    Thank for sharing with us your experience. Like any other skill, treading water require some practice, desire and ability to learn, dedication and passion for swimming. However, there is nothing impossible but each person is unique and requires a special approach in learning and teaching swimming. Thanks for watching and we wish the best in learning this beautiful sport.

    Thats right you can always tread water with your arms without relying on legs. Cool stuff!

    I agree, everyone should know how to tread water at least for the safety reason!

    If I had to involve kicking for treading water, which is better breastroke or freestyle?

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 6 lety

      Breaststroke kick (alternate legs though), otherwise, freestyle kick is fine!

    • @SwimTechniqueTV

      You can add breastroke or freestyle kick which will give your body more support.

  • @SwimTechniqueTV
    @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 10 lety

    You can just make sure you don't use legs and that will work fine.

    Well it depends whoever is out there but I guess for most people it's quite doable since great portion of a human body is water therefore you can float in the water. ;)

      Because when your lungs fill with air, you become more buoyant.

    i have fear of deep water, how can i reduce it?

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 8 lety +2

      At first you need to start feel 100% comfortable in shallow water and then gradually move to deeper pools. Just like with any skill, swimming takes time and practice. Thanks for stopping by and watching the video!

    For some reason I am heavy in water and just sink no matter what I do. I can take a full deep breath and fall right to the bottom of the pool and lay flat on my back not even trying to float. I have tried many many times to swim ever since the early 80s and with out floats I would drown in seconds in any water over my head. I would give anything if I could do this!!!!

    So you dont need your feet at all right?

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 9 lety +1

      That is correct! However, you can include breaststroke kick to it but using your arms should be just fine! Thanks for watching the video!

      if you struggling use your legs

    • @seikibrian8641
      @seikibrian8641 Před 8 lety +3

      Some people float better than others (buoyancy), due to having more subcutaneous fat. If you're very lean you may be less buoyant, and just using deep breaths and arm sculling may not be enough to keep your nose and mouth above water. If that's the case, you'll need to kick; maybe just a little, maybe a lot. Everyone's different.

  • @Freptboy
    @Freptboy Před 6 lety +1

    I don't understand how come not to use your legs for treading water. I try this I almost sink down.

    • @SwimTechniqueTV
      @SwimTechniqueTV  Před 6 lety +1

      At first, it might be a challenging task but you can try including either flutter kick (known as freestyle kicking) or breaststroke kick for more advanced swimmers.

    • @mromneyobama
      @mromneyobama Před 6 lety

      You don't need legs to tread by yourself. Legs are used when you can't use your hands like when you're holding/saving a baby or kid. It is tiring to use legs and should only be used as last resort. If you're sinking just by using hands, the technique is wrong.

    • @NissrineA74
      @NissrineA74 Před 5 lety

      Mitt Obama actually the legs are more important. Watch treading by water polo players. They train them to tread with legs only with hands up. Good luck

      It's never late to start learning. Start from easy exercises and then move on to more complex. Humans don't learn how to walk right away. Same with swimming, it takes some time. Thanks for watching the video and good luck!

    This dose not work for everyone only for those that already has good natural buoyancy!
    I'm 37 and have tried to learn to swim for well over 20 years and can't swim at all with out a float belt and arm bands. I would sink like a rock without them!!!!
