    This episode has really inspired me to pay a little more attention to my dwarves' rooms and personal preferences. There are often too many names and bodies to keep track of in a bustling fort, but taking the time to tailor a room to a specific dwarf every now and then seems like a great way to get to know them and remember who's who.

    • @Latronibus
      @Latronibus Před rokem +20

      Also gives a nice incentive to make slightly bigger rooms, which is a more interesting challenge...the standard bed-cabinet-chest already fills three spaces and although it's fine, it looks weird to fill the last one of a 2x2.

    All these little "pointless" things you do like special underwater tombs is why you're so fantastic. What makes these dwarves feel so real and alive is when you do that. It's not part of the game, it's something you chose to do, and that's what makes me feel like these dwarves really do have a unique culture and view on things. I love how you do that, how you give so much life to every world you make.

    I love the cavern wars.
    I had a fortress where there were dozens of trogladytes a year, and a seemingly endless horde of these little lizard guys. I had a huge, open cavern, and had gone down to farm. Had to seal in the farms, and have constant patrols around the exit into the cavern, with an airlock where guards were constantly stationed.
    It was constant bloodshed. Eventually, i didnt even train troops. I sent noobies on patrol, and my elites got the joy of extra off months and guarding the airlock.
    Some of the original ones had killed hundreds of enemies by the time i left the fort behind.

    I imagined the entire base fortress level of Scorchfountain with the crazy maga forge and expanse layout seemed like a big project. It was so pretty and designed with the intent of honoring the dead but also respecting that they would rise again.

    The Roc-Pelican interpretation is really awesome... Love the image of it diving down on longships! Just terrific!
    And yeah, the custom bedrooms are superb... and a very good explanation to the limited amount that you can progress in an episode: Setting up custom images for each figurine/statue, matching furniture to fit each occupants preferences... That takes a while, but its attention to detail that I truly love. Thanks for taking the time to walk through all of them with us in this episode! This series is glorious and if it stretches out a bit longer, all the better!

    the roc is absolutely perfect i cant get over it. like its kind of one of those designs that feels intentionally goofy, sort of a monster hunter type thing, but the reveal that no, it's not just a big pelican, it's a pelican in the evolutionary niche of a WHALE but still somehow capable of flight like... compresses the goofiness into an alien beauty and menace. it also makes it all click and somehow feel sensible, like yeah if any environments going to support a bird the size of a skyscraper its going to be the sea and that bird is going to look REALLY silly until it gets territorial. idk it just sort of got me!

    I find that children are often available for the furniture placement jobs and afterwards they spend some time playing make-believe wherever they hauled the furniture.

    This fort is really looking like it'll be special. All of the attention to detail is delightful. I don't mind waiting the extra week one bit.

    The bridge is looking absolutely gorgeous. I think your asymmetrical bases are really cool also. Scorchfountain was a beautiful build. I think everything you build looks amazing, but yea the bridge is stunning. I love the dwarves living on it and seeing all the hustle and bustle going across. The underwater tombs was a great idea as well

    I just want to point out that the "good luck kobold" came from nowhere other than Krugg's creativity here, and has lent just such a wonderful little flavor twist to everything else that's going on.
    All the dwarves are great, until they go crazy. Keep perfecting that amazing bridge you bastards.

    Whatever you're doing Krug, keep it up. This is probably my favorite fort you've done. It's very grand, and I like that it's basically a sequel to your last one. May you receive all of the kolbolds luck
