      Years of practicing make it look easy but nothing is impossible and everyone can do it if enough practicing and dedication. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for watching!

    I've just had my second swimming lesson today. I've been doing breast stroke. That underwater dolphin kick looks amazing!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I will ever be able to do that one. I didn't even know about butterfly or dolphin lol.

    Thanks so much! I was about to write the coach in the nearest biggest city as to what are the drills like...being in the rural areas and no coach is pretty hard...so, having a video like this gets me back to doing what is important....refinement of strokes that are still being refined after more than 40 years away from competitive swimming...now, I can hold my own with occasional coaching and determination. Many thanks! PS I love fly even at my age...hahahahah!

    thank you for great videos, special this, I'm practice within this, and notice that the hardest drill is dolphin kicks. So I think it's better if we start dolphin kicks wt swimming float first.

    Thank you for your question! Freestyle kick + butterfly arms will help you to build stronger abs, legs (those two are extremely important), as well as eliminate any pauses you might have in your stroke. And in general you'll build a much stronger core. Try to go 50 or even 25 with this drill and tell us how you feel after :) Thanks for watching!

    Really want to build on my butterfly, but i'm struggling to see the purpose of some of the drills. I'm guessing single arm strokes teach you to improve balance and underwater dolphin kick is to build up speed and power but the freestyle kick + butterfly arms seems a little ambiguous to me. Can you please elaborate?

    It all looks so much easier when you don't have to worry about breathing. I assume the pool is 25m. Do you do workouts like this? As in one breath per length?

    If you straighten your legs a little more you make more speed without as much effort. You have to do less strokes per lap, which makes you faster. This also means you have to breathe less

  • @theuglynakedguyfromfriends8134

    Are fins recommended when doing the drills

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 7 lety

      +Mourad Cheikh Thank you for your question. It depends on what the drill is and what part of the swimmer's technique you are working on. Generally, you can include occasional use of fins when doing swimming drills.

      SwimTechnique TV Thanks for your advice. I used to breath on the left side when doing freestyle. So, I find it hard to breath on the right side when doing the right arm drill. Please kindly advise. Thanks!!

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 10 lety

      ***** We recommend to practice both sides while practicing. And when you are racing you can breath the side you are most comfortable with. Thanks again for your feedback.

    Drills rather for advanced swimmers than ones learning how to swim better. I noticed that swimmer was not taking breath or taking it once per length, which is really hard to maintain. I can perform butterfly strokes and they are easier than those excersises to me.

      jiraphat klong Arms are not the only part in butterfly swimming that are important. Try working more on your abs, and lower body. Kicking can help you throw your arms above the water. Hope those little things can help you improve your technique. Thank you for watching!

    Hey Phil Pain, I dont think thats true. Just because you swam in the past doesn’t make this powerful drill what you are trying to say. Butterfly is tough and these exercises get swimmers prepped.
