Disney is DESPERATE for Disney+ Subs! It's FREE for Kroger Customers?!

- Disney seems to be giving away the store... to the grocery store? Kroger delivery customers will reportedly be getting Disney+ for free, which will massively boost Disney's subscriber numbers. But even Netflix realized that reporting subscriber numbers quarter after quarter is futile.

Disney about to ruin Kroger too.
Oh boy, I guess I will only be able to shop at Meyers now.

They act like Disney+ is their sole future. It shouldn't be.
I don't understand how Disney plus can be the future if they refuse to create good content people want. They can only ride the fumes for so long.
They’ve been putting all their efforts into it assuming it’ll be the answer they’ve been looking for. Funny enough the people are showing a massive rejection of it.
It's Bob Igers legacy, of course he's desperate
@@keithmichael112Yep and it’s laughably ridiculous. Also what the heck are they even doing with the Kroger grocery stores eh?
Unfortunately, Disney has prices people out of the parks. Their agenda has pushed fans away from their IP. A free Disney+ account is a new account for numbers sake only. Just like their free hundred dollar gift cards. Use it or not they already counted it as a sale.
I will never understand why Disney wants to fight tooth and nail with customers and investors for them to struggle. Their mindset is a mystery.
X-Men 97 is a win they desperately needed.

They're so bottom-of-the-barrel they're tacking D+ to Kroger. Lmfao. Their desperation is delicious.
This is how bad they’re doing as a company when they stoop to this level to try and get back the revenue they’ve been losing.
It’s as if perpetual growth doesn’t exist, who would’ve thought.
...at this point, I won't be surprised if Disney pays subscribers to keep the numbers up.
why do you think the sub count is high, they were giving away packages, even my cable provider was trying push that crap, i refused
Disney is truly desperate if they have to resort to this tactic.
Disney must really be desperate.
Padding Numbers like a Politician!
Unbelievable
Free subscription with hormone replacement next...
more like hormone blockers lol
This almost seems VERY pittyful to me
Paramount Plus did the same thing last year with Wal-Mart Plus to boost their numbers. My mom has it because she use to be a walmart worker and thus got it for free but she hardly uses it, so not sure how much this plan helps Paramount.
Giving away Disney Plus will look impressive the next time Iger's leadership is challenged but it will not make them money, if didn't help Paramount.
Time to release the profit charts instead.
I think there's growing consensus that they're padding subscription numbers to make it look appealing to investors but not giving the complete picture of how much money the company spent and how much money they're actually getting.
Yep, Walmart made all of their employees sign up for Walmart +, which boosted Walmart's subscriber numbers, and it also helps Paramount's numbers.
@@squirreltacticsSo basically a numbers scam then.
@@srichael2713 Yep, they even went so far as to charge the associates for the subscription then refund the amount on your check, that way all the employees come off as paid subscribers.
The Walt Disney Company will have a problem with this.
Cincinnati, Ohio-headquartered Kroger Company is in the process of merging with Boise, Idaho-headquartered Albertsons Companies, Inc. However, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is against the merger. Disney will have a problem trying to get new subscribers.
Indeed, there's a lot of weird stuff with the merger, including that the Albertsons stores are union and the Kroeger stores aren't, which is going to be really fun for them to sort out.
Is tehre any big merger teh Biden/Khan FTC is *for*`?
@@KetsubanSolo Wouldn't that also depend on the state? Of course, it'd be interesting in the places they both have stores in but most likely they'd rebrand the stores. Or they can keep them separate with 1 brand known for higher quality (and higher prices) while also benefitting from a greater purchasing power for products, thereby saving getting goods to sell to customers. Could also just close all those unionized stores where there's non-union ones too if the merger is completed...
So that's one Big Mac, a medium fries, and a shake. Do you want Disney+ with that?
Disney has no shame
What a shame it went down hill.......FAST

A whole lot of homosexual programming for the kiddies.
It’s almost like nobody wants to sign up for it by itself
I don't even want their garbage for free. I'll stop shopping at Kroger before I let them give it to me for free.
No dought Kroger will force this on smiths too.
Please do a video about how Disney Plus just picked up _The Chosen_ , a Biblical drama from Angel Studios, and the show is outperforming every original Disney show on the platform. 😁🕊️
I wouldn't take Disney+ if Disney paid me!
I wouldn’t want D+ if it were free. I hardly watched it in the couple of months that I had it.
This makes me angry. Now I have to buy Disney+ with my Kroger + subscription.
You don't have to if you don't want to. If the Kroger+ sub won't let you deny the option for D+, then maybe it's time to switch stores. Up to you no matter what.
@@NatYourAverageNerd Yes, I agree. There are alternatives to Kroger. Alternatives that allow me to purchase a product without forcing me to buy a streaming service. Disney+ is retched streaming service as well. Sick how Kroger is going to force their customers to buy it to prop up a dying company.
Kroger trying to get rid of expired products.
Most people can barely afford groceries just to get by for the week,we bought about two weeks worth of groceries a couple of days ago,and we spent almost 230 dollars, for two people.
Disney might as well team up with Red Lobster and local malls 🤣👌
I go to Food 4 Less- which is a Kroger grocery store. But as my mom already has Disney+, it won't be much use for us.
Here's something to think about- Tubi's viewership is just below that Disney+ & may soon surpass it! Disney is going to have to do better than this if it wants gain & keep subs.
Hopefully Tubi's numbers grow
They got some decently good shit
Including some of the classic cartoons from Hanna-Barbera like The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Yogi Bear, Jonny Quest, and some Scooby-Doo shows. Heck, Tubi has some classic Tom and Jerry shorts as well.

Can also add Willow and National Treasure.
@johncampbell3390 and the Muppets, who are pretty much forgotten about unless there's an event for Kermit and Piggy to host. And it never occurred to anyone that any, if not all, of the live action remakes would have done better as Muppet movies.
@@zacharymcmillan2788Same with The Lion King also ruined!
Let’s not forget the owl house.
Just because it was “too dark”
To explain the Beatles confusion at the end of this video, Disney is remastering the Let It Be film from 1970. It was their last film and album together before their break-up, and it's the same footage as was used in the Get Back documentary. The difference between the two was that Get Back was a lot of archived footage from their sessions at Twickenham Studios, and using that footage highlights a lot more of the positives of their work together. Whereas Let it Be, arguably, portrays more of the strain and tension between them as to showcase more of why they decided to end the band.
I wont take anything from Disney till they have a woke clear out. I refuse to give money to people who actively hate me.
Disney+, free subscription included with every birth certificate... look, we have billions of subscribers!
Nothing can make me give Disney plus a sub! What would I even be able to stomach on that damn app?
What shocks me is not one investor is asked how many people are actually paying for Disney Plus...
Maybe they are curating the people asking the questions. That's certainly something I'd ask, how many are paying for it directly, not through some deal.
I just want my groceries not your stupid streaming service Disney.
This is one of the many reasons that Disney knows they are in way more trouble than they are letting on. Even with the Mustafa being down voted to oblivion as well as the Acolytes, when was the last time Disney actually did something that really wowed fans? I think it's been years! We know Marvel and Star Wars are underperforming but Disney brand may actually be more tainted than they realize.
Some of the Muppet stuff has been good, but it's very few and far between. I wish they'd just sell them to a studio that does something with them.
The owl house finale?
@@CubeytheawesomeGood example but outside of Disney Television Animation, Clone Wars Season 7, Spider-Man No Way Home and X-Men 97 they really haven't done anything that's wowed fans since Avengers Endgame.
Next step is to start showing their new movies at gas stations and count you as a sub everytime you fill up your gas. Because they know if you are still going to the theater to see their movies you likely will be phased out soon by evolution or natural conditions.
Imagine getting *DESPERATE.* 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Disney should have cut some sort of partnership deal with Netflix when the MCU was worth a damn and skipped the streaming wars entirely. They probably would have made more money in the long run as they wouldn't be stuck with huge costs of maintaining this middling streaming service that is struggling to earn any profits.
I would rather drink Budlight than let Disney around my children
Haven’t checked lately how IS bud boycott these days? Oo
@Niterayde i dont really drink, so i didn't really help much accpet with spreading the word.lol
@@Mr-mopar I feel that XD I’ve been sober for about 9 years now :) but I spread the word hard for the BL bs XD
There’s no Kroger’s by me. But even if it was, I wouldn’t be interested.
They would boost their subscriber numbers a little bit more if they eased up on the stupid password sharing crackdown and punishment and added the Aladdin series and Jungle cubs.
Imagine the overcounting. Verizon customer is in the Kroger program and had spectrum Cable - that one person is now 3 subscribers to Disney+
Since the summer of 2020 'events,' supermarkets (and other stores) here in L.A. may lose THOUSANDS of dollars each DAY due to shoplifting.
Oh yes, more Disney's magical math. Free gift cards count as sales, redeem said gift cards count as sales. Free Disney+ accounts are still Disney+ accounts, even if there is no profit in them.
Nice little racket,ain't it? 😏
@zacharymcmillan2788 Disney has an army Gordon Ramseys doing their bookkeeping.
They are upset there is a ceiling to this kind of stuff. It's number massaging and it's desperate.
I find it super annoying that even when you pay for Amazon Prime you still get commercials now. It wasn't like this before and this just keeps getting worse. When I still lived in Georgia where Kroger was somewhere I shopped everyday. I still wouldn't use this because I don't care about that streaming service at all. If I want anything from that company I will purchase the physical copies like I have already. I seen enough of what they had to offer and there's not enough to draw me to pay a dime on it. All the best Disney stuff is the older days long ago. It's rare they make anything these days that appeals to me or my partner.
What percentage of people walking around the parks are actual customers who paid for their own trip?
Many are annual passholders, packaged deals and free passes from employees.
D+ should work with state DMVs, maybe , to get more subscribers.
Yes, automatic subscription to D and registered to vote democrat (no other option). 😅
I'm waiting for purchase 24 cans of Coke Zero and get Disney + free for a year promotion 😂
Those poor unfortunate souls!
Duck Fisney, they went full predictor. It is time.
The free Amazon music was a limited library with very low quality streams. It was never comparable to even free Spotify
This is exactly why Netflix decided to post their profit instead of subscriber numbers. Disney are always figuring out ways to inflate their subs. I am pretty sure they fix up the earnings a bit too but if they do it too much, they would instead show how badly Star wars and Marvel are doing. They probably try to charge whatever they can from their parks who still makes money (and besides some of their hotels really are their only thing that earns them money by now).
Disney is sweating over the flow of money maybe if they focus on their own theme park and quit the wokeness they would do much better
I know Walmart has been including Paramount+ with theirs. EDIT: looks like you mentioned it straight away. 😆
Wait, what? I get a not-a-cable-service along with coupons? I just signed up for the coupons. And when they include it with your AT&T for a year, they count that to.
People who have their groceries delievered usually shut ins. Some for medical reasons, most for psychological reasons. They love Disney, either for the the memberberries or the ideology depending on which class you're looking at.
Because it's all about the kind of numbers that don't keep you afloat financially, babyyy!
Good I’m glad to see them go through this we’ve had with the likes of them
I have a Kroger not far from my place, but I've only been there once. It was more expensive than HEB, so I've always shopped at HEB instead. I see no reason to change that habit.
Ironically, those new Mickey shorts were some of the only *good* content from Disney+. Paul Rudish honored Walt and the classics where Bob Iger disgraced them.
Having to pay in order to get ads shoved in my face is not my idea of a deal.
If Disney started making good programs and movies instead of propaganda, people would be more willing to give them their money. It also wouldn’t hurt them to stop attacking the people who call them out for leaning so heavily into social and political issues. They should go back to being a family entertainment company. They were good at that.
The only thing they have going is Disney channel. And even then it’s only like 4 shows currently running.
Big city greens, Kiff, moongirl, and that one with the hamster that’s funny.
That is Hamster & Gretel. There is also Hailey's on It.
@@Cubeytheawesome Disney Television Animation is the only thing they've head going for it the last 5 years tbh.

I’m not saying it’s bad, just not for me.
I'm really disappointed the upcoming Jim Henson documentary is on Disney+, I don't want to give them money or a sub number. Although if I only get it for a month, at least I can watch all the old, old stuff and maybe confuse their algorithm a bit.
Fun fact: The Jim Henson creature shop made the animatronics for the five nights at Freddy’s movie.
@Cubeytheawesome I haven't seen it yet, because I'm not a FNAF fan, but the animatronics did look amazing. I just saw today they're building a lion that's going to actually walk around the Boston Public Library, and I'm making plans to go see it.

Desperate times need desperate choices
Either Iger’s or Kennedy’s accountants will find a way to allocate money wasted, I mean spent on “The Acolyte” against the original Star Wars trilogy so they can continue to minimize royalties paid to Lucas, Hamil, etc.
How about a news article about that item your mouse is on? "'Alien' joins old movie hits returning to theaters aching to fill empty seats." That sounds pretty interesting. That sounds more along with what many are seeing with the latest round of Hollywood flops.
There is a deal through the military exchange system too
Ok, so they fudge the subs numbers but if ppl aren't watching then the viewing hours aren't going up and their ad revenue Is going down.
i loved the part wheen you scrach the bananas and you could win an Disney+ Subscription
Disney+ would already suck less if they kept their promise and put ALL of the content on there. There still no alluding or arielle TV show or rescue rangers or captain balu...
It might be from Kroger's Boost subscription plan.
Share holders 'Come on infinite money glitch gotta work this time"
Kroger? Of all grocery stores Kroger? Talk about desperate.
Do Kroger employees get Kroger+ free just like how Walmart employees get Walmart+ free? If so, then it is also counting every employee as a new subscription.
It's not surprising their business decision is a poor one. The Disney company is Bob Iger at this point, and he's going to do whatever it takes to make himself look good. He's on borrowed time, but that doesn't really matter.
The desperation reeks
X-Men 97 while being one of the best animated revivals probably the best in the Action genre and Marvel's best Animated series in 14 years is still one show and one show no matter how good it is will be enough to boost subscriber numbers. 2 or 3 might move the needle but certainly not 1.
Exactly. One show being decent doesn't help them. They need multiple wins in a row. Big hitters. X-Men 97 does not do that for them. They are still in the red and will remain in the red. They need hits in the box office, multiple, and I don't think they have that in them.
There potential biggest hitters are funny enough in their woefully neglected Television Animation division (DTVA). Seriously Since Gravity Falls so many of their series have fandoms essentially screaming for Merchandise.
i don't think i have that here
Kroger can do this but can’t pay their workers more?
They couldn't pay me to subscribe
That's effing sad.
Nobody wants the ad tier of D+, they will get more sub numbers (and that is all they want) but they are not going to get more eyes.
Will they have any crossover between the companies? For example, of you watch 3 episodes of Ashoka will Kroger give you a free can of soup?
Instead of boosting subscribers, Disney should expand their programming to better films and series so that their past customers may return. Their current lineup is terrible and or boring.
Disney is so desperate to make Disney+ a success!
Just a way to stack numbers.
By next year Disney+ will come with a Happy Meal.
I got almost all disney stuff i want on physical media blueray. Only the classic stuff. Almost all the 2d animated series/movies. The only 3d film i have is Moana. A movie that DOES NOT NEED A SEQUEL. Disney can lose all the money for all i care.
