I am 100% about merit based hiring. That being said, I am also 100% about people laying in the beds they've made. If Disney replaces a black ABC pres with a white one I will add it to the list of things that I run my mouth about every chance I get.

I cancelled my cable tv subscription many years ago specifically because I didn't want any of my money going to the news networks anymore.
The GMA situation was on their afternoon show. The anchors married to others were apparently "anchoring" one another off the air.
I can imagine a scenario where if all mention of gender, sexuality, race and political leanings were removed from a group of candidates resumes, most people would choose the highest skilled candidate while some other people would not be able to make a decision without knowing the candidates gender, sexuality, race and political leanings despite such things not being relevant to the role.
All this tells me is that Disney is to big for their own good and should be broken up and sold in chunks, after demoting Iger and his lackies to (Drum roll)

I had bosses like this in the past. My last job they hired a knucklehead and he was making statements that were clueless. He said he was going to disrupt another team and that team lead had %25 of the stock in the company. I told him good luck so he said I was going on a PEP. I found another job and he didn't even finish the year before they booted him, what an idiot. I was able to relocate, buy a cheapish house at 3%, and found a great stress free job (there is stress now because of the state of tech in my business). There are so many clueless managers out there.
Anyone notice how the first man to do stuff tends to be humble or just not talk about his achievement. And the first women to do stuff is either so quite she is forgotten or a raging narcissist.
And I mean people who actually DID something. Not some guy that is a jerk about a speed run recorded.

Funny you bring up that story about one of your former bosses. I had a very similar thing happen at a 5 star hotel that I worked at in the past that was hands down the WORST job I’ve ever had complete with the most horrible boss I’ve ever worked for. This guy too was a complete micro manager and a total nepo baby. As this guy was our hotel’s Food & Beverage Director yet was CONSTANTLY micro managing basic staff. Something up to that point working in hotels that I had never seen. Not to mention he was the same age as me at the time. Being only 30.
Now this guy was constantly getting people fired. And he actually took joy in doing it. As he would do things and put staff in positions to where they had to complain. And the only place they felt they could complain was HR. Something both they and myself didn’t know at that time was a BIG mistake. As HR departments are NEVER on the side of employees.
Anyways long story short. We all worked together documenting all the harassment that this F&B director was committing for over 6 months. And once he fired me I then completed our little documentary on this guy and mailed copies to the Hotel Manager. The Hotel GM, HR, the Union and the EEOC. And within about a week my coworkers told me that the GM called a meeting of all management in the hotel. Apparently it lasted for hours. And after that the F&B director basically just lived in his office for the next couple months.
Then this hotel tried to challenge my unemployment benefits. We ended up all going to a hearing with a judge and they were so arrogant. For one they showed up about 15 mins. late. Upon which the clerk wouldn’t allow any of their evidence to be admitted for the judge to review. So once we went in before the judge they were just completely belligerent and disrespectful. So much so that the judge kicked out the F&B director. And I ended up winning the case. I soon found a new job. But ultimately decided to go to the union and take them to mediation. Where I again won and they had to offer me my job back. Which I of course refused.
But the cherry on top was that that asshole F&B director had recently bought a home in San Francisco. An expensive one at that. And after losing the unemployment claim case. And then the mediation Corporate had gotten wind off this F&B director. As more and more employees were now following my lead. And even though this guy had been gifted this job since his father was on the board for this company. He was forced to transfer to a much lower quality hotel. Basically a MASSIVE demotion. Which in the hotel industry basically paints a scarlet letter on you. But that’s not all. He had to end up selling his SF home and move to another city.
So I’m the end don’t ever let these type of bosses push you around, harass or threaten you. As there are clear paths you can take to really get back at them. I just hope that he learned his lesson. But who knows. That guy was a real arrogant prick. But definitely got knocked off his high horse.
When will the megacorps get disbanded and dissolved? Where are the antitrust laws?

Once the government gets disbanded and dissolved for the same reasons. Society needs to return to having monarchs. Corrupt republic and democracies eventually turn into dictatorships.
Lobbying is legal bribery so unless we can pass legislation banning money in politics nothing will get better.

I stopped watching TV years ago. I start reading books and watching CZcams, sometimes TikTok, and sometimes animal planet
I haven't watched ABC since before 9/11. When they hired Clinton's Chief of Staff, I stopped watching. And reading some of the comments about that knucklehead online, it looks like I chose wisely distancing myself from ABC.
Realize this: all of mainstream media, the Big 3 (NBC, CBS, ABC) are mouthpieces for the DNC. They are just more comfortable showing their true colors for the last 30 years.

I watch a few good ABC shows, including "Celebrity Jeopardy!," "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune," "Monday Night Football," "9-1-1," "World News Tonight," etc.

But, TGIF, Family Matters, My So Called Life, NYPD Blue, All American Girl, Modern Family, The Goldbergs, The View (Until 2019), ABC Nightly News, Fresh Off the Boat, Scandal, Roseanne, America's Funniest Home Videos, Roseanne and Grey's Anatomy, Lost and Twin Peaks will always be Classics.

If they think Disney has destroyed their brand really bad already, then releasing the woke Snow White movie, probably the biggest original Disney property, is going to do immeasurable brand damage to Disney. They would save money and what few viewers they have left, if they just destroyed every copy of everything that has already been filmed of that disaster. I don't care anymore if they do or if they don't.
