I'm tired of people saying, Zack is a terrible writer and should just stick with directing. These rebel moon films are not well directed at all and same goes for army of the dead. He's been bad in all areas for awhile now

The idea of not releasing Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, a film BASED on UK's history, STARRING a bevy of beautiful UK stars is tantamount to not releasing Saving Pvt Ryan in the US. WTF Amazon??

Rebel Moon 1 and 2 might be the two dumbest films I have ever seen in my life and that’s coming from a Zack Snyder fan.
I second that. And I am a pretty big snyder fan myself. But dude seems lost rn....? Hopefully he can find his footing and get back to dawn of the dead man of steel films that we know he can make.

I am a huge Snyder fan. I will defende Sucker Punch to anyone! I would LOVE to see ZSJL 2 and 3, but Rebel Moon…It didn’t work for me at all.

Not a surprise Rebel Moon sucked ass. The first one as was reviewed also sucked. But more importantly, this is why the DCEU wasn't coherent and lacking in terms of storytelling. Zack Snyder just isn't good at creating good characters and telling good stories in my opinion.

I still remember being shocked by Goggins in SOA. This was right after he played Boyd in justified. So it was such a stark difference. It literally shocked me. To this day I still remember that performance every time I see goggins on screen. Even as the Ghoul, who is my favorite television character rn. I could listen to him talk all day long.
Why does John always have to preface his criticisms of films by making sure we all know he's a fan of the director ?
Because otherwise the Snyder bros will come after him saying he’s a “HaTeR”. Don’t underestimate how delusional they can be.

Wheat. The whole movie is about wheat. Talking about wheat, shooting wheat targets, cultivating wheat. 40 mins of slo-mo harvesting of wheat. You’re telling me in this universe that there’s only wheat. They have the tech to resurrect Admiral Douce bag but they can’t lab grow food. Dumbest movie I’ve scene in a long time

I have to disagree. I don't think wild robot will make more money than transformers. Transformers is a known franchise and I'm sure we'll get more money than the unknown or hardly heard of wild robot.
The other thing Transformers has going for it is the cult following of lovers that love the toys, collectibles, TV series, and movies. Does Wild Robot have this?
I am someone who loves the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but from what I've heard, Rebel Moon 1 and 2 make the sequel trilogy look like Dune.

Argylle made 7 million in the UK so if Cavill's new movie performs anywhere close to that it would not be worth the advertising budget. Unless they put it in the theaters without any additional advertising

John, you often say that movies like Multiverse Of Madness would have the entire audience confused because they would have needed to do "homework" by viewing something else but how is that really any different than when people saw the Avengers for the first time and didn't know who Thor was because they never watched the original Thor movie? I remember during the early MCU where hardcore fans would explain to casual fans (or their families) in the theater the meaning & nuances behind some of the story beats like Loki being a bad guy and that was part of the excitement and wonder of the MCU that is it was this on-going narrative and massive story being collectively told and you as a fan of one part of it could go exploring other parts of it (if you wanted) or have it explained to you by fans/friends.

I've never had a problem multitasking when watching movies at home, for some reason.
In a theatre, I'm 100% focused. I'll get pissed off at people who talk during a movie, for instance, but at home I can be on the phone and still follow a movie easily. Go figure...

As a fan of Snyder's work I can't really think of why anyone cares about Rebel Moon. It looked like generic sci fi schlock. From what everyone says it's generic sci fi schlock, and the vast majority of social media/outlets says Snyder is a hack and that he has a cult like following (which I think has more to do with DC then Snyder) I just don't know why these movies are relevant. A million generic sci fi movies like this drop on streaming every month. I would understand if they were good.
I’ve been a huge fallout fan for well over a decade now and it was everything I could want in a show. Just the perfect cross section of making a great show and adapting the story and mood of a game.
I heard (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that there's a 35 second shot of a moving ship and nothing else is happening on the screen, which makes me think of that opening shot of Spaceballs.
I wonder whether Rebel Moon was originally pitched as a multi-episode series? To which Netflix then wanted it as a movie and a compromise of a two parter was settled between Netflix and Snyder et al? Considering the amount of exposition, disjointed structure and overpacked nature of Rebel Moon it perhaps suffers from a very poor distillation.
I honestly feel kinda bad for the actors. Like did they know how bad the movie was that they were making? Did no one watch dailys?
The interesting thing to me about Fallout's success is that it seemed like there was no marketing for it. Maybe I missed the ads (doubtful), but it appears that its success was more organically earned than paid for.
The fact they showed the trailer along side the boys and house of the dragon told me everything I needed to know about it

FTR, I’m specifically referring to his comment where he declares if CZcams can’t work properly then they’ll have to stop live-streaming the show altogether again?!? Did I miss something? Has this been an ongoing problem lately? Because AFAIK steaming issues with the live show rarely happen? Granted I don’t watch live EVERY day so, perhaps I’m wrong? Even so. It just seemed to be a crazy knee jerk overreaction in that moment? Keyword being OVERreaction. 🤷♀️

Like so many of you, I’ve followed John for many, many years, since AMC and Collider, but it’s always been clear that loyalty and fans mean nothing. 😂 After all…he never fails to remind that he is ready to flat out retire at any given moment, with zero notice…as we all know his final show will come with no warning! Why would this be any different?
dont kill me hot take not having seen Oppenheimer christopher nolan is very hit or miss there alot of his movies i like and alot i dont tenet being one i hate so to me hes a great director but not one my favs james gunn i would say i like more but at the same time i totally get why chris nolan is the best in the biz just alot of his films are very artsy
To here soooo many people discover and LOVE fallout now the way I jave for decades makes me so damn happy. Finally I get to discuss and be the smartest guy at the watercooler about the universe with my friends. They love it. And I have turned them onto some of the games and they hit me up this past week asking what to do with certain things and the universe.. man. Can't belive we get to have FALLOUT in the conversation of best shows. And John, thay NAILED it.. that universe is hard to do and they did it
I loved Rebel Moon Part 1, and Part 2 was merely good.
It’s important to note that Variety’s charts ONLY show original content. So all these show could behind syndicated material.
That's why it's extra worrisome. Because if snyder actually thought this was good. He's lost all touch. There's an interview where he states- "that people like this movie" so that shows he's got blinders on. I'm very worried about his next project. I really want to see him make something truly great again. Because he has the talent and vision.
Thank u for the long discussion about rebel moon part 2. I just hate that Snyder is wasting so much money like just lighting a couple hundred million dollars on fire. I say on fire because synder or any of the people that greenlit the screenplay should've known the story and dialoge was garbage. It's just too stupid. Wheat in space is the most precious resource?? Wtf just say it's a special super wheat that enhances your life or strength.. how easy is that to make it more believable and less stupid??

I wonder if Wild Robot actually moved hoping to give Transformers One a chance to demonstrate how bad it is (assuming that the negative talk online will accurately reflect the movie quality, which it might not), and then tbey can come out as the 'better alternate ' the following week, hoping to capitalize on that negative word of mouth they are expecting

While Rebel Moon was OK and had primise. Part 2 felt like the TV show they'd make if the movie was a huge hit. Felt like a Disney + show with boring moments and TOO much slo-mo.
I understand Ray. Rebel Moon Part 2 was bad, but once the battle began I was glued to the screen. I get depressed thinking all that eye candy could have been used in service of a better script.

Fall guy is probably my most anticipated movie release of late. Looks so fun. Every scene. And Gosling & Blunt together on screen. Zero fear this one will disappoint. Monkey man fell short for me, didnt deliver. Ungentlemanly was good but not much to it. I am definitely going to see Boy Kills world on friday tho. That looks like a blast. But Fall guy is the one.
You can never trust critiques, but you do need to get there sense of direction, because most people always live as a "they-self": in other words the Industry is determined by "Das Man".
I wonder if Amazon is experimenting with the idea that a North American theatrical release is enough to give the hype and good reviews for the streaming releases in other countries... Not sure it will work out for them, but it is a slightly different angle than has been tried before

@@ku6072 no worries, yeah, they gave up the studio because I guess it was only a 2 year lease and that time ended about a week ago…so since John decided they didn’t need that much space anymore they moved the show back to his home garage

The one time they should have used the Joker was in Batman v Superman. There's literally an animated series story they could have pulled from - Lex and Joker vs Batman and Superman. Big bad should have been Parasite. Metallo could have played a role too.

Shows, like movies and video games are all subjective so as far as my own personal preference goes, I think Fallout is better than The Last of Us. I'll take a show that expands or adds another chapter to a universe over a retelling of the video game to start. TLoU show didn't do enough to keep me going, maybe because I already knew the story to start with. But the Fallout show, while familiar, was new. I had to watch to find out what was going on.
You and me both. The Last of Us is very good, but it gets a bit worse over the course of the season. Fallout just stayed on that high.
Fallout drags a bit too much imo, the writing is also quite silly. But the acting is decent.

I actually really enjoyed the 1st movie & got excited when I seen the 2nd but DAMN!!!! after 20min I lost all interest.
It's like they got rid of all the things tht made the 1st movie good ex: story tellin, getting to kno the characters, action, graphics and got rid of everything besides the action.

Dawn of the Dead is great, Owls great, 300 great, DC trilogy was great (Synder Cut) that is but the big wigs couldn’t get out of his way. Rebel Moon awful and Sucker Punch was bad.
