Ukraine need at least 500000 more soldiers to retake the ground. I don't know if this is possible. Russia is fully commited to the war. Thats different to 2022. I'm not so convinced. And Russia is willing to take big losses to reach their goal. Is Ukraine prepared to do the same....i'm not so sure. Equipment will not be the biggest obstacle...it will be manpower and the will to take big losses. Hard times ahead, but managable.

So continuing to deny them fuel, while their political structures start to implode, their critical infrastructure collapses and their conscription age population continues to flee are all relevant and will almost certainly play a large part in their eventual defeat. At the end of the day, the war only ends when the fighting stops. It makes little difference precisely where the fighting is happening. Even if it’s all the way back at the official borders, the war is not over until the protagonists stop trying to advance. The order to cease fire can only come from Moscow and Kyiv. I believe Moscow is closer to the point where that’s their only option than you give credit for. If things continue as they are, the forced and unnatural alliance between natural enemies within the russian Federation will break down, along racial, religious and cultural lines and at the same time, the authoritarian power structure will become increasingly unstable, due to trust issues. I have not yet given up hope for 2024. Your analysis assumes a stable russia continuing to work towards a known objective. That, I believe, is where the weakness lies. I think we’re already seeing poo starting to fight for survival and we’ll soon see the factions taking advantage of his weakness.

Soldiers are not getting delivered by western allies, especially not the quantity needed. You say managable, but we all have to acknowledge russia is taking it slow. Longterm support will be there, but significantly less the next years. The Ukrainians proved their bravery. If we see the situation at the ground, it will only get worse. Morale, azow and depleted are only a fraction of arguments speaking for negotiating. If we look at demographic data, the damage to Ukraine and especially it's future is devastating. Facts are, Ukraine is short of men, eu is not war ready until 28/29 and russia will alway be ahead of quantities. In my view only poland would be ready. We see increased radicalism especially in religious areas, if war goes down it will be many fronts. Also the whole defending the democracy narrative went in to the toilets after Isreali war crimes. What im trying to communicate is, that a prolonged warfare will damage everybody. And i don't think ukraine soldiers want negotiating to happen befote Kiev falls or we get a new gov. The only other solutions are Trump, Nuke. I don't think the war will end after putins death. The systems in russia are still tuned to keep hardliners in line with conflicts abroad. Changing that requires a new worldwide security architecture, which would also include the us and Isreal following the law. Until that happens there will be a new conflict after the old one closes. To solve this, it's important that US politicians see the problems their own population has as dangerously as they potray iran. While strengthening international entities. I don't think humanity will survive without solving that issue.
