    What we needed was a post credits scene of Cap wandering the snowy wilderness, metal detector in hand, looking for his shield.

    A total aside, given that we've sorta had 24 years of Wolverine movies, I love how little he's been the focus of this series so far.

      While I wouldn't expect them to put the cat completely back into the bag after Wolverine became such a household movie character, I hope they take some notes from this about how we can focus on others and have him as icing.
      I hope the MCU round of films are more team balanced, spread the love around, and let Wolverine support in an X-Men film before being a lead in something derivative like a darker X-Force spin off.

    The 90s X-Men series was already "greatest hits" retelling of the comics. This revival is continuing the tradition with aplomb.

    One of the great joys of watching this show is seeing finally a comic accurate Rogue. One of the very best Marvel characters who's been done dirty by the Fox films.

      In their defence, they didn’t have the rights to use Ms Marvel/Carol Danvers.
      As inconsistent as the quality of the X-Men films were, there were some truly outstanding ones, like X2, DoFP and Logan.

      @@arc7375 Oh yeah, I like those movies as well but I'm really not talking about the power set here. Im talking about her overall character and attitude, it's just completely different in those movies.

    I just want you to know how much I appreciate you John and the geek buddies. I just had a co-worker and very close friend suffered several heart attacks at work and die hours later at the hospital last Monday. It hurts so much. Watching your shows helps me deal with it. Appreciate your content more than you know.

      @bajansamurai Před 21 dnem

      I think these last 3 episodes (and episode 1) were them finding a better balance of how much to pack in an episode. I'm able to appreciate it all regardless, but I'd rather get 15 episodes than 10 if they've got the material to make 15+ meaty ones, and they sure do (without dragging).

    A solid episode. Not the best, but not the worst. In fact I'd say it is pretty average for the show. I'd say each episode is ranked as follows:
    E1: 4/5
    E2: 4/5
    E3: 3.5/5
    E4: 1.5/5
    E5: 4.5/5
    E6: 3.5/5
    E7: 3.5/5
    Rogue was bad ass and loved that. When she threw Cap's shield... LOL So good.
    Nightcrawler's eulogy was so good.
    I do have a gripe that I'm sure most will roll their eyes at, and I get that.. but Cyclops being the first to rise after the team get blown up is an annoying thing they did in the original show as well. Why was he up first? This show seems to be doing nothing with Wolverine... even letting him have a healing factor. :( Some are happy about that, I am not. In the 90's show he wasn't THE main character.. he was A main character though. Each member had plenty of their own episodes. I think after that what with Evolution and Wolverine & the X-Men.. not to mention the live action, people got tired of Wolverine be the focus.. and I'm not saying we should go that far. But this is weird. It's like they feel 2 wrongs make a right. In other shows Wolverine was too focused on so we won't do anything with him. Sad.
    I'm really interested to see how the story with Bastion unfolds and how they adapt the stories for the show. I gotta say.. I never really imaged his voice being like the show.. I'm not sure what would have worked for me, but this one just didn't. Maybe it'll grow on me over the rest of the season.
    I do feel the show over all, while awesome, is rushed. Some seem to think that is a good thing, but man, I just want things to breath a bit and get a bit fleshed out. I'm not from this tik tok generation where attention spans are short though, so maybe that is part of it.
    I look forward to the final three episodes. I hope they have some really bad ass battles. I want everyone to get some cool shit. And yeah.. I want Wolverine to have at least one bad ass scene if nothing else. I'd love more but good lord.. at least one.

  • @hamhockbeans
    @hamhockbeans Před 20 dny

    I bet Bastion effected Gyrich and he is going to turn into a Prime Sentinel. Basically the human part dies and the program takes over like the Borg. I believe that is why Bastion killed him to turn him.

    Hi. Not X-Men related ( though I love the show so far) but I’m just curious if you guys have watched Monarch:Legacy of Monsters? I just finished and absolutely loved it. I’m not really a fan of the monsterverse or kaiju films in general but I really loved it. Most people complain about the human stories in the movies but the show had a fantastic one. Got me interested.
    Also, I am also interested in Minus One just waiting for digital cuz it didn’t have a PH release

  • @Sjaddix
    @Sjaddix Před 21 dnem +3

    No idea what they are doing with Sunspot. Most of this is pretty straight adaptation of the comics. But Berto coming out so to speak ain’t a Gay Allegory. It was explicitly about Anti Black Racism.

    • @bajansamurai
      @bajansamurai Před 21 dnem +7

      I don't know if that's the controversy around Sunspot's race that is making it seem like that's what it is, but any scene that involves a reveal of who one is tends to parallel with gender expression and sexual orientation based coming out more than anything about racism. Adding to that, it was common for rich parents to encourage their gay sons to be themselves in private, but still marry women and have 2.5 kids for optics.

    • @southernbellereviews5920
      @southernbellereviews5920 Před 20 dny +2

      Sunspot is definitely gives me gay allegory. Hiding who you are from your family because you are afraid of what they would think or say. Now I think Scott speech in that interview a couple of weeks ago was racism allegory or Beast speech to the reporter in this episode was very much black racism allegory

      youtube.com/@Sjaddix _Except_ that it's a bit hard to read the situation like that when it specifically mentions keeping his 'difference' hidden from the world. A black person cannot hide the fact they are black (nor should they!). A member of the LGBTQIA+ community is capable of 'hiding' who they are from public eyes (and they shouldn't!). This particular scenario between Roberto and his mother is definitely coded as a 'coming out of the closet' where she accepts him personally but not publicly (so, not truly acceptance). An anti-black racism storyline would involve his parents not accepting him for his skin colour, and that makes no sense.
