    First try to practice it without the wall. Let's say you've reached half way of the pool on your back and then do the flip. The key here is to bend your knees and throw your legs back QUICK! After you practice it, count how many strokes it takes you to reach from flags to the wall. It's definitely a technical piece but a very quick transition when swimming IM.

    I got dq'd this weekend in the 200 IM doing this turn. They said I was fully submerged going into the wall although I didn't do anything different than I always do. Going to have to work on it with my coach this week.

    since i tried this turn and love it now, this turn is very easy to execute and i think its faster, i just wonder why many swimmers dont adopt this? maybe more suitable for people with shorter legs like myself.

    I wanna learn it.. but, It looks to dificult. How Can I practice before make a mixed?? I was thinking that maybe when I'm training 25mts backstroke I can finish each 25 with this turn... just for learning how to do it ... or not??

    this is the suicide turn, the bucket turn is where you lift your legs up, and rotate your body horizontally

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 7 lety +2

      Thank you for stopping by and providing feedback. Essentially, there are three types of back-to-breast turns allowed: (Open vs. Bucket vs. Cross-Over) The last one is maybe what you are referring to! Cheers!

    How do you guys know that you're near the end?I'll probably do that without reaching the wall lol

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 6 lety

      Thank you for your question, Trisha! Usually competition pools have flags on each side of the pool which helps swimmers to determine when they approach the wall and ultimately do the turn.
