The OG Jubilee *Allyson Court* in da house!!!! as "Glitch Jubilee."
Jubilee mentioned Genosha in part one when they visited the memory, then Forge designed the inhibitor collars that kept them imprisoned.
Damn…yall got it, the twin themes were great, the episode was fantastic also
It’s even in the names of the character
Jubilee
“-celebration
Storm- duh
Happy Birthday Shannon, keep rockin
This show is just firing on all cylinders! I look forward to it every Wednesday
Same I’m an animation person and an art student
@brandonheaton8592 the animation is quite unique. I know they said they're trying to replicate the style of the 90s, and I definitely see that, but there is an infusion of anime, I think. That said, It flows incredibly well
Great to hear original voice of Jubilee as the older Jubilee working with the new voice actor of Jubilee
Ep was great
The 80's X-men character Kitty Pride's birthday was always a running plotline her 14th was in a reprint of Giant Size Xmen #1. Every few years Kitty would have a birthday story issue. It was rare because comics characters don't age very often as time passes. The original series didn't have split episodes, if i remember correctly
Man I get to watch Shogun on Tuesdays and X-Men on Wednesdays. Such a good time
The reason why Dazzler was mentioned is because she used to work for Mojo. She appeared in the 90s series Mojo episode... Also in the Cold Comfort episode, the X-Men went up against Forge's X-Factor team. That's why he has that pic on the wall. Also a great callback to that episode.
The Scottish scientists maybe Moira who is also a pivotal character in the modern X-men comics story Powers of X & House of X
I can't believe how good this show is!! Even this episode. Probably not the greatest episode, but still so damn good that it doesn't matter. Shout out to Spiral...her sexy six armed ass!!❤😂😂
Forge really went full simp hahah
Going to buy a Motendo game system on Amazon 😆
Absolutely loving this show.
Also, do yourself a favor and google Gil Birmingham if you’re not familiar!!!! He and John are definitely related!!!! 😂
Decent episode. Morph had a funny moment
How’d the computer get in undetected lol
If I remember correctly, Moira Taggart, who was a former girlfriend of Professor X, is the Scottish scientist being discussed. She had a Mutant child in the original series.
I believe it was the mutant scientist that Mystique was pretending to be along with Apocalypse. Both were on Muir Island using Moira's lab facilities.
@cedricwilcox7583 Dr Adler I think?
For the algorithm. Nuff Sed 😊👍
I see all the love this episode is getting, so I guess I'll be in the minority, but I didn't enjoy this episode at all. The first half was maybe a 2/5 on a good day. I loved the Wolverine and Jubilee Crunch story where we get Abcissa (future Jubilee) in the comics, but this version was just not as interesting and like other episodes felt rushed. Cool story that could have been 3 episodes long, crunched ( no pun intended) into half of one episode. :( I also just don't care about the Sun Spot/Jubilee relationship either.
The second half of the episode was ok.. I love Storm and so that helped, BUT man "rushed" is an understatement. WTF.. Forge professing his love for Storm.. where the fck did that come from?? I mean they just met! Weird. The 2nd half was probably just as bad as the first, but because it was Storm and because it sort of pushes the main story forward a bit, I would say it was better so a generous 3/5.
So a total score of 2.5/5. Just a weak episode.
In a 24 episode season, a filler like this is fine and sometimes a breath of fresh air, but in a 10episode season, this was totally unnecessary. Thinking of that I'd knocked off another point maybe.
I know I know.. Not every episode will be a banger. Hopefully next week gets back on track.
My least favorite episode so far, but that's only because of the high bar of the first three because I still loved this episode! And I have to imagine people complaining about the pairing of these two stories were perhaps not paying close enough attention because they mirror each other so well: two mutants in a burgeoning romance abducted into a simulated reality by a parasitic entity, where one of them learns they have to let go of the comfort and familiarity of the past to embrace their power in an uncertain future, while the other is coping with their own shame and nearly killed. The tones are different, but it's the same story through two different lenses (one youthful, one mature).
Some points of clarification/correction: the Adversary wasn't created by Forge but is an ancient trickster god (depicted here as more of a totemic owl spirit than the comics' "evil Indian" look). The spirits Forge summoned in Vietnam weren't to the best of my memory tied to the Adversary, but I might be misremembering that. Also, the scientist in Scotland was a reference to the original series where the Genoshans mention getting their inhibitor collars courtesy of a Dr. Adler (who we meet in the same season on Muir Island, working to develop a cure for mutation...and I'll avoid mentioning more details to avoid potential spoilers if John does decide to revisit the original). Also, X-Factor does show up in one episode (with glimpses in a couple of others where Quicksilver and Forge feature more prominently), where we also get our only appearance of Iceman who has a nice bond with Jubilee as the former and current "kid" of the group. So maybe we'll get to see him again? Perhaps in his more current "out" incarnation to REALLY make the anti-wokesters cry in their cereal? 😂
