I REALLY don’t think he wants this to get to the discovery portion of the trial.
I think him having a Foot Fetish is the least worrying thing about him.
@@forrestdorman4870 When I heard this earlier, first thought I had was 'oooh Dan's going to learn what discovery phase is like'.
I still can't get over how he made a contest where he had kids scan their feet and send it to Nick. Disgusting.
Nickelodeon old logo was a Foot
Nickelodeon and the rest of Hollywood has been ran by freaks like this for the longest time, we can’t let them keep winning. It’s time Dan “Hold her tighter, she’s a fighter” Schneider gets what he deserves.
Yeah right. Unlike Weinstein he crossed all his T's and dotted all the I's. He's safe.
Thing is those creeps creat great content without them you get the crazy activist types who are just as crazy and abusive waybe worse and they can't create anything good. Hollywood is rancid but if given the choice rather have the talented creeps than the annoying ones.

This is one of those very unfortunate realities that I think people try to ignore but it's impossible.
It's kind of like the concept of the tortured artist it's the fact they were somewhat broken twisted people that made them good artists.
The creative process is a strange honestly difficult to explain things and I think people that really know how to do it have something unique.
Unfortunately that typically comes with some kind of baggage case in point Dan Schneider.
@@The-X-Territory well too bad unfortunately good entertainment comes from weirdos.
All That!, The Amanda Show, Drake n Josh, ICarly were our childhoods. But man the toll it took on the kids by these Hollywood creeps is horrendous.
Drake, Jeanette and all those kids deserved better.
Don't forget Zoey 101, in which Jaime Lee Spears was a b*tch that bullied everyone around and Schneider was there to support her... And she got pregnant by a guy twice her age, and a man who operated the lights.
And you think Disney are not still doing this and on a grander scale.. today
Even as a kid watching them parts freaked me out, like the episode of icarly where they put their feet into inflatable pools full of beans, even at 13 that felt off to me
I'll say, when I watched those shows at some point I stopped because somethings felted weird, I couldn't quite put my finger on it but as time passed and saw some again out of boredom I started to suspect the worst and realized why it seems disgusting to me back then. The documentary proved my suspicions right and it was devastating...
Saying your a pervert without saying your a pervert. This so amazingly sad.
I swear Dan has been a notorious widely reviled creep for at least a decade now, but it's only when a TV streaming series gets made that he panics.
probably because we got more focus than the 3 hardcore sex offenders combined
He's not panicking. They have enough money that he can profit financially from the lawsuit.
When you have enough cash to stuff a bulk cargo ship its easy to enjoy your exile.
But theres a difference between LA media industry insiders and media geeks knowing you're a creep and having your face plastered all over primetime streaming so your valet and the guy in the produce mart are all staring.
Plus, having a reputation as retired producer of the biggest Nikolodean hits hits is better than everyone sniggering and pointing at Dan the creepy foot pervert.
Is there any post about him that doesnt involve feet at some point?
The problem is the stuff he did though gross does not in any way shape or form amount to child abuse or a SA or anything like that. It's two very different things and I think it says more about Nickelodeon than it does about Dan Schneider himself. Yeah they got away with lots of questionable some stuff and yes there were predators at the Nick no one is denying that.
But trying to prove that Dan Schneider had any direct involvement in the really heinous stuff would be impossible.
There's absolutely no paper trail of any kind or information that directly ties those two things together. Or at least not in a way that clearly and definitively tells you Dan was directly involved.
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu the show, nor an open secret didn’t make that claim. Its shows Schneider as a creep and a tyrant who should never be allowed to work with children, but neither documentary accuses him of direct crimes. His case seems week to me but we will see what comes out in discovery from both sides.
I recall the infamous story of Liz Taylor supposedly shutting down the production of a film she was working on in 1957 over a ham sandwich (so the media said).
She did in fact walk off set refuse to return and shut down production of that film, but the actual reason was because she saw how certain members of the production side (mostly the director, a few senior crew members and an executive producer) were emotionally, physically and potentially sexually abusing the child actors working on the film.
She had been a child actor back in the days of those horrid "baby burlesque" films and had so many terrifying experiences with on set abuse that when she saw how those kids were being treated she became so enraged that she stormed off set locked herself in her trailer and demanded to speak too the president of the studio.
Her demands were simple:
(A): the director would be forced to apologize publicly too the kids.
(B): the studio would then fire him and refill the position with someone of her choosing.
(C): the studio president would personally visit the set and apologize on behalf of the studio for the behavior.
After days of negotiations the studio finally caved, but the director flatly refused to apologize until liz threatened to go to the press, after that he caved in like a collapsed souffle and apologized before resigning from the production.
Apparently it wasn't a very good ham sandwich very dry
Liz Taylor wasn't born until 1932 and didn't start acting til 1940.
Are you thinking of someone else?
@@curleyqreviews9793 I'm not sure what your point is. If you do the math she began acting at 8 or 9 years old so she was a child actor. She wasn't a child at the time of this film but she knew what it was like.
I heard even Shirely Temple and Juila Garner also experienced similar abuse when they were child stars. Shirley starred in some of those horrid "baby burlesques" films.... and those "films" really seem like the early 20th century equivalent to Cuties! Shirley mentioned that when she and the other kids didn't do what the studio told them, they were locked in cabinets or forced to sit on ice blocks as punishments. In 1940, one MGM producer actually tried to get Shirely on the casting couch when she was 12 and flashed her, which made her felt unconfortable about it. So the producer kicked her out of his office. Being turned down by a Hollywood creep like that unharmed, who got his ego hurt, was probably the best thing that ever happened to Shirley unlike with most child stars.
So these problems have always existed in Hollywood's history, unfortunately. We're talking about the same Hollwood where Roman freakin Polaski is still being defended by some celebrities...
@@electrarebel5610
What made the baby burlesque films particularly vile was that the little girls in them were often either implied to be or outright stated to be prostitites, and the little boys were supposed to be amourus sailiors or johns trying to get in their pants.

The only good thing about powder is that eric clapton song (if I could change the world) from the soundtrack.
That's the entire problem with Hollywood in a nutshell.
They always claimed to be so progressive and so forward-thinking and the problem is that's all entirely surface. Deep down in the core/heart where it actually matters it's very clear everything they say and claim is entirely a virtue signaling and nothing more.

I’m not shocked given Dirty Dan’s accusations and how damning they were. These were there before the documentary and now the doc has made them more wide known.

The man just won't leave feet out through the door
And yet during the documentary Dan made no comment when the producers tried to interview him, he was given plenty of opportunities to share his side of the story.
Why would he? A documentary being made doesn't require him to discuss anything with them. Especially when it's so transparent that they are trying to paint you as a villian? This lawsuit is him calling them out and "sharing his side of the story".

I mean I think he would fully admit there was some inappropriate stuff in those shows and that he did some stuff on set that was less think kosher not to mention treating people crappy including child actors who didn't deserve it. But to jump from that to essay or any kind of abuse stuff that's a pretty significant and unverifiable jump. Also I'm still extremely suspicious of Nickelodeon considering this all happened on their watch and as much as I'm sure they're trying to distance themselves from Schneider for obvious reasons they are equally if not far more to blame for the situation that happened with quiet on the set. They could've put their foot down at any time and they didn't, that alone is highly suspicious if not a flat out condemnation of the entire network.
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu Yeah, there's a lot more that we don't know yet, and that's what makes this case reek: how many others are involved?
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu Yeah, he certainly didn't act alone. Nickelodeon still got away with much worse stuff long after they kicked Schneider out. At least Schneider didn't pander to Twitter or started introducing other inappropriate elements made for "modern audiences" like how Nickeloden ruined Blues Clues, TRANSFormers, and Monster High. Danger Force was a terrible, failed Henry Danger spinoff Nickelodeon made without Schneider that pushes some woke crap as well.

@@marhawkman303 I know, the poor perverts at Nickelodeon are the real victims here.
Never liked any of these shows even when I was the right age. It's no surprise that the people running Nickelodeon and Disney were complicit or participants in the abuse.
Same. I was homeschooled at that age and the only TV I was allowed to watch were PBS Kids shows like _Liberty's Kids_ . Some of my public school friends showed me their favorite Nick and Disney shows. I was aghast. They were really lowbrow, crass, and full of obnoxious characters. The plots were brainrot and the jokes didn't land. I felt like I'd eaten a whole box of Twinkies after watching those 🤮
@@talithakoum3922You’re not fooling anyone. Everyone knows the kids that only watched PBS had no cable.
I was always a Cartoon Network guy why watch Nickoloden when I can watch Toonami
I remeber in her book, the actress of Sam in iCarly, Jenette McCurdy, talked about Dan Schneider using the child actor's actual traumatic life events as inspiration for episodes and it made her feel like he was making fun of her
In her book she either talks aboot a guy she was dating from the show, whom was 32, she was barely 18. He manipulated her into that she gives him head, when she didn't want 2. Either made her drunk a few times. She named him Joe in book, but i think that isn't his actual name.
There is more about Dan that wasn't brought up. One actress from Good Burger or Kenan & Kel allegedly mentioned how in Florida, the teen actors would go to clubs and Dan made the teen girls wash his car in swim suits. Another kid actress from all that was abused both at home and on set and no one protected her.
I watched all 3 episodes twice. They were really careful about not directly accusing him of actual sexual crimes or even unwanted touching of the kids. They sort of questioned his relationship with Amanda Bynes when she was working through her emancipation and how he used to spend time with her alone when she was younger. Still, no sexual accusations were actually levied. That being said, I suspect I know what conclusion many people will make.
I care more about how he badly affected the environment at Nick than about his feelings about this docuseries. He can go pound sand as far as I'm concerned.
Dan Schneider was quiet for all these years after so many accusations and rumors about him came out. And now he's finally suing someone about it now that he actually stands to gain something from it. That just makes him look all the more guilty.
What's there to gain? All he's done now is open the doors for them to look into HIM, as that is what will have to happen to 'exonorate him'. Meaning he's placing a target on his head since, at this point, nobody is going to protect him as it'd be more advantageous to throw him under the bus.
Technically speaking, he only has a case for defamation because the documentary was made. You can't sue people for talking, but you can sue people when they publish something that you can claim is wrong and detrimental. So no matter what it looks like, this is actually the appropriate time to sue.
I've never heard of this guy and I didn't ever watch Nickelodeon so I have no opinion on this situation, but legally, this actually makes sense.
He needs to think about what can be disclosed in discovery. It’s morally wrong to assume more stuff is there but Dan should really think this through.
@@RossM3838
I mean they would actually have to have some pretty serious evidence for the really truly heinous stuff they're trying to say he did. I mean inappropriate stuff, absolutely.
Some gross jokes that he was able to push through (thanks to Nickelodeon itself I'm sure) absolutely. But any kind of SA or real abuse stuff, I don't think so. That would be a very difficult case to prove unless you could actually get people to step forward and say that it happened to them and with some kind of real tangible proof to back it up.
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu the documentary never really says that Schneider actually molested children. It does imply that he and Nickelodeon allowed and even fostered criminal behavior on their sets. Brian peck was only one. Along with his buddies there was the guy from ren and stimpy who openly brags about chasing underaged girls. Schneider comes across as a creepy scary guy who desperately wants to be part of the gang but his behavior, in his mind was childlike” was to the children scary and wholly inappropriate. And when it came to getting his shows done his way, he became a relentless bully. While he never broke the law about child molesting I’m sure that he ignored every child labor law on the books. I have no direct evidence of that can be inferred from what everyone who has ever worked for him has said. A law suit thus is a risky proposition for Schneider. He should take his 7million dollar buy out and retire

Double-entendres being allowed to exist while also having pragmatic censorship of actual harms, that balancing act is important to get right.

Well the thing is a lot of people who didn't watch he show definitely got the impression that Schnider was a ped (given that he has a foot fetish and made underage girls do weird foot stuff he may at least have tendencies) but absolutely no accuses him fo doing anything to kids in the show (beyond the creepy writing and lighter touching) . and according to bell Schneider was there for him when the abuse he suffered came out.... So yeah it makes sense that he may have a case... not necessarily a winner but still
What's really weird is that there are 3 other full on sex offenders covered... One whos diary detailed his desire to kidnap and rape a child, another who gets a episode detailing his abuse of drake bell (that's his name right?) and a third guy who is barely mentioned. Schneider gets more focus than the other 3 combined even though what they did was much more horrific.
Not that I remotely want to defend an abusive boss with predatory tendencies that did some really horrible stuff to his writing staff as well as putting weird deviant stuff in kids shows. But there is bad and then there is seriously bad. and it is weird the show kept going back to him when the others were so much worse ... and one went on to work at disney (season 2?...man that would be twisted but believable)
Again not trying to defend him, more wanting that degree of focus put on the much worse offenders.

Interesting that this is happening a day after former CEO Bob Baskin of Paramount Global Corporation (the parent company of Nickelodeon) was sent to the New York State Department of Labor, Unemployment Insurance Division, aka, the unemployment office. LOL. 😁😂🤪🤣😆😄😊👌
Paramount means nothing, is a Viacom company after all
@@abrahamlupis9354 The parent company was previously known as ViacomCBS, Inc.
Truth is an absolute defense to defamation.
Oh this will be good....he has 0 chance to win this
If this could happen on the Nickelodeon shows, what are the chances of this happening on Disney Channel shows.
I was watching that Victoria show with my daughter years ago and they had scene with one of the boys and a girl in a car and the boy said, "come on it'll be fun".
And the girl replied, "No, I didn't shower this morning and had tuna for lunch".
That's ridiculous. Nobody outright accused him of anything horrendous. They simply alleged what's undeniable: the sexism and hostile work environment he created, which he even acknowledged were true in the video he posted. He also said in that video that he has no problems if all the sexual jokes, etc., are edited out, which, first off, lets us acknowledge that most shows wouldn't even exist if it weren't for them. Secondly, that hasn't happened yet. Now, who's lying? I guess what this lawsuit shows is that nothing was sincere and all just for show.
He’s going to lose and get counter sued if Schneider goes ahead with this lame brain case. Mark my words.
Okay, I didn't want to look into this Dan Schneider stuff because I'd just rather know what I know already, so to speak, but this is just a hoot and a half.
A foot and a half you mean.
@@Ashkihyena Boooo! :P
Can’t a judge remind him that he committed levels of sexual harassment towards minors? So basically he’s suing for defamation because he committed a crime… for years on multiple kids.
Please we need discovery on this and that would be epic and please make it live on youtube.
You do know this isn't a "why now?".... It's been talked about for over a decade.....
Dan apparently does not understand that even if the actors were adults. He was being a creepy pervert. The fact that these were kids makes it far worse.
That doesn't sound like "I'm genuinely sorry" but rather "I'd do it again".
Having watched the docu-series. That he exhibited questionable behavior, that he was in charge and a couple people on the crew were predators. I didn’t see them say anything directly that he knew about it as it was happening or encouraged it. So I don’t know where exactly he has a case.
The NDA are typically 10 years. So if they signed NDAs as teenagers or children their child star shows NDAs would've expired giving them to talk freely without repercussions as long as they're out of Hollywood. Miley, Selena, Hilary Duff, Raven, Jamie Spears and more still in Hollywood have current NDAs signed to keep their mouth shut and employed in Hollywood. Their recent albums or shows have NDAs that are meant to keep them quiet about their childhood experiences.
A nda doenst hold any water when it come to courtcases where mistreatment is involved. A nda only hold up when it comes to company secrets or sensitive information with non released projects (videogames books movies scripts etc etc).
I’m pretty sure Jenette spoke out when she did because her abusive mom died so she finally could speak out
Diddy Diddled Orlando Brown. I believe you now Orlando!
The Diddler is on the run and the Tickler is now suing for defamation against something that he enabled for years now.
If an adult decides you need monitoring for the sake of the kids that are around you then something is very wrong.
His clown ass can be fought in pokemon clover

Ah, back when 4chan was a thriving nation instead of a wasteland
Well the guy who they caught with the whole Drake Bell thing, did go to work for Disney after, I believe.
Yep which Disney fired him after drakes trial or something when it came to light. For that guy the ones ppl need to look at are the higher ups cuz at the trial he got letters of support about his character from lots of actors. Some of those actors have came out now and said they were tricked into writing the letters. So what the higher ups did to trick those ppl into writing the letters should get exposed.
Dan is one of many in Hollywood, and he's a relatively small fish. My guess is that he's the latest scapegoat for something worse.
A look over here destruction
LMAO,he thinks that lawsuit will hold when EVERYONE knows he's a fuckin creep. The AUDACITY
He's suing because he's being portrayed as a pervert but he's admitting to only being an asshole.
16:56 "Get yo mind out da gutta! Get yo mind out da gutta! Get yo mind out da gutta!" As my mind drifts into an odd thought.
I swear he is the father of jamie lin spears kid. Not to mention the rumors of amandas yerminated pregnancies. Its really hard to ignore alot of dans alligations
I am in no way going to defend Schneider. But from what I take from everything that's come to light. He was just a creep and sexualized these girls. A lot of innuendo and such. But let's be honest though. That was pretty much across the board and not unique to him. But they tried to portray it as something he was unique with. But let's be honest, Dana Plato was sexualized in many ways as a child, Drew Barrymore was, the girl from Family Matters. Hell go way back in time all the way to Shirley Temple. It's Hollywood.
I personally discount this whole "documentary" as an exaggerated sensationalized hit piece with the agenda of someone behind it. Simply from the way they ambushed Mark Summers. He takes part because he is led to believe it's to celebrate Nickelodeon. Instead they turn it into all these things about Schneider and all these things that happened years after he left the company. They wanted him to speak on issues and people he had no knowledge of. Of all those they wanted him to speak about , the only one he ever even met was Keenan Thompson. I think he walked out of the entire deal because of the misrepresentation.
And as far as all the inappropriate creepy stuff. Even as producer, there were plenty above him that simply ignored and let this go on. Not to mention child advocates and other professionals who's job it is to be on set and protect the children. Why aren't these people the focus.
Keep in mind, no matter how inappropriate or creepy he was. He and Nickelodeon fired the guy who messed with Drake Bell. Who was then convicted and went to prison.
It was Disney who proceeded to hire that guy when he got out of prison. To work on another kids show at that. They only fired the perv when there was an outcry. They then acted like they had no idea. Which anyone with a working brain cell knows they were fully aware of the guys past.
Schneider should sue. Because his creepiness was bad enough as it was. They didn't need to stretch and exaggerate things like they did and the intimations of him doing more than he did crossed the line.
I hope they bring in the dancing lobsters for this trial
i remember i saw a episode of icarly when my nephew was child and there this one word say "hogknocker"
What does hobnocker mean in British slang?
British slang. According to British viewers who chimed in on parenting forums, the slang refers to someone who enjoys hurting animals. In the context of an insult, this makes sense. Someone who hurts animals for kicks is a jerk. Calling someone a hobknocker is a round-about way of calling them a jerk.
crossing fingers for a Streisand Effect Kneon comment on "he's making us money" reminds me of Ubisoft and Blizzard same thing except they did it to adults
SMH. He has A LOT OF NERVE. There is way too much evidence of him being straight up controlling, abusive, and predatory towards those poor children and other people who worked with and for him. I don’t know what exactly is his end goal by suing, but he is making himself look even more sus by doing this after being silent for years after these incidents occurred, and when some of the former Nickelodeon child actors started coming forward to tell their traumatic experiences. What a POS he is.
There are also some adult jokes on some Disney Channel shows too.
I never understand why people come clean about this stuff years later and all at once.
Maybe because they won't get blacklisted since Dan holds no power anymore
@@eduardopantoja9115 Talk about a sad and pathetic reality of Hollywood that needs to change.
@lonesoul663 People get upset about the victim only coming out years later and unfortunately it's uasssally because of fear of getting blacklisted, signed a contract to keep their mouths silent or knows that if they come out at that time, they'd lose the case for not having the evidence or the money for court yet so it's better to have multiple witnesses instead of one later on
