The number of old tanks Russia is able to restore per month from old stockpiles will likely go down since they most likely restored those in best condition first. Gradually it will take more time and resources to restore the tanks as they are digging deeper in the soviet scrapyard.

@Georgijs I am also a little bit positive about the USA passing the aid bill now, after the Iranian attack on Israel. I commented on Telegram this morning, that it would be pretty ironic if Iran were to blame for the MAGA-maggots finally having to give up and pass the freakin' bill once and for all.
If the European shells arrive (I assume that they need a few weeks for the shipment), the F16 in the air and the US finally moving their fat arses there is a chance to stop the Russian offensive cold.
We also need to consider what we are seeing right now on the battlefield with what seems a lack of IFV. It may be that they are saving up for the summer, but yet. In some places the orcs have been using Ural trucks.
We may also want to factor in the flooding of the BMP plant near Orsk, which is said to be the only one able to produce and repair the newer BMP models.
And sanctions! The company that operates Russian arctic icebreakers is broke. This means serious problems for the operations of the oil and gas platforms. For now they have had to stop LNG production. The effect of the sanctions seem to be gathering momentum.
I am moderately optimistic.

The "West" gives impressions of weakness, timidity, acting like shrinking violets or shrinking phalluses. I smell something rotten in MAGAt Land. The MAGA leadership told everyone else not to wear masks, not to get vaccinations. Sure, many of them have better health insurance and live farther away from the crowded urban areas. But Trump knew the viruses were dangerous. He spoke this in private among a closed door meeting attended by fat cats with no press allowed. Fortunately, someone secretly recorded it.
Why did I bring that up? Because MAGA knows what Putin is up to, & they are intent on pulling the wool over everyone's eyes except Russia. If Russia increases in power, they will betray MAGA Republicans just as they've betrayed everyone else INCLUDING THEIR OWN COUNTRY.

Looking at all the russian action done on golf carts and regular trucks right now already, I'd consider "2 years of comfortable supply" to be quite optimistic in favor of russia. Apparently, some units don't have a single armored vehicle left as we speak already.

This image of Ruso/Soviet "might" vs what economists were saying before their 1st collapse is eerily similar to what I witnessed at the end of the 1970's here in the US.

Regarding your idea to have western air forces fighting (defensively) in Ukraine, I have to say it would be unworkable militarily and unsupported by the majority of the populace in most western countries. An increase in air defenses, supply of American aid, and most of all, abandoning the proscription of using allied weapons directly against targets in Russia would go a long way towards really helping Ukraine.

they can if they sue for peace from the new and other information. ukrane is mostly a conscript armey. Most of the well trained guys are either dead to badly wounded or are being held back for emergencies and senses. ukrane has been taking big loss ever sense the "great counter offensive" morale is probably rock bottom

I think two years is a bit pessimistic. Yes, they can continue for two years at the present rate, if nothing else goes wrong for them. But I think we can rely on Ukraine to ensure things DO keep going wrong.
We’re already seeing their fuel being limited. We’re seeing their command structures getting hit, repeatedly.
Nature is also going to keep taking a hand in the matter. Money for infrastructure maintenance has been diverted into the war effort and, because russia always sails very close to the wind on maintenance anyway, failures are already occurring. Any minor delay in maintenance is likely to result in a failure.
We saw the heating ruptures all winter, which was only the beginning. Now we see the flood protection measures failing, and not just in one place. They’re pathetically unable to respond appropriately to these disasters and, thanks to their own actions, there’s no incoming humanitarian aid, which would normally be lining up to help.
No matter how downtrodden, brainwashed, or just plain stupid the people are, they can’t put up with that indefinitely. There’s no way they can continue out of control, like this, for two years.
If nothing else, the fuel will have run out.
