www.swimtechnique.tv/equipment/
I’ve been at swimming for over 20 years but never tried a monofin. Today, I’m excited to share the experience.
One of the greatest recent changes in swimming history resulted from improved underwater dolphin kick technique and accurate streamlining.
Consistent use of Monofin will help you to achieve better streamline position, greater flexibility and strength within all core leg muscle groups*
…and Rapid Series is ideal for your daily training.
www.swimtechnique.tv/go/competitor/
Competitor Monofin features a hand tapered fiberglass blade that provides speed, flexibility and maximum distance per kick.
Improve your underwater kick. It’s just fast and so much fun to use.

    It would really help (me) if you could say what you think of, to time the two kicks to the pull. Am I right that the big kick is a natural flow from the catch (or the reach); and the small kick ... what? :) From other videos I have got: 1. there is a big kick and a small kick; 2. "kick hands in, kick hands out" Any thoughts? Anyone ? :)

    In the past 20 years, I have changed my swim strokes from all disciplines because the techniques have improved that have proven to be less injurious to me. Form does beat strenuous effort because much struggle without proper form wastes energy and reduces the stream line effect. I never use straight arm pulls. To get faster, I rotate faster my upper body and keep my legs as tight as possible when doing my kicks in freestyle stroke. Your goal is shallow sculling with the high elbow form and not long deep sculling with the straight arm approach. The straight arm is still a valid method but it requires a ton more strength to pull it off for any type of distance in which the vast majority of the public will not be able to do properly, and they will injure themselves in the process. Yes, I do hear that some people prefer the straight arm, and if you can do it without injuring yourself then that's good for you. My experience tells my I can alter my stroke depending on the situation and I do not have to rely on a straight arm pull solely to generate speed.

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV Před 4 lety

      Thank you! Having technique with elasticity in place, flexibility, strength, fast tempo, great balance between arms and legs are just a few factors that contribute to the speed. The success doesn’t come overnight, but consistent practice, video technique analysis will bring you closer to your goals.

      @@SwimTechniqueTV Up for the challenge! Used swim over 6,000 yards in my youth! Swam at college level. Remember training at the swimming hall of fame...synchronized swimmers were in the pool next to us. I may post a video! Do you do egg beaters holding a rubber brick above your head? Is dolphin kick or the frog kick used in synchronized swimming. Thanks!
