I hope Macron doesn't backtrack and that he stands by his statement. We need him on the side of democratic Europe since France has nukes. Not because the populations are scared, but because our politicians are scared. If France puts us under their nuke umbrella, many smaller nations can provide boots on the ground for Ukraine. Let's see if YT c€nsors this comment.

I’m not a fan of Macron but I think the penny finally dropped after Navalny’s death that there was absolutely no redemption for Putin or Russia. At least he’s now talking the talk, which is a start.

He's trying to get an angle against the Front National for the upcoming elections in France. He needs to be seen as strong and autorative. Hey, if it profits Ukraine I'm all for it!

Macron is absolutely not trustable. Actually, he is just in campaign for European elections, so he is making speeches where he promises a lot. But we must not forget that last year, he said that we should not humiliate Russia.
For his 2017 french presidential campaign, he used the same companies as Trump
In May 2017, just after his election, he invited Putin in Versailles.
For the 14th of July 2017, he invited Trump. And during the next 4 years, they will be often together.
He is also very close of Putin and speaks to him in familiar terms.
So this vest reversal that started last 31th December is just an electoral posture.
And if you want to know why you should never trust Macron, just take a look to the mess he created in France since 2017. Each time he is speaking is just to divide people, not to bring them together.

My estimation of Macron has risen 100 %. His earlier stance not wanting to embarrass Putin and provide an off ramp has passed. He has woken up. Lets hope the rest of the West wakes up as well. Slava Ukrani. Europe has to do most of this themselves. USA is no longer a dependable ally.
