No royal blood, yet they call the show 'Lion king' - they appear to be admitting they don't know how royalty works,
That's makes Scar the rightful king and was right the whole time. Mufasa stole his throne.
There also seems to be the clear implication that Mufasa was a power hungry dictator who immediately established a 'royal' bloodline and hierarchy in favour of himself and his lineage as soon as he rose to power. 🤔
Sonic movie 1 destroyed Birds of Prey back in 2020.
Looks like Sonic movie 3 will be skinning a lion this christmas.

Sonic 2 decimated the April 2022 box office. Search for "Month to date Box Office for April 2022.". A backlog of pandemic delayed releases came out all at once and only Sonic 2 caught any air.
Then Everything was decimated by the overload of May 2022 releases. In particular Dr. Strange and Top Gun Maverick.
Didn’t the first Sonic movie also destroyed Fantasy Island?

This is why I'm done with disney. Souless live action remake, the generic story line and sequels with 3d are something that no one asked for years. My dreams became reality with a non-disney animated 2.5d and2d animated movies. Disney is no longer taking risk for a new ogrinal stories in 2d animation. Disney is dead.
If I founded an animation studio, I would troll disney with 2d animation and disney will be dead.
I thought it would be cool showing like cub Mufasa being raised with a Hyena and the whole pride gets along, but the hyenas are constantly trying to ruin it for the hyena cub who doesn't want to live in their society anymore.

I'm sick of CGI. I much prefer the days of "Homeward Bound" and "Babe" when animal movies were actually live action and not just uncanny Valley cartoons.

Mufasa was never an outcast and never not royalty. His father was King and Mufasa revered him, and the wisdom of kings passed from generation to generation. They're destroying this history and lineage and like basically making Mufasa the start of the lineage, which completely throws away the whole king of the jungle concept and shit.
Basically, Disney has no idea what it's doing, has no idea what to write for Mufasa, so they just take Simba's story and just hand it to him and repeat the same beats.
I genuinely think it makes Mufasa look bad, it makes it appear that he's immediately established his own bloodline as the 'royal' bloodline and done everything he can to exclude any 'outsiders' from an opportunity at becoming ruler themselves as soon as he rose to power.
To be fair it could work if it were an Aladdin type situation where the royal blood comes from Simba’s mother instead of his father. Simba’s ancestors would still be the great kings of the past and Mufasa would be a warrior king who earned his crown by winning the heart of the lion princess when he saves her kingdom.
@@cathygrandstaff1957 it wouldn't because Scar said himself he was next in line behind Mufasa if the fur ball (meaning Simba) wasn't born. And Scar isn't related to Serabi. And in the live action it's implied he was actully in love with her. So no that doesn't work at all.
If Mufasa and Scar aren’t actually related, or there’s no royal bloodline, or Scar is retroactively made into some misunderstood villain, I’m going to be pissed

Mufasa's the last character who needs a prequel. He's got a tragic end in his first appearance. What's seeing him become king going to do? If it was a TV series to teach Simba how to be a king by learning through tales of his father's failures, it'd mean something. Unfortunately, it's modern Disney, and they're already gutting everything that made the original character great.

Reminds of the Angelina Jolie Maleficent movie from over a decade ago, and that sucked, too. I saw it back then, wanting to give a "new spin" a chance, but the more I watched it, the less I liked it until I realized it was just a waste of time. I'm glad I could see it then because it saved me thousands by not seeing anything else ever since, as much as I hate to say it. I was once a huge Disney fan.

@@TheRadioAteMyTV My guess is that with most 2D and 3D animation usually characters are stylized to help the story. The Lion king remakes are basically trying to emulate National geographic footage with computers. There is a lot of technical prowess but creatively It looks cheap and lacking.

I think the Hollywood nepotism used to be easier to take because the kids of celebrities at least TRIED to be good at acting. The general level of talent was just higher in the past. People are sick of the BS mediocrity being treated like golden talent.

Some things should stay dead
Whenever Disney starts sinking make sure Iger and friends don't abandon ship. They made the problem they'll go down with it.
Hollywood frowns on established bloodlines, until you look up the bios for most actor/producer/etc in modern Hollywood.
Until Disney goes back to Walt's and Roy's vision, every movie which tries to erase or revise what has been... like this movie... will be a hard pass.
BTW, only Joseph Williams can really sing, "I Just Can't Wait to Be King."

There was only one Walt, and sadly he is gone. Ron Miller did his best to keep the ship going but he couldn't and Einser created the renaissance but at such a cost the talent fled due to exhaustion. I had high hopes that George Lucas would take over, but that went 180, then I crossed my fingers that John Lassater would do it but that got squeezed out. Now the underground wants Kurt Russel, and who wouldn't but we need a young Charlie to take over the factory and there is no one of worth holding a golden ticket. : (

The animatronic one from the BBC version looks better. It actually manages to look sad.

I won't be surprised if Disney ends up blaming Sonic the Hedgehog if Mufusa flops because Sonic 3 is sounding much more entertaining.
As for the Nepotism that Mufusa is having, I think it's fine if Beyoncé wants her daughter to play as Kiara. I find it cute seeing a parent & their kid having a scene together & I know that 1 of my favorite English anime voice actors is a nepo baby. Like, I didn't even know that Bryce Papenbrook's father voiced Rito in MMPR.

When Scar told Mufasa "Lets Fu**ing go" was my favorite part.
He's no longer voiced by James Earl Jones anymore either. As if I needed another reason to watch Sonic 3 that weekend instead of this movie.
I've seen some people claim to be excited for this and all I can say is *WHY?* The plot sounds like dried zebra dung and the animation is even worse than the first one, the characters don't even look like they're in the landscape.

The nepo thing isn't that big a deal. If she sucks then her acting career really won't go anywhere. But if she's good in it then she deserves to be in other things too. She also needs to know to come off as ultra-humble in interviews, and not a brat like Jayden.

Am I the only one thinking it is amusing that they made Mufasa adopted since inheriting the throne is bad but they also choose the voice actress for his grand daughter since her mother is famous? Nepotism is just bad when others does it...
