    Thank you for your question! When doing underwater dolphin kick, yes (you can see it in our video "Butterfly Underwater Dolphin kick"). When its just a regular kick on top without the board, you can keep it in front of you just make sure your arms are together at all times.

    The core muscles are the key to keep your arms straight and that's what this exercise is good for. Try not to think about arms and work only with you lower body, be elastic. Practice it every day and your butterfly will be amazing!

    i have one question. Souldn't you keep your head beetween arms? Instead of keeping above arms and also water.

    Hi, last swim season I was in excellent cardiovascular and muscular shape. I would constantly surpass my teammates in butterfly drills such as this, with minimal effort. But when I attempt the full butterfly stroke, my shoulders would burn so badly that after 50m my pace would fall apart. What can I do to minimize this pain?

    How do you keep your arms straight? I tried this drill above. Arms were dancing. It's a kind of difficult to keep them straight.

    I have a question, shouldn't he keep his feet straight to push water not only when he kicks down but also when he lifts his feet up?

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 9 lety +3

      Marcin Gardjew Thank you of your question. Not sure if you can kick with feet being straight more efficient than the video demonstrates.

      Body elasticity is definitely a factor in butterfly swimming!

    Is it OK and comfortable to bend the back that much? I sometimes find it uncomfortable... probably it is just me?

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 10 lety +2

      Depends on the flexibility level of your body! It's always easy to hurt yourself without proper stretching and develoving flexibility. Make sure to do those two every time before you get in and start working out. Thanks for watching the video!

      I tried not to bend much, but it move forward slower than more bend, also i noticed that when I made a wave using my arm, it also helped me to move forward faster rather than keep my arm straight.

    Dolphin kick is much easier & looks better without the arms. The hard part is to combine with both arm movements AND breathing.

    Can anyone tell me whats the reason why the pool’s flooring is like that??? Thank you

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 6 lety

      Thank you for your question. The construction on the button helps younger individuals and adults who learn how to swim to transition from shallow end to deep water, and eliminate fear factor of not having anything to support from the bottom.

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 6 lety +1

    is that glass under you

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 10 lety +1

      Connor Rohm it's not! The construction on the buttom of the pool is for teaching kids/adults swimmng. Since the pool is quite deep it gives the support underneath and helps overcome the fear of deep water. Thanks for your question and watching the video!
