if you’re kind for them and there for them in their life it’s likely they will. Can’t speak for individual circumstances of course but I’ve never accepted my stepdad due to his poor treatment of me. However my dad’s new partner has kids and even grandkids who all accept him as part of their family, the grandkids call him granddad and seemingly prefer him to their bio granddad lmfaoo. So yeah, kindness and time. I wish you luck
I have two dads because my parents split and mom remarried when I was young and they're both my dads, that's just how it is. But I still don't know what to call my stepdad, because "dad" is taken and "Ronnie" feels weird, so I just dance around having to directly address him with name or title. I only really call him dad around my little siblings (his bio kids). He knows though. His number is saved in my contacts as Dad 2 (used to be Darth Vader, which he found hilarious), and I call him on father's day too. The way he grins and puffs his chest out proudly when I say I grew up with two great dads is one of the sweetest thing I've seen that man do
this hits on a whole 'nother level when you consider how often guys quickly get into new relationships and marriages after a divorce just so they don't have to parent their kids
I don't know her dad and the whole context, what were his intentions to marry so quickly but I've seen it happen very often with people I know and some stepmoms I know were truly witches they actually hated their stepkids and put their bio children above their partner's children. Like, physically assault the stepkids but never daring to touch the bio kids if they did something wrong.
My dad did the same! He got married couple of months after my mom died, and he actually married a woman with the SAME NAME!! I guess he thought we wouldn't notice, but come on dad, how is mom suddenly fat and has an accent now 🤷♂️
I call my stepparents by their names, not because I don't think of them as parents, but because they don't have to be "Mom" or "Dad" to be family. What matters is how you feel about them, not what you call them.
I knew what death was as far back as i could remember. Your mother's weekly threat to kill you does not have much power if you do not know what death is.
i sell hamsters and it honestly cracks me up when parents come in in the middle of the day with a picture of a dead hamster trying to find the same one before their kid gets home from school 🤣 happens more than i expected
Yes and no. TBH, I'd of course be jealous but I'd also be happy that my kids had another adult they could love and depend on to that level. I guess it comes from almost losing my mother twice once as a kid and once as a YA and there was no one else for us except her.
My husband's daughter calls me mom. I cried the day she called me and asked if she could. She has the most wonderful biological mom as well. She's mom A and I'm mom B. When mom a remarried, I gently reminded my husband that he was 100% ok with me being mom, so to remember that if he became dad b. Turns out, he did and our daughter is extremely blessed because we all love her to pieces. It takes a big person to want what's best for the child and not let ego get in the way. We have nailed coparenting better than anyone I personally have ever met and I hope other couples see us and learn so to better the lives of these children
I think if it happens in my lifetime that my child/children ever gets a step parent, it might make me feel a bit confused or reflective(?), however, if I died and they do it, I don’t necessarily think I’d have a say lol that’s for my spouse to deal with.
I can’t speak as a parent, but in Taylor’s case her mom died, so I guess she can’t say so much wether or not her kids calls another woman mom or not😅 Also in my case my mom low-key abounded me so calling my step-mom “mom” seems justified lol
I completely agree. You have one mom and dad, they shouldn’t confuse themselves. In many cultures the step parent would be called aunty or uncle or just step mom or step dad. I feel like only Americans are obsessed with creating multiple moms and dads. It’s not real.
You just have a double standard. Male comedians make jokes about sex all the time. Either you can relate to those more so you find them funnier or you’re just misogynistic. I assume you also have a problem with female rappers.
@carlycasper7884 maybe I do. I just find that a lot of female comics rely on those jokes much more heavily I guess you could say. I don't listen to much rap, but usually the female rappers are my favorite.

When they did get a new one they remembered the color but not how it looked. the new fish had an extra fin. I thought it had grown it during hibernation. I also now know that animals that do go into hibernation dont sleep 24/7 for months it's just a deeper sleep for longer periods. 🙃
Dude! That's awful. What kind of fish was it tho? Is it at all possible they waited that long because of $$ being tight for them when you were little?
@@oohmisslady money was tight every once and awhile but it was a beta fish... the ones in the little cups at the pet store for like $5 lol. But I'm the youngest of 6 siblings. I think a couple had moved out by then but she was busy and i didnt often ask questions I just observed things because I thought other people didnt like questions. So it's not like she was getting reminders either lol. My sister has never really liked not having everyones attention so that's why 'on accident' was in quotes. She still struggles not having a lot of attention. Shes 30.
@@oohmisslady the she at the beginning of my last comment was referring to my mom. Forgot to clarify.
@@maryharbaugh9069 man, I'm sorry! Yea...Beta's are affordable fish from like PetSmart honestly. Even when money is tight you can afford the $10 to get a new one *usually*. As a parent currently I have had to delay replacing certain things for my kids because of finances but still. I communicate with them about it so they have an understanding that I know something needs to be done or replaced. But there are other pressing things right now that need to be done first.
She’s become really really good. A fine comic, someone who honed her craft and it shows
🏆✨
My mom remarried when I was ~9 and not long after my bio dad… kermited sudoku (don’t wanna anger the YT overlords). before that my mom had told me I could call my stepdad “dad”if I wanted to. I tried it once, it felt weird, now I only do it sometimes when talking to my sister. It’s funny tho, I say “my sister” rather than “my half-sister” and I’m sure our older brother says “my sisters” too
I really hope my partner's kids view me as a mom one day. 🥺
if you’re kind for them and there for them in their life it’s likely they will.
As a stepchild kids know if you're trying to be a good parent to them. Do your best and be yourself, they will love you.
❤ happy mothersday
I have two dads because my parents split and mom remarried when I was young and they're both my dads, that's just how it is.
But I still don't know what to call my stepdad, because "dad" is taken and "Ronnie" feels weird, so I just dance around having to directly address him with name or title. I only really call him dad around my little siblings (his bio kids).
He knows though. His number is saved in my contacts as Dad 2 (used to be Darth Vader, which he found hilarious), and I call him on father's day too. The way he grins and puffs his chest out proudly when I say I grew up with two great dads is one of the sweetest thing I've seen that man do
“This is Lisa” had me laughing so hard for no reason 😂
this hits on a whole 'nother level when you consider how often guys quickly get into new relationships and marriages after a divorce just so they don't have to parent their kids

Dark comedy 🎭
So so talented and funny. You never fail to make me laugh and cheer me up
Omg I am that step mom 🤣
This slaps as a resedental school survivor with a string of mail order brides 😂
I would love to see her in the same room with Jeniffer Lawrance. that would be a hillarius encounter!
Every time I see a new (to me) clip of Taylor’s standup I’m always blown away. One of the best comedy talents out there, young or old, that I know of.
The beginning is so good😂
My dad did the same! He got married couple of months after my mom died, and he actually married a woman with the SAME NAME!! I guess he thought we wouldn't notice, but come on dad, how is mom suddenly fat and has an accent now 🤷♂️
Very funny chick
She is really funny!
I call my stepparents by their names, not because I don't think of them as parents, but because they don't have to be "Mom" or "Dad" to be family. What matters is how you feel about them, not what you call them.
Mentally unstable +microphone + stage = depressed comedy
Yeah if u were in a therapy session i think he might take some notes💀 but i love the humour
There is an opening. 😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂 she is hilarious
Meanwhile as a farm kid one of my 1st memories is butchering rabbits. It was good father son time and the rabbit stew was good.
😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
I knew what death was as far back as i could remember. Your mother's weekly threat to kill you does not have much power if you do not know what death is.
i sell hamsters and it honestly cracks me up when parents come in in the middle of the day with a picture of a dead hamster trying to find the same one before their kid gets home from school 🤣 happens more than i expected
Your dedication is inspiring.
Would it bother you if your child called someone else mom or dad??? It bothered the shit out of me.
I can’t speak as a parent, but in Taylor’s case her mom died, so I guess she can’t say so much wether or not her kids calls another woman mom or not😅
Also in my case my mom low-key abounded me so calling my step-mom “mom” seems justified lol
I completely agree. You have one mom and dad, they shouldn’t confuse themselves. In many cultures the step parent would be called aunty or uncle or just step mom or step dad. I feel like only Americans are obsessed with creating multiple moms and dads. It’s not real.
Finally jokes that are not about a woman's sex life
No thats mom she just bites now 😂
Such a clever humor, loved it
She's so good! It'd also refreshing to have a female comedian who is good and doesn't rely on "look how slutty I am" and vagina jokes.
@@derekarnold3767 Usually the same people that hate on female comedians were also really upset by WAPP. If you are perfectly fine with women rapping about sex I’m curious what the difference is to you.
I agree! She’s very talented and I can relate and laugh at a lot more of her jokes compared to someone like Amy Schumer
