You use the multiverse and have the X-Men be from another world where the Holocaust happened in more recent time to current MCU. When the timelines align or the worlds become 1, you can have Magneto becoming angry when he finds out that no matter what or where, humans will still hate other people and now mutants. It would add even more layers to his character, or more conviction to his beliefs. They are already doing something similar to the Fantastic 4, SO it is duable for the X-Men too

WTF is Shannon talkin about with Wesley & Blade?! HOW DID HE PEAK WHEN HE BASICALLY STARTED HE MCU? It’s a well known fact blade 2 & 3 was sabotaged by the studio trying to pigeon white leads in the franchise. He went downhill because he got whiteballed, sued and went to jail. I would love to see Keke as Rogue. Rogue (and Gambit) were my favorite characters from X-Men '92 growing up. I remember when Keke dropped her cosplay photos and I was like, "Oh, yes! Playing the game: Keke would make a much better rogue than storm, i want to feel like I'd shit my pants when storm walks in the room I would grab a beer with keke in a heartbeat lol. Also I too caught up with baby reindeer over the weekend and i'd like to stress that whilst this is a buzzy show I must implore you that it's a heavier watch than you've been led to expect. Effective, but heavy.

I paused this and watched the Jim Henson trailer. I am a blubbering mess. I'm 47 and the Muppets were one of those wonderful things when I was very young. It's gonna be a beautiful and tearful watch.

You go 40 to 50's for Charles and Erik. Both Mckellen and Stewart were late 50's/early 60's in the 1st X men, whilst Mcavoy and Fassbender were in their 30's.

The reason why no one complained about the homework is because the movies were strongly interconnected, and that made them good, being held to a standard of internal logic forced better stories. Moving away from the interconnectedness in an effort to head off, dead-inside babies whining about homework, is what hurt the movies. Had they been stricter and kept the interconectedness the main focus we'd be looking at a much more accepted and loved MCU. For example, Taika for Fhor, made it so Eternity was locked behind, SOLELY the Bifrost. DUMB AND LAZY AND BAD. First off, why would Odin go on a realm spanning conquest losing so many Asgardians looking for the infinity stones, when he could have much more easily gone to Eternity and wished for all the Realms, and even beyond fall under his rule. It would have been less deaths than his original war. So then looking at the interconnectedness, you go, oh well we can't have Eternity locked behind just one Pantheon's magic, we need it say behind also something of the Greek pantheon, Maybe the Egyptian Pantheon, and throw in some extra terrestrial gods, that gives another layer to Gorr's god butchering, he needs certain things to get to Eternity. Then you go oh Egyptian gods, dont we have some Egyptian God super hero knocking around *checks notes* Ah yes, Moon Knight, so you get connection to that. Which had plot holes itself, like how did Ammit, a lesser god, defeat the Ennead the group of Egypt's main most powerful Deities, especially after how many thousands of years of imprisonment, she doesn't Gorr does, but Ammit/Harrow take credit, we see the reveal in Fhor, and Moon Knight comes back, so now we start to see a minor thread form. Those are just minor things, there is so much more that could be done, and its all been left to shit because Marvel is afraid of idiots whining about homework. A story having a lot of chapters isnt homework, its just a long story. The homework fear is hurting so much, The Marvels, another victim. Do you know why The Marvels, aka Captain Marvel 2 sucked so bad. Cause its was Captain Marvel 3, they skipped a whole fucking movie and gave it to us as chopped up verbal backstory, because babies cant be bothered to be told a whole story. Stop pushing the Homework narrative. its killing our movies. You love every god damn piece of comic media that comes out until it comes out, and then if its bad you dont have to keep loving it. But the more pressure we put on Marvel, letting them know we are very observant of the proper internal logic, the more they will be forced to actual think about the structure of their plots and deliver far better stories. Edit: The easiest way to do the Magneto Holocaust backstory is easy peasy, especially if they do the movie before secret wars. You just put the Xmen in a universe where their timeline is in the 90s or 80s or whatever, and then when the multiverse collapses, you can bring over a younger Magneto, complete with proper backstory, and then you can move forward in actual present day and have the timeline issues explained

Like Shannon, I had heard the buzz around baby reindeer and was gonna get to it when I got to it. BUT then I saw it as a topic in the video and I know you all have truly fantastic taste so I figured I’d watch an episode or 2. I was up til 4 am binging this shit because of y’all 😂😅. Traumatic, compelling, unsettling, frustrating. Made me feel so many emotions but so incredibly well done. Incredibly vulnerable too. Didn’t realize the actor playing Donny Dunn was actually Richard Gadd so he was re-living his own story through this heightened dramedy vehicle. Incredibly well acted. Idk I have so many thoughts but they’re all incoherent and jumbled. It was just much to process and take in. But it’s gonna sit with me for a minute

If Marvel doesn’t play their cards right, my worry is that James Gunn will scoop up Beau DeMayo and Marvel will lose another great creator to DC.

I have a soft spot for starting with the classic/original line ups but I'd much prefer, and highly recommend honoring the OG five as originals who were captured and then get rescued, instead of focusing the first movie on them. This way we can end with all the players in place after spending simply one film seeing Storm leading, [new] Wolvie slicing and dicing, with even Sunfire blazing and Thunderbird bashing heads for the first time (and yes, I'd include Nightcrawler, Banshee and Colossus, but this would not be their first times shown like the latter two, and I'd even go as far as transplanting Deadpool's version of Colossus if his upcoming movie doesn't deposit him into the MCU - if it kills him off, brand new one then or later.) The hope would be to launch that into a number of sub-teams with their own movie franchise in 3 corners of the MCU: 1. Storm leading X-Men (Red or Blue) theatrically (keeping Iceman and Prof. X) 2. Wolverine leading X-Force in a more mature corner of the MCU (linking him up with Deadpool and bringing along Beast, Archangel) 3. Leaving Scott and Jean to head X-Men Gold, but as a live action Disney+ series cut off from the goings-on of the theatrical side (using either Shi'Ar space or a dimensional rift for the separation of their adventures) with a plan to reunite them on the big screen eventually. If we do want to keep Magneto's holocaust origins in play we have a number of options to keep his age low: A. He can be an implant from another universe B. He can be an unbroken captive of Weapon X left in Winter Soldier-like stasis while the likes of Wolverine, Sabertooth, etc. got let out to play over the decades C. He could be preserved in amber of Krakoa or in stasis by the aforementioned Shi'Ar, reanimated in modern day.

I feel like a big component in how DP&W will do is competition. At a glance, the only thing I see coming in the few weeks after it that seems like it's aimed for a similar audience is maybe Borderlands. I'm not terribly familiar, but I'm guessing that's for a similar demo. Otherwise, not much, so as long as the movie isn't terrible people might be inclined to keep seeing it.
