    You are very welcome! And yes, there is bit motion going in your arms. Try to keep them still and just work with your lower body. However, your elasticity is great! Keep up the good work and thanks for watching us!

    this is a pretty difficult technique. squeezing your butt to the rhythm of the swim will give you a little extra speed and give a stream line movement.

    You probably have some motion in arms and thats what causes you propelling downwards. Another possible reason might be lack of oxygen and your body instead of floating starts going down. So, try to take a deeper breath before going underwater and eliminate motion in your arms. P.S. Its nice to hear you are doing this exercise after workout! Usually we do 8x25 underwater on 1min interval after each workout.

    It took me no time to learn propel with the dolphin kick. It's not my favorite post-workout exercise. Lately however, I've been having difficulties trying to maintain a straight path. I always end up propelling downwards. Do you have any advice how I can maintain my level while propelling?

    How do you prevent water from entering your nose? I struggle with uniformly breathing out the water through my nose I can either breath it all out at once (through nose) or I just wear a nose plug but that prevents me from breathing properly.

    So, I've just started swimming last week (only been in the pool 3 times now) and I can feel my stamina is really bad, which means that I can't hold my breath for that long without getting a "drowning" feeling. Non-the-less, I've tried to the dolphin-kick but failed miserably as the technique somehow made me swim backwards instead :/
    I was staying near the surface though. Is it easier if performed deeper underwater like in the video? If so, I guess I should do some more lengths before attempting.

      Thanks for your feedback. We'll work on the tutorial in the nearest future. Regarding the training for underwater kick try working on the streamline push first and then incorporating kick with it. With underwater kicking the strength of you lowers body, elasticity, and streamline are the major keys.

    I can't help but move my hands up and down slightly. I find that it helps loosen my back and make the dolphin wave motion a little easier. I also feel like I can generate more power with a looser back. I noticed that in this video, the swimmer's hands do not move AT ALL. Am I doing it wrong?

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 8 lety +1

      It is important to achieve still upper body whereas lower body remains very elastic. The reason is you want to cut through the water and eliminate the resistance. When your arms are still and folded in streamline the resistance is minimal. Thank for watching the video!

    Do I need to be more flexible in my shoulders?

      you do need strong abdominal muscles to do it though. when you tighten your core, not only does it provide a platform for your powerful kicking, but it also stops your upper body from moving so much, which would create resistance and slow you down. basically, the more rigid you are, the more force that can be created :)
