead because Disney did not do the franchise Justice like the way you wanted which is understandable that's why I suggested Disney may consider letting other directors and studios take a crack at Star wars Disney can keep the rights but they let the rights to other developers
This is like giving a zombie a blood transfusion
I wouldn't touch a star wars series or movie unless disney was not a part of the production
Too late, George. Too late
"Went off the rails" about 50km!! I'll believe it when (and a BIG if) I see the screen credit only!
Disney is spinning in the wind as usual
This isn’t “Too Little, Too Late”, this is “Nothing and No Time”.
I’ve been done for years by now.
There are three movies, and that’s all.
Not a chance. Anyone not seen GL as of late? The man is old and clearly not in the best of health.
The dude is 79 years old. No offense to him but how much can he really do at this point?
Clint Eastwood is 93 years old and just directed a film.
He can still do something. John Williams is 92 years old or so. Did we doubt his ability to make a score for the latest Indiana Jones movie?
He's a giant, bipedal memberberry for what few fans that remain. Not falling for any of it.
Hayao Miyazaki has entered the chat. Then again, Miyazaki calls the shots without a KK at Ghibli knifing him in the back.
The bigger question to me is how much control he’ll actually have. He can make all the good decisions in the world, but if KK is going to be interfering then it’s all for nothing…
This is a play to raise their stock value by bringing the George Lucas name back to Lucasfilm. This isn’t going to change how Lucasfilm makes their sausage and that’s the reason their productions are dying on the vine. 😞
Nope not buying in on Disney Star Wars anymore, George Lucas or no George Lucas.
Disney will not allow anyone, not even George, to fix Star Wars. Our only hope is to boycott Disney until they lose so much money that they are forced to replace their entire leadership.
And now we understand why George backed Iger in his tweet. The cost of dealing with the devil.
So just more bait and switch got it.
Money heals all wounds
He's got more money than GOD. He has ZERO reason to do this. This is a "prophesysing" to get some attention. It is nonsense.
That's true, if Disney pays me 100k I MIGHT not dispise Disney star wars as much
I don’t need to work OT at work but if they say I can come in on Sunday and Make Double Time I’m there..
I’d say even God has that DT spot
Brought back only in name but not in spirit. There is NO way they will give him full creative control.
Good video Pro and Gang
I don’t give a Sh!t!!
I’ve moved on and won’t be back
Nah. George started getting weird with Return of the Jedi, and went off the deep end with the slapstick comedy with Three-Pio in the 3 prequels, and having Chewie help out Yoda in the last prequel. And don't even get me started on Greedo firing at Han.
I can totally see him joining forces with KK instead of straightening things out.
Somehow Lucas will return articles come out every couple of years. Here's another one!! My hopes are not up (again).
Why does it seem like they’re bringing George back to sign an NDA and sit in the corner.
I don't think that it is so difficult to fix Star Wars. George Lucas only has to:
- Leave his wife in his house.
- Fire KK
- Make everything since 2012, except Rogue One, Andor and the Mandalorian; no canon.
- Put John Favrou in charge.
- Put David Felloni under John Favrou but without decission making power.
- Return to the retirement.
NO ❗"- Make everything since 2012, except Rogue One, Andor and the Mandalorian; no canon." NOPE nothing from Disney is spared
you dont get it, that stuff is not remotely "good"
people only like Rogue One for the Vader scene, nothing else. Mandalorian is a ripoff of Lone Wolf & Cub. It is nothing special. And Baby Yoda is a petty gimmick.
Andor is boring trash and people keep praising it because they are thirsty so badly they will lower their standards for trash.
And you cant have anything from Disney and scrap the rest when all that stuff under Disney all ties together.
So you have to scrap it ALL! All of it.
Otherwise you break the lore.
All must be scrapped.
