@@rickyspanish1590 I think that you lost the plot. If Russia isn't issuing mobilizations like Ukraine does - that imply that Russia's losses are at expectable levels. You see.. when it comes to watching war in internet, one can start believing that if there are over 100 of videos with casualties on Russia's side, that is somehow will be multiplied by x10,000 or even more times. When in reality i bet that losses are somewhere between 40,000 to 60,000 with over 100,000 of wounded. As for Ukraine.. who cares how much they lost really? It's a war to the last Ukrainian as Sleepy Joe said. So if it's 1 million losses, there is still about 3-4 millions to go. It is what it is. Russia have no other choice but to destroy entire Ukraine to the last Ukrainian. Only then they will be allowed to get away from this war. But in that case that would be considered as a total defeat of entire NATO. NATO has trapped themselves by waging proxy war against Russia by hands of Ukrainians. There is no way out but either you defeat Russia, or Russia defeat NATO and completely eliminating US influence in region for many years to come. Hell, i would even argue that after such defeat, NATO will be dissolved in about 10 years after due to severe political, social, economical aftermath turmoil. But we will see.

"The aid bill passing in October would have prevented all this"
No, it really would not have. The collapse of the Ukrainian military began last year after the disasterous counter offensive.
-Most of the Ukrainian veterans, the ones that were treained extensively by NATO advisors before the war, are dead. The troops that trained in Germany, Poland and the UK during the first year were supposed to make up for that, but were wasted on the counter offensive.
-Fresh recruits conscripted by press gangs off the street and given barely two weeks of training have neither the skill nor the will to fight a brutal war of attrition like this on the front lines.
-The west is completely incapable of keeping up with the demand for artillery ammunition, and throwing money at the problem only made it worse. Lack of resources and industrial capacity has resulted in the price of artillery ammunition skyrocketing. Ukraine has completely lost the artillery war.
-The Russian military is adapting to the flow of the war now almost daily. Improved tactics (compact small unit assaults with artillery and air support), improved technologies (FABs and tank ECM systems) and a massive leap in behind the lines recon capabilities.
-The sanctions have not only failed to seriously damage the Russian capacity to wage war, but have actually backfired.
Ukraine will lose this war. The only question is how long it will last and how many lives it will cost. This aid bill will only prolong the war, it will not change the overall outcome.

The issue of mobilization and those who can be returned to Ukraine from abroad raises another interesting topic. Namely, this is the problem of immigrants from Ukraine since 2014 due to bans on Russian culture and ethnic harassment. Some of these people have already returned to Ukraine, but it will be difficult to mobilize them from the Armed Forces, since they are fighting as part of the Russian army. But a significant part of such Ukrainians, even after leaving Ukraine for Europe, did not show sympathy for Russia. However, now they are being forced to make a decision, and they may be forced to agree to participate in the war, but to participate in the war on the wrong side, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine count on. These are the side effects of ethnic cleansing. You will not hear about this from Western information sources, but there have been cases when Ukrainian military units did not surrender to the Russian army, but simply defected to Russia. Including those armed with samples of Western military equipment.
What would a military man do if he received the necessary military assistance - he would distribute it in the most dangerous areas and try to keep it as long as possible. Keeping it as a reserve in case of difficult situations. Especially if you are not sure when the new reinforcements will arrive. In this case, it would not be particularly noticeable that the APU has become stronger. It wouldn't show up right away.
What would a propagandist do if he received military aid, he would concentrate it in one place, trying to achieve some noticeable result for the viewer, even if it was temporary. We have the opportunity to make sure who exactly controls the army of Ukraine. With one "but", the West can prohibit spending this aid on propaganda campaigns.
I looked at the place of the AFU counteroffensive in the area of Chasov Yar. The question arose - how crazy do you have to be to get to a place that will not just be surrounded, but which is already surrounded?

I think the Ukrainian's who did fight showed incredible strength against a bigger Russian army. Most of us thought this would be be over in 3 days and it is looking more like 3 years before Ukraine is fully defeated.

This war should of never been fought and could have been avoided several times. The global elite are feasting on the Carcus that is Ukraine only the bones will remain then the elite will move on. If they hadn't wasted the last massive round of "aid" on a failed offensive they wouldn't be in this position. Blaming your allies for your own failure isn't a good sign. And anyone who thinks US will fund proxy wars forever hasn't paid attention to history. Well for that matter, nobody who has ever been stuck fighting a proxy war on behalf of the US has ever "won". Being caught between a hammer and an anvil is never great, unless you want to be forged into something new by your own destruction.
When they went on the offensive one of the first things I said was, Why not use that force to push back the Russian flanks around Avdiivka. Instead they came up with a half ass plan that did everything except shore up their defenses.
His friend is right, IF the US funneled unending weapons into Ukraine, Russian advances would be slower and Russia, they wouldn't be fighting at these towns and they even might have needed to escalate to further destruction in regards to civilian targets, energy targets etc, instead. Additional Aid will lead to a longer war, that's all.
Give Ukraine enough aid and they will literally end up fighting to the last Ukrainian, which at this point in time seems to be Russia's actual war aims. Ukraine won't be much of a threat to Russia if they have no male population. Honestly, it's a war a attrition, the front line changes are interesting, but his friend kind of misses the point of these battles, which is the destruction of People, not really the collection of more wasteland to defend. Russia loves to attack places that Ukraine will defend at all costs for a reason. Russia does not believe the war will end due to a shortage of equipment or by taking enough land to force Ukraine to surrender, they believe the war will end when Ukraine runs out of men to fight.
When I served my Job description was "To Close With and Kill the Enemy". Short and simple, get close enough to kill them, if they want to come to you so you can kill them, that works too. The job of the Russian army is to Close Contact with the Enemy and Destroy them, in many ways they would prefer to have the Ukrainians bring the fight to them, but when they won't the Russians attack key areas, which forces a fight so they can kill the enemy. Everything else is really just secondary to that goal. Unless Russia has a plan to occupy All of Ukraine, and they don't, then there will be no surrender due to Russian storming the capitol, like in WWII Berlin. This means essentially that Ukraine Can go on fighting to the last man and probably will unless they come to their senses and toss out their failed leaders.
I don't think Trump will stop this, he was behind the latest aid package, it was his idea to make it a loan and his idea to force Europe to match the funds, He huddled with Johnson to hash out the details.

@@banta-pd8zj 1) that's a semantic argument. Call them whatever you want. I shouldn't have to explain the obvious. Everyone knows that the USSR defeated Germany.
As for the million of Ukrainians, it's about the same now. The Ukrainians in the East supported the Nazi's, the ones in the Donbass supported the USSR. So where does that get you? It's a wash, they cancel each other out. And you missed the point. The Point is that the war isn't going to End the way WWII did with a complete surrender and collapse due to territorial losses. It will end when Ukraine runs out of men to fight.
      2) First they threw a coup, then they hand picked the new government, then they funded a civil war, then they gave more and more weapons and training and the NGO's went to work, the CIA put bases everywhere and helped train people, etc. etc.
Again, I'm not sure what the point of the question is. The fact is that they ARE in a proxy war. They are 100% reliant on the US and everyone knows it and other than you I don't think anyone is questioning this fact. The US is waging war against Russia, using Ukraine, whether or not they
Choose to be victims of this plan or have a plan of their own doesn't change this fact. (and considering most of the soldiers are drafted it's hard to claim that they wanted to go to war.)
Pawns, whether they Choose to be used as pawns or not are still Pawns and they can be sacrificed. The US has a LONG history of sacrificing their pawns. That's another FACT that can NOT be disputed. We Love to get people to fight for us and then turn our backs on them or straight up turn them into enemies. Ask Saddam about that one, Ask Noriega, or the Taliban. How about Vietnam? We left and our congress stopped arming them.
Ukraine is being used as a Pawn, they might think they are playing their own game but it doesn't work that way. They are trapped, because of their dependence on our weapons and I'm sure by now they know it.

Serious trees bush and the hills made it hard to find a good firing position and trajectory. Sounds like a movie scene but he went away for toilet and just missed getting bombed but some of his gun crew were killed. He always had a distrust and didnt like Japanese the rest of his life because of some horrific stuff that happened.

A RUSSIA MESSAGE TO THE WESTERNERS
(Drang nach Osten).

How come Ukraine - with a population of millions - has a lack of recruits is never discussed.
Maybe the fact Ukraine consists of 50+ ethnic groups with only few of those groups identifying with the philosophy of a 'pure' ukrainian state as promulgated by those with the de-facto power in Kiew.

a third of its citizens ran away right at the begining, maybe not because of the war, but because its a dump, but the war gave them the excuse to leave. Just look at how much of Ukraine is under Russian control and ask yourself why have did so many people run and haven't gone back when their parts of the country have never been affected.
