Fallout episode 1 was awesome. With this, and The Last of Us, I NEVER thought I’d live to see such faithful recreations of video game properties on television.

Heyyyyy!! An early Geek Buddies!! That first ep of fallout was pretty sweet! I enjoyed it alot. Especially with it coming from a video game. But that Xmen Episode!! Woooo had a brotha in tears!!

In Fallout when the husband cleaned off with the curtain was a tip off something ain't right
If they are to do a Hereos reboot, they need to do three things. 1 make sure you have the same writing cast through the whole thing, and an avoid a strike. film in the UK. 2. Don’t use any legacy people , a fresh cast is needed. Plus it has been 20 years almost since the launch of the original. That puts most of the cast near 50s. 3. Make the show more adult, and put it on a streaming service. With shows like The Boys and Gen V, Heroes need to compete or it will get lost.
I keep forgetting Fallout droped. I hope we get a season review when the 3 of you are finished.

I don’t think people even realize how much deep, deep lore there is within the Blair Witch “universe.” There are novels and comic books and video games and fake dossiers.
I wish they’d pull from that stuff instead of “reimagining” it.
It occurred to me after seeing the Joker 2 teaser WB may be in for a nice surprise. I keep seeing reactions pop up from females who do not normally do that as content. The whole Gaga fanbase may be coming to put money down for this!

Oh Gaga's fanbase is going to go in droves to see this. She has a HUGE LGBTQ+ fanbase that gets added to this mix, and yes women, and we might see a more even split in the audience this time.
Speaking as a Gaga fan, before the trailer I had my reservations about the complete tonal shift and my ceiling for the film was about $700-750M. After the trailer and seeing all the hype and buzz, I can confidently say this has a shot at a billion dollars again and may even outgross the original. This is going to be a massive 4-quad blockbuster. Just yesterday we got the news that the trailer launch surpassed Barbie in social media engagement. That's crazy! Joker 2 is coming to smash.

Thumbs up for Fallout so far. Seems like it can happily co-exist with the games rather than doing some half-arsed adaptation. Having read the Dark Matter book, I thought the trailer for that was WAY too spoilerific.
RDJ is great and I love what he's done, but I am perfectly ok with letting Tony Stark lie. It's always possible that they can pull it off, but I feel like Stark's end was awesome and I feel like we need to learn to let go and be ok with something coming to an end and what an end it was.
I get that there are always business and career interests entangled with everything and I know Disney is trying to course correct, but I think you run the risk of tainting Tony's arc and, like Shannon mentioned, how do you bring him back?
It was great for the Maguire and Garfield Spider-men b/c it felt like those guys weren't given the send off they were deserving but how many people would say the same of Tony Stark?
It's not a reason not to reach for the brass rings, but I just don't think it's a good idea and, again, it's ok for things to come to a close.

To me bringing Stark back would also ruin Endgame, just totally shit all over that movie. You're are so correct in saying that us fans need to learn to let go.

Fallout episode one reminded me of Snyder’s Army of the Dead - not the story obviously but visually and style wise; especially the slow-mos 😊 and yet nobody complained about it 😉😉
Thing is the new characters so far havent been as successful so using stark in someway to get those new characters seen in a new way and liked by the audience. Use him as a bridge
Fallout is doing it the right way. Each game I've played in the series, Fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout 4, all take place at roughly the same time but in Washington DC, Las Vegas, and Boston respectively. Trying to bring a game to the screen would have failed, but just picking another city and keeping the lore of like the factions or the monsters and the in game products means there's nothing to compare except vibes and it's nailing all of that.
Definitely agree it's a weird choice to have done a binge drop instead of weekly, but even so, I'm looking forward to finishing it.
My only issue was I question the viability of the location of the vault. It seems like due to something barely 50ft away there might have been stability problems, but I'm not a vault structural engineer so what do I know
I'm the Bizarro version of John on Joker, because I didn't care for the first one (beyond the score and production design), but I love Gaga and musicals so those announcements ALMOST enticed me enough to want to give this one a try. But if it's still Phoenix and Phillips's world and style from the first one, then I'll happily take John's advice to "fuck off" and just wait for the only Harley and Joker I give a damn about right now, Kaley Cuoco and Alan Tudyk. 😎😁
As for Heroes, the show was at its best when Bryan Fuller and/or Michael Green were on staff, so I think their inclusion would be the only thing that could get me excited. And I rather enjoyed the Blair Witch reboot after loving the original and despising Book of Shadows, so I'd be down for a return to Burkittsville!
New Superman logo looks dope! Reminds me of the My Adventures With Superman look which is some of the best Superman storytelling ever, so I dig it!
32:32 John is 100% right here btw, one of the most graphic rape scenes I've ever seen in a movie, let it be known that The Nightingale is fantastic but be warned it is also very effective at being a revenge movie.
Fallout is pretty good, I don't think it is perfect but it gets more right than it gets wrong, it isn't really quite in the last of us league as it is essentially making it up using the game's iconography versus adapting a particular narrative. Just a tier below TLOU and Arcane, feels more like twisted metal but with a bigger budget and scope (and I mean that positively, and worth noting I've only seen 4 episodes so maybe with a holistic complete view I will feel differently next week).
Cinemacon seems like it was pretty good for what it was, a year where there isn't as much coming out and that had a 6 month roadblock due to the studios being wankers. I was looking to see if hayden christensen showed up at the paramount panel per those rumours but I was most disappointed to not see another dungeons & dragons announced as it is criminal that movie did not do better (but it's a business I understand). Hope people enjoyed their time there (and I suspect sneider will be back to complain on the hot mic soon ha). Joker trailer didn't do a whole lot of me but joker the character doesn't interest me like it does others (most overrated comic character imo) glad people are digging it though.
EDIT: This dark matter project sounds really cool, might have to source out that book.

Not a fan of the superman S it looks more like a line then an S, the colours are good though.
That’s because it’s not an S, it’s the coat of arms for the House of El.
I bet that's the point. An alien symbol that maybe he makes into an "S" to double as Superman by the end of the movie
It's an immediate no on that Superman logo for me. It doesn't look like an "S" at all to me. It barely looks like it make a swirl. Yep, it's a no for me.
Fyi, it's never meant to be an "S" - it's meant to resemble a river as a symbol of hope and a coat of arms for the house of El. It's a long standing misconception that it stands for "superman". Perhaps the new design aims to address that.
Robert Downey Jr was nominated 3 times. Not 2 for an Oscar. You missed tropic thunder in your list.
