Everyone talks about 3 characters, but what about Lucy's brother?, his sub storyline is getting really interesting, I've always got surprised in the games on how messed up is vault tec .
all the vault dweller stuff was super interesting. i always thought the vault dwellers would be like little cults and weirdos so I'm glad they're diving into how they live
He was great loved the vault dwellers side stories
He kinda gets put on ice for man who knows how long for he honestly might as well be close to dead
Norm is a badass 😎
What about Dogmeat!!!!!!!!!? She has been a loyal companion to Lucy, Max, and Cooper.
They got the bloody mess perk at level 1!
Also someone installed some lewd mods.
You always do, WTF?
Who else thinks the chicken lover gave Thaddeus FEV? Johnny Pemberton as a super mutant would be hilarious
I agree that's not how being a ghoul works, how ever it could be a form of FEV.
@@exodore2000 son of Zorn about to be ripped
FEV makes more sense!
I was like does ghoulification take hold that quickly?
I had the same thought. FEV makes sense.
Just finished episode 8. I need more. It’s so good.
Show was fantastic I feel the same way.
The combining of Vaults actually makes sense from an in universe standpoint. I could easily see a scenario where they were testing impact of one vault being healthy/successful/growing and its “sister vault” struggling to even survive.
It's very smart or we'd end up with Gary vaults
It's technically been done before I believe.
That sounds just diabolical enough for Vault-Tec to consider it
@@zdub93 Yeah, I'm surprised it wasn't about incest or something like that. Vault seems very tame for a non control Vault.
So the show has "wild wasteland" enabled ? 😂😊
I think they nailed the tone. Life or death, high drama mixed with seasonings of camp and dark comedy.
Good example of good Female MC
Yes despite the very Bethesda motivation of leaving the vault she's awesome all three of them are great.
Story wise ok
and writing terrible
But at least the MC is good at her role
@@monkofdarktimesafter trying a 2nd time to get through Halo on Paramount & trying to inexplicably understand how Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League even was allowed to get to the point it did, this is Emmy award winning writing.
Love the water chip reference that they threw in
@@Legacyartist Fun fact they actually wanted to remake the Fallout 3 story but instead of ur dad calling evil for bad karma u call ur dad evil for his bad karma.
Also fallout 3 I think is the first Bethesda fallout game.
need season 2 ASAP
I love how you referred to video games as an art, I used to debate my 10th grade English teacher about this. I tried telling her final fantasy 9 had more text than any book she had us read, but she was old...
So text makes art so every CZcams comment is hard. Is that what you're trying to tell me? I get the argument you're going for but it's a bad one. You should be going in a different direction.
The amount of letters doesn't make a book better y'know
But the reason why games actually are the art
Is that them combine tons of artistic ways to express some feelings and emotions and gives us an option to interact with the game
Some games are wonderfully cinematic, some have good written plots, others have interesting gameplay. And all of it being created by hundreds of musicians, coders, writers, artists etc.
@@Bad3.Personal well said
Well excessive quantity wouldn't have convinced her, but older folks definitely don't imagine video games are anything more than pong or candy crush.
@@spectralmuffin6487no, that’s in no way what anyone was trying to say

Why? The game is boring enough that hardly anyone finished it, part 2 anyway.

It's best video game adaptation by a country mile
anyone would agree, in a New York minute.
I like what they did with the 3 characters. I've only seen episodes 1, but the mains feel a bit like they're styled after the main characters from FO3, FO:NV, & FO4. The Ghoul is a wastelander with a cowboy theme, Lucy is a Vault Dweller seeking her missing dad, & Maximus has military experience & a quest for revenge. Ill have to see were it goes, but it feels like a familiar vibe with a fresh story which is exactly what i was hoping for.
The Brother is also a Main. at first I wasn't feeling him But at the end I was Big time Into it, shame the ending.....
kinda puts a halt to that..
Seen it, loved it. Nostalgia through the roof.
I absolutely love how they represent Vault Tech and their ideals for the future. I definitely want more Enclave in the future
Yes if you get people that actually care about the game then video adaptations game can be good
Bethesda doesn't even care for it. They treat it as a cash grab. They love money.
Only if they read the lore and explained it good. But since passing stories and recording history can be hard without proper long-distance across the country of the entirety of remnants of the USA.
I think adaptations where you can expand on the lore with original stories works better than telling 1:1 stories off of games.
I haven't watched it yet but the only thing I have heard that I dislike is Shady Sands being nuked. I guess we'll have to wait and see what state the NCR is in
Thought it was going to be terrible but it was actually really well done, Im guessing having Todd as the Exec Producer really helped.
I really enjoyed the first episode. Did wonder how people completely new to Fallout see it, but I guess it's okay even if you don't know every little game reference.
Right I've been so excited to see it I'm hoping the non gamers in my life enjoy it just as much. They don't give much background on the groups but I think the writing, actors and comedy will help people not care so much. Also we can be there for them to answer questions. Yay they might actually care when hearing about fallout lol
Had a watch party those of us who played the games those who didn't where scratching there heads. My sister groaned at the wedding after party she was screaming there stealing from game of thrones this is just the red wedding. In my very small group to pull from non fans were indifferent.
TLOU and fallout video game adaptations are great but it’s a shame halo didn’t get the love it deserved
I watched 6 episodes last night. I was a little shocked Amazon didn't crash.
I though the BoS section was great. It really provided context and meat to the faction lore.
But they cut the elders, kept the Prydwen, forgot the ranks (now EVERYONE is a knight and no Guardians or Paladins in sight) and even got the colour system wrong. What happened to elder blues? Or the separation between orders. Even the whole breeding between themselves thing changed to no one allowed to procreate.
@@tanepukenga1421 Remember, we only saw one training ground, and it looks like that was a scribe, not an elder. My guess is they were a simple training outpost, since even power armour was a novelty to them that they didn't see often. I wonder whether, going forward, we'll see their actual operating HQ, if it's not on the new airship.
@@Sir_Jimmothy He calls himself an elder multiple times, especially in the last episode. The chain thing is also a west coast thing they abandoned after going to DC, which Maxson didn't take up. The interesting thing is the HQ is usually wherever the Prydwyn is. In FO4 they state they used ALL their resources in DC to make it and move everyone out there. This is only 9 years after that. And they had power armour stations IN the Prydwyn, which is another plot hole since like you mentioned, they were a novelty to the recruits. They also couldn't have upped their numbers outside found recruits since they've now made sex forbidden in the brotherhood. Which is something Maxson didn't want, wastelanders as recruits. That was part of the reason he took over from Lyons, their disagreement on going back to the old ways. These are just some reasons why I say it's a bit janky. It blows past inconvenient lore for ease and plot purposes.
Yeah it was cool, I must not be edgy enough to nitpick and hop on the hate bandwagon. I love all the Fallout games and I love this show. Must be a reason it’s getting so many good reviews
@@zaab-yaoh9302 yeah, lots of ACKSHUALLY in the responses.
I hope in season 2 they use the "mysterious stranger" perk in some way. One of the strangest weapons in the games is home pulling up with a 45. Magnum to kill a target with his own theme music never to be seen again.
Glad I am not the only one. I was hoping we would see him pop up this season.
It retconned and rewrote major lore for the NCR and NV.

Maybe video game adaptations are the next big boom in movies & tv.
Maybe... if they were to stay accurate to the game.
But Hollywood just can't resist screwing up a successful working formula.
@@MartyndeAs a Halo fan…I know what you mean

I still have a lot of questions about discrepancies, but i enjoyed the show very much.
Anxious to see the brother's storyline and what could happen in NV.

Fallout London will probably be delayed because of the next gen update like 2 days before it.

Tbf, I saw the title of this vid and immediately thought “TLOU did that already”…
@@Ska83gbrThis show did it even better
For real like this show blew TLOU out of the water dont even try to compare
@@ethangilbert4896Kudos to Jonathan Nolan, but TLOU is absolutely different class.
Fallout actually had to create a different lorewise story compared to the rehashed story of the last of us. They could have used the storyline of Fallout 1,2 and New Vegas which has a storyline on par with the last of us but they choose to do it different@@Ska83gbr
The bomb at the door was just a way to keep them from following the raiders.
WhatCulture are upset they cant wreck Bethesda and Xbox this week😂
I cant get over how much of an outstanding job they have done with this. Its reward worthy.
This was always the case. People who said otherwise are the same folks who said Super Hero films can't be done right in the early 2000's. Or that you can't make a serious comic based movie prior to Sin City or Nolan's batman. All it takes is one person to actually be allowed to do their job without executives forcing you to make it a PG watered down nothingfest.
The Last of Us, Castlevania, Arcane proved it already. Fallout is just another.
The showrunner & streaming service is a BIG reason why the shows either work or don’t. See: Halo.
So far ir seems pretty promising! The only thing I worry is that I hope they don't take the whole BoS hyper militaristic "Macho" thing too far because honestly this faction while of course really militaristic in it's core, it is mostly about how they have this cult like extremism about the idea of controlling technology lest it "destroys" civilization again, which I believe it gives a bit more nuance to the faction, rather than just reducing it to military group = a**hole factory.
Keep watching. Stop worrying.
@@albundy7459 I mean yeah I will. From episode one I can tell the show is in good hands! It's just that I hope they don't oversimplify factions, but sure I'll just keep watching it to know the answer.
@@kevinmonge7046 your worries will be squashed by the end.
Just saying Lucy could have reached to her left and grabbed one on the 5-7 knives that were in reach instead of the pitcher
That happens SO often in that series. So many times the characters were plain stupid, none of them should have survived 3 days in the wasteland. Coop deciding to go on a drug binge in the organ harvesting thing? Stims not healing or repairing damage properly? Lucy not running when she's given a hundred chances? Ghouls healing all their damage, just cause?
You do know she was using her left hand to stop the knife right?
Also I don’t think people act very rational when they’re getting stabbed.
@@tanepukenga1421 Insufferable take, just go watch something you like and quit throwing a hissy fit.
When you’re stabbed and getting choked to death you kind of reach for anything your free hand can get.
Although, poor job of making sure the raider was dead.
I was having trouble accepting the reality she used stimpak. I was laughing so hard, It's like I was transported to the game.
i was in the zone till 5am watching that shit it’s so damn good
Just finished episode 1. Was never the biggest fallout fan only because I didn’t have the time to invest in how I would enjoy playing but really like the show so far! Pretty confident I’ll finish it by this weekend
The Last of Us proved this point last year, we're finally getting the level of care and attention to some of these adaptations that they deserve.
I'm looking forward to watching this tomorrow. I'm so glad they seem to have put the extra effort in, and it still appeals to those not 100% familiar with the games
We saw ncr already, Next ceasar's legion.
Agreed
they dont have the balls to make an accurate caesars legion
Was it explained how Moldaver was still alive after 200 plus years?
She’s aged like 20 years..was she somehow cryoed as well??
My only real gripe with the series was that gunfight in the hallway in episode 8, the T-60 armour has a flashlight right on the friggin helmet. I still love the show but that flashlight scene just total broke the immersion for me, I use that flashlight all the time in game. Oh and the other scene that broke my immersion was when Maximus yelled Victoriam instead of Ad Victoriam, you would think a member of the BoS would remember their own motto.
Loll I thought the same. I was like bro there a light on your helmet
Watched the first 3 episodes last night and yes, it’s awesome
This gives me hope that an animated anthology series of The Elder Scrolls is possible in the right hands.
So this must be the new wave. Comic book movies and shows had their turn now it's the video games, except halo.
Still waiting for a Red Dead Redemption western story! 🐎
What I want after this Fallout adaptation is an XCOM adaptation. Or X-Com.
Tell a story from the view point of a Squad. With all of the fast field promotion, debilitating combat injuries, the members that kept rotating due to high mortality, the terror, the PTSD, add those with post-humanism through cybernetics, forced mutation and psionics. Also the inter-governmental politicking, sabotage, and conspiracies to keep such program running.
It can run for many seasons as a series that may come as a cross between X-Files and 2004 Battlestar Galactica.
Let see Sonic had 2 movies with 3rd coming, Mario had a movie and 2nd coming, League of Legend had a Series, Last of Us had a series, Detective Pikachu had a Movie. They all share one thing. That being that they prove Video Game Adaptions can be GREAT. Fallout wasn't the first one to do it.
don't think anyone claimed that
Sonic movies sucked. Let's be real.
Those were 4 movies (with 2 to come), an animated series, and one live action series.
For the first 5 you’re compacting apples and pears to oranges as making a movie is very different than a series, as is an animated series vs live action.
And as the other person said, no one is saying this is the first. It’s just an example it can work.
@@shawngaetz8161 It didn't suck. You juat don't realize how good it was. There weren't be a 3rd movie coming. If it did flop
@@BlueGriffin20 I get that, but still. Fallout is only one of the things that show Video Game Adaptions work. And shouldn't matter difference between what I stated. All still share a example of how Video Game Adaption working

@@user-yd2uv3xi2g you could say anything is culty behavior.. and it could "kinda" be right
I think that most games adapted to cinematic level should be a tv series most ant work as a movie as for bio shock a tv series that transition before the fall would be cool
Like I said with The Last of Us, Fallout literally should be on of the easiest video games to adapt. All video games based on a fictional earth should when you don’t have to create 100 fantastical creatures and can really put time and effort into to costumes, set design, etc. Now if monsters look crazy good, ima lose it
I saw the whole season. I wish we had longer seasons
It wasnt a plot hole with the bomb. Moldaver said they try to be better and less violent. They did ehat they had to do and they just wanted to seal the eay behind them. She even told them to run. I think it was mainly a test to try to show Lucy who her dad was.
Prime Season 2 please!!!
In episode 5 i think theres a phone number to call for vault tec i highly recommend calling it 😂
I'm excited they got another fantastic actor to be the father your looking for in the wasteland. The sets are stunning. I fell in love with fallout playing 3 for the first game I got on ps3. That first opening of the vault door and seeing the waste was so memorable. The series looks like it's going to do its best to keep that original fallout feel. I was hesitant but I think it's gonna be good.
i can overlook some of the inaccuracies like the ghouls needing meds to keep from going feral or the brotherhood acting more religious than military......but the shady sands nuking timing really fucked with the continuity
Yeah the timeline is very screwy there but hey what's new lmao, it's not like fallouts timeline has historically been consistent or logical. I think having the NCR be nuked during New Vegas is a stupid choice though, it would have made more sense to say they got nuked afterwards
Meh retconns happen. Sometimes they're needed
Agreed on Ghouls and BOS. Just a FO4 player so not familiar with NCR lore but for me it seemed fine, of course that's from my pov of ignorance pertaining to its history

The NCR rules over Southern California after annexing cities peacefully and makes a successful push into the Northern region via the control of the gold trade. 700,000 strong with the capital having 3,000 in just the central part of Shady Sands. So after 2241 there maybe a million people living in the NCR. (Most populous state).

As I first heard of the series in making, I had really low expectations.
The makers of this series proved me wrong. Its really good. They almost nailed the athmosphere and the humor of the games.
What I miss a bit is, that the games are much more cynical. I hope they will correct this in the next season.
I think this was to lay a foundation and to not scare people by beeing too cynical ;)
Now we need an Elder Scrolls TV series....
I really liked the show, they nailed the fallout vibes, also, all the story lines and sub plots converge wih the main story in a great way
Only problem is Maximus. Awful character and should be the main villain.
I think as far as Re is concerned RE 5 for like a 7 part series is the best bet, it's short, to the point, and action packed, plus it won't piss off every fan out there also it would be very easy to replicate.not to mention it would be the easiest RE title to replicate for the cheapest plus it would could be replicated in in for the cheapest and the most time consuming amount of time for the cheapest. Also unless the royal mess it no one would be angry about it and it's literally impossible to mess it up, unless they cheap out on literally everything. Which seems impossible since blank fire weaponry is dirt cheap and all they need is makeup among one or two special effects for one or two episodes a season since most everything can be done practically and for very cheap. Except for boss fights and special enemies, even if they did it one to one I'd be ecstatic unless they cast everyone as someone who would only draw attention instead of match the character just like they did for everyone else in the original. Except for Markus, barry and bag head, correct me i wrong, also if they change the story like they did for every other story they made except the anime before. Also a true at story Hunk tale would be insane not to mention a RE raccoon city and an RE 3 true to the videos game would be incredible.
I’m about to watch this video, please don’t spoil anything, I’m saving it to binge tomorrow on my birthday 😬

Yeah the thing with adapting a video game story franchise for ANY medium is if it pleases the fans it will be successful because u have that base fanbase that will watch the show and could expand because people who arent familiar with the games may watch it because the fans are saying its good. But if u piss the fans off then it wont succeed because the fans of the franchise will say its not good and people who are on the fence and arent fans of the franchise arent going to watch because the people its made for are saying its not good.

@@zakbrown9256 that’s what I’m thinking too but there seems to be some fear among some of the message boards and streamers that have shared their thoughts.
