You are very welcome! Just remember to always stretch before any physical activity.

I don't understand WHY I would do this relative to other drills. Can you explain the rationale for this drill?

Thanks for the explanation... one thing I can imagine right away is... I'll need a break after the first time I try even a 25m swim for this. ;) These old bones don't work quite as well as they used too... especially around the middle. :)

Will you please share with us some of those sources that told you that? I personally competed in many meets with world class athletes and it was great to see what they do for their warm up. Most cases it was towel, comfortable spot, and 15-20 mins stretching :) Again, thank you for sharing with us your swimming experience. P.S. You can PM the links. Great day!

Actually that's one thing I do NOT do. I definitely move the arms to get them a little limber, but then I build a 1250 m free swim to warm up. I use the term "build" loosely, it more to just relax and get thing moving... after that I stretch the shoulders and every set after I stretch, but not really before. I've read in many places that stretching before results in more injuries that it prevents and given that I'm still uninjured after swimming for several months... they might have something.
