    That back to breast turn was crazy, I need to work on mine.

      London Reinhard I know! I repeated that part of this video several times at 0.25 speed to really examine how its done. The only way I knew to turn from backstroke to breaststroke was to turn around your body in the last stroke of the backstroke to proceed to a basic flip turn. This is very cool!!

    When you breathing less in butterfly you can swim faster. However in first 50m butterfly it is important that you breath as much as you need to save power for the rest of 150m!

    Very cool video. Variety of angles and camera motion give a full perspective on how to swim proper IM. Thanks a lot!

    Nice! I've been in swim meets for about 4 years now, and this is amazing! On freestyle just remember to do about 3-4 strokes before taking breaths.

      iiMisty they have already replied, but when you do 200 m individual medley in a race where you use the most powerful but energy-consuming strokes in all forms, the muscle fatigue and stamina consumption are considerable towards the end, especially the last 50 in freestyle. Sure you can do no breath in 25m, one every 4 strokes in 50-100m, but you'd be breathing more frequently in 200 freestyle or medley for oygen needs. I saw one of Michael Phelps' s 200m individual medlay in 2016 Olympic, he was breathing every other stroke in freestyle in the last 50 m.

    Great technique for all strokes!
    Nice quick breath, EVF elbows on freestyle ( removing the small hand pause in early begining of the catch will be almost perfect) , and excellent breaststroke glide between strokes.

    For the swimmer's freestyle, is he turning his head for every stroke cycle in order to catch a breath on every stroke or to catch more water and have more reach? Wouldn't turning his head on every stroke create more drag?

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 9 lety +7

      Mainly for the purpose of breathing. Keep in mind the further you go throughout the race, the more oxygen your body needs to supply the muscles. Especially for distances like 800 or 1500 free you see athletes breathe every other stroke. Thanks for your question and watching the video!

      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 7 lety

      That's impressive! Glad you are getting back to swimming as a part of your rehab. You can break 1K the way you like it, however, it's always good to start from stretching and easy warm-up, depends on what the goal is, and then move into more advanced sets.

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 6 lety

      That’s is correct! In butterfly and breaststroke both hands must touch the wall at the same time. Hope the meeting went well!
