Millie Gibson will be the main companion in season two along with Varada Sethu. RTD has said that the mystery of Ruby will span two seasons

Also I got the sense that the Star Trek reference meant visiting the cast and show, not that Captain Kirk really exists.
That could be a clever way around it for sure.
Love to see you covering Doctor Who now! I've rewatched the whole modern era loads of times and think that between the two episodes we got, the Devil's Chord is stronger. Especially since The Maestro ties back to the Toymaker and we are clearly going to dive into more connections there moving forward.
Happy to see you guys dive into Doctor Who. Got to finish the Tennant eps. Would think Russel T will make some call backs considering the bi-regeneration connection. Also just many great episodes with some great guest stars. Want hear Vogels reaction to Blink. And if Ten and Rose don’t make you shed a tear , you might be dead inside.
First starting watching Doctor Who while the Smith era was going and caught up from Christopher Eccelston. Great to see a channel I follow do review on it. I thought space babies was just a bit too silly for me. But if you’ve seen the pilot of the 2005 series you’d probably say the same thing. The Devil’s Chord has a lot more promise in the set up for the rest of the season which I’m looking forward to. BTW Millie Gibson is confirmed to be returning for next season. So we won’t be done with Ruby Sunday after this.
I have seen all of NuWho. Love it and love Nctui Gatwa and Millie. It took a couple of viewings for me to appreciate the Space Baby episode. Remember, the first episode of NuWho had Eccleston and Rose attacked by a Christmas tree. This show is a family show for older kids.

Hell yes I'm totally here for the Doctor Who discussions. I hate babies so episode one was rough for me, although I liked the commentary and the mystery of the monster. Episode two was great though

I love this new review of Doctor who I've been a fan since Paul mcgann Dr. Who movie. I've loved every tiny whimy moment since. Jinx Monsoon stole the show for me they've gotta be a recurring villian somewhere down the line you can't let talent like that go away, honestly I do gotta say Ncuti 3 episodes in jest okay but I'm waiting on that real moment with him. hes a fun doctor but I'm waiting for that moment he really shines.

She's enough of one to be able to use regeneration energy but she can't change her face
I may have seen 15 mins of Dr. Who in my entire life. But the description of this second episode is the first thing I've ever heard that has made me want to dive in on this show. Glad I didn't skip this review.
Watched Dr Who from the third doctor upto Capaldis run.
Tom Baker and David Tenant are my faves.
Guys, enjoyed your review. My first experience of Dr Who was when John Pertwee got bitten by a giant spider (so much more scary than the Daleks!) and regenerated to Tom Baker. However have to say I my favourite period is the Moffat era with both Matt Smith and Capaldi being my favourite Doctors so far.
One thing on the theories about Ruby. I do think we are building up to a return of Susan, as not only for the mention on the roof on Abbey Road, but her picture was on Capaldi's desk at the University where he meets Bill throughout series 10. Also with the Devils Chord, would it not have been better to have the chord that defeats Maestro be the final chord from a Day in the Life that ends Sgt Peppers? I would have also rather than a final song (which felt rather tacked on to fill time) have that incorporated into the music battle so that as Ruby weakens Maestro and people start to get music back they start singing/dancing, with John and Paul hitting the final chord to send Maestro back to wherever they came from!

Awesome you guys are officially on the Who train. Tom Baker will always be my Doctor but must say John the Doctor and Bill season is maybe my favorite single season story arc of all of them.

You have to watch “An Adventure in Space and Time”.
Even at its best, Doctor Who seasons/series have always been a combination of visually clunky, silly, poignant, and sometimes profound. I'm glad the progressive themes are handled again with more wit this season; during the previous Chibnall era they were ham-fisted and came at the expense of good storytelling.

Soooo glad you guys are reviewing the new Who eps!! I have to admit, I've been a fan for decades, but didn't like these first two EPS a whole lot. Looking forward big-time to next week though!

I really liked Ncuti and Millie. They have great chemistry. I don't love the constant exposition of the Doctor's history to Ruby. Fifteen feels a little too trusting of Ruby. She’s this giant question mark and he’s spilling a lot of secrets to her. If he's investigating who she is in secret, I don't know if he should be giving her a TARDIS key after 24 hours of knowing her. I guess I'm just used to Nine to Thirteen being protective of their history/more mysterious. I do feel a little cheated that by episode 2 they’ve just skipped 6 months. I loved Jinkx as Maestro and this season's Gods of the Universe mystery box. My complaints come from the writing. It feels like we are getting sped through Doctor Who basics with heavy exposition that also feels a little too unrelated to the question being asked. And the song at the end was kind of cringey.
