Where is this swimming pool? I want to swim here! I'm in Korea and we only have shallow pools which takes away a lot of fun =(
Mike Lee Current pool is located in USA. We agree, shallow pools are great for learning swimming whereas deep end can be a lot of fun for advanced swimmers. Thank you for watching!
SwimTechnique TV Thanks for the reply! I think there's something special about your underwater videos. Watching it makes me get up and jump into the pool. Keep up the good job! =)
I am a beginner for Breaststroke.
Looks like you perform a kick in one move, but I do it like two separated step.
For example, you have to put lower legs outside to secure the momentum you make when you kick, right? But I put my legs together after the kick is over, it is wrong, isn't? The question of mine is that how I do the kick like your video?
0p
There is also 2 pull 1 kick and 1 kick 2 pulls :)
How do you take a pull without taking a stroke?
+Max Marshall Did you mean 'without taking a breath'? There should be the right balance between your legs and arms. There are two kicks per stroke. The first kick occurs during the catch phase, whereas the second one during the finish phase (when you are finishing pulling your arms underwater). The right balance will allow you to keep your head in the water while pulling. And of course, you would have to take a deeper breath if you decide to breath every other stroke. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
I am swimming everyday for like a hour or two depends on how busy i am on that day. I never had professonal training but i just love swimming and do it all the time. I got a question about my breaststroke swim: i have formed a bad habit with my breaststroke swim which I strike and kick almost at the same time(i mean while breathing, i strik but i can't help folding my legs.). I can feel the water resisdence every time when i am breathing. Unfortunately, i have been doing this for a few years, getting really tricky to change it. As i can see from your drills vedio, you strike first and while your arms reach the furthest you quickly fold you legs and kick.(Is that right? XD)Do you have any tips that i can practise and change this stupid habit? Thanks very much man. I just watched your Drills vedio, and i am going to try it tomorrow morning. :-D
What is the purpose of going fast for 25 strokes?
+marshall886 We assume you meant 25 meters and not strokes?! As may know, the purpose of any drill is to work on that particular piece of the technique. After a few drill exercises it's a great way to put everything together and perfect the technique with 25 fast swim. Cheers and thanks for stopping by!
Yes,thanks for that. Now I know why I tell my students to do it.
What is the difference between a 'pull' and a'stroke"?
marshall886 Thank you for your question. "Pull" is for arms only, whereas 'full stroke' combines both arms and legs.
Gotcha.
The sequences for the first drill is wrong, you should start the cycle on a kick.
No, I was incorrect. You started with a long stretched streamline position. That's correct, sorry.
Thanks for watching!
