15:55 *BAD TO THE BONES*
Two things 1) I out-and-out reject the advice you've been given to fast travel to locations. Fast traveling is fast, yes, but you miss out on combat encounters, which does mean less chance of death, but also no chance of exp. Getting to your destination and being severely underleveled isn't great. 2) The [small trinket] part of your stun rod indicates that the stun rod contains another item; a small trinket. Might be worth knowing what that is...
This is still one of the best
If you fast travel it'll pull you out of it when you get lost or attacked and you'll have to travel a bit to find your bearings. As you level up and get better at traveling you'll lose your bearing less often, so experienced travelers get places faster. No matter what you get to enjoy some of the random generation. You'll die before you get there if you don't use quick travel my man.
This is really cool ! I hope to see more episodes !
Each 'parasang' square, is made up of 9 zones with the central zone displayed on the map. Use it to navigate and find POIs, the game is absolutely jam packed so definitely narrow the search for useful things (they also happen to be the more scenic and beautiful set-pieces!). Hope that clears the navigation up a bit.
finding your channel is like an entire cavern full of gold and steel
Beautiful video and art, im very impressed! Reminds me of creating little characters and stories on the floor as a kid.
I think the little drawings and pictures bring it to life in its own way. I feel that the longer production time is fine to bring the world of qud to life in your own unique art style.
U should try book of travels
Great video! Live & drink krugg
Excellent new series! I do appreciate your going out there without any wiki information. I'd say 3 weeks per episode would be a max; 2 weeks would be ideal! As far as I'm concerned, I'm in for the narration, not necessarily for the animation.
I thought you were dead meat when the salthopper showed up, but you survived! Then I thought for sure the equimax would kill you, and you survived! Good stuff. I think these episodes are well worth waiting for!
Heh, the flowery language is pretty silly. If my interpretation is correct, the chest description boils down to "could be writing, could just be scratches" and the vine wafer is pretty much saying "plant from a dry area that gathers water from the air over a long period of time"
I love the art and the series
i personally dont mind the longer wait bc the animations and extra art are all Very charming
wished they'd update the mod to dfv50
Incredible visual, sound effects, and writing
great stuff
17:24 this sequence reminds me of walking into Funky Kong’s gun shop for the first time in DK 64
I’m really glad that Krugg didnt understand these descriptions because neither did I and I was sure it’s my poor english
With the bouncing back and forth between a long running Dwarf Fortress series and what I assume will be many short CoQ series (it's very easy to die) I feel we are entering into a fantastic new era of Krugg! I love both of these series!
Your art is so cool! This is really high quality content.
I LOVE the new art style for this series! It fits very well for the game.
I'm gonna watch your video no matter how much time you put into it. Awesome stuff buddy
Loving this series
Heh, watching this now when DungeonMeshi is big hit, one of the Monster Hunters looks similar to Senshi. It's the eyes
Please more Caves of Qud.. with your animations and narration, this game truly shines :D
Look at that horse That horse is amazing...
Wow, that was some super smooth animation, Kruggsmash!! I was feeling impatient about an update... but that was quality work and all worth it. I think that if you're having fun animating, you should keep doing it, at least until it starts to feel burn-out territory. Maybe oscillating between a few eps with slower turn-over and polished anim when you hit a juicy or funny bit of story, and quicker turn-around when you have some neat but not polish-worthy narrative events? I like your clever use of time skips in game (here and in Dwarf Fortress!)
"Horse! Help me fight this warlord!" "No sir, i dont like it"
Also I would love a show (maybe if we ever get a Qud show, though that's wistful thinking) in your art style, as it's so cool
It has so much personality
One of the reasons people might tell you to go certain places is to get the main story started! No spoilers, If you want to start the story, you need to explore the swamp for a town and talk to the people in it. The main story is really cool but it's fair to explore as much as you want before it!
11:22 the full probability array of language: They could be speaking with notches indicating a full language Or it's absence: Or they so dumb they speak in simple notches and don't understand complex language I think it helps if take the descriptions seriously! It's very easy to dismiss something because the language seems flowery but what I find interesting is how much that langue reveals beyond just the item. Think about what it let's the descriptions do, like the vine waffer. As someone else explained, it's a fruit that swells with moisture. How boring would it be if that's what we read in game! The flowerly parts of the langue emphasize just how valuable something like that is to the people here, and it's place in the world. It's dense because it does that in just a few sentences, but it's so evocative and descritive that it's worth it! Don't be afraid to make up your own interpretation, trust your gut.
i think the chest description means that everything could be in it, or nothing
Damn, yt is making me loose your vids even tho i have show all notifications active
3:28 I like the contrast of Pop the hero and couple seconds later Pop the cleaner xD
You are an extraordinary youtuber. Most of your videos are really casual and cosy in some sense, which is great in on itself, but episodes like this one are just masterpieces. You are a marvellous storyteller, keep up the good work.
For the algorithm you'll just want to release a 10 minute video each week. Same content. Split into weekly episode.
Nah any algorithm talk is nonsense imo closest thing we have is the google search leak but that's not youtube and it seems to me any speculation on how to game the algorithm is just speculation.
CoQ suits your style of video so much. The writing is some of the most unique and evocative I've ever seen in a game. Really takes this world and its characters to a whole other level.
i love all of aecius' facial expressions. hes got a lot of personality!
Aaahahahahha, I full-belly chuckled when you shot the kudzu, saying "Die, idiot" - omg hilarious. You sure showed that plant who's boss!
Its worth the wait!!!!!!! REALLY!!!
Amazing!! The additional effort really showed through, and I love the slow pace and attention to detail. I smiled so much my face hurt!
This is fantastic
Heh, the fight with the equimax was hilarious. Some generally helpful tips: * There's a setting in the prompts section of the game settings that makes it so the game always shows a list of things when you try to pick something up, even if there's only one thing. Helps reduce the number of dead snapjaws you accidentally pick up while shaking for pocket change. * If you press backspace by default it will give a list of points of interest that youve discovered on the current screen. You can select one to pathfind to it automatically. This includes village merchants and questgivers, which will be helpful for picking up the main quest hooks in your starting village. * Remember your consumables! Grenades, tonic injectors, witchwood bark, whatever. Better to use a healing tonic then die with it in your inventory. The ones you spawned with should be identified already, other artifacts you can identify by examining them.
What a great series, good work, Kruggsmash!
CZcams RECOMMEND ME THESE VIDEOS FFS. How many Kruggsmash videos do I gotta like for youtube to get the idea smh.
The animations are wonderful and hilarious but it has also been hard to wait this long. So I'm torn. I think a good sweet spot is maybe one or two animated images per video.
Ever excited for him to one day reach Golgotha.
Take your time, your art and storytelling are a cut above c: Love your work and really try to not miss an ounce of your amazing work!
