90's Disney kid here. We definitely had it good
YO YES INDEED WE DID. @patricksnyder7307 90s 80s and 70s and 60s best years of animation 2d lost its edgy in style somewhere in the mid to late 200's 2009 is where we lost carefully animated and well written 2d animated shows and films.
Bro those Caped Crusader images got me more excited for that show now
Glad its more talk on animation. Thank You
What "Twisters" needs is a cameo from the Outlaw in an all black outfit showing up as Glen Powell's character's childhood friend... that maybe goes the route of Goose to give Powell's character a motivation to dig deep XD
Making my t-shirts for it now!!
I too remember Mariko-samas beautiful poem "Flowers are only flowers because they get glued back on by greedy studios"
Lolol. Okay THAT was funny.
Hyped for that new Batman show 😃
Great, now I want a LOTR spoof with Andy Samberg playing Gollum
Secret Invasion was an isolated incident for Marvel's Disney Plus originals. The other projects are genuinely some of the best things that have ever happened to me. I rewatch them all the time! The only issue Marvel Studios has is with their movies.
I wish that were true
@IndianaJake Maybe it's not true for you, but it certainly is for me.
@@daltonmeadesmith it’s been financially proven to be true for most fans
@@IndianaJake Okay? I'm not gonna follow whatever the popular opinion is if that's what you're suggesting. That would be boring as hell. I go by my emotional investment.
@@daltonmeadesmithI get what they're saying to you. It's not just about following popular opinion (and I agree I like most of those shows), but a company cannot totally ignore the critical response, the financial outcomes and the average sentiment from the masses to make decisions based on the fact that some people still like most/all of them.
That said, people talk crap about Moon Knight. I like the show overall, but I can still critically suggest that the ending could be vastly improved. She-Hulk had some chuckles here and there, but it billed itself as a legal procedural comedy and then did not give us that or have a consistent tone. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had cool moments and some solid themes, but did not blow my socks off. Loki S1 was OK, not great, but at least S2 was much better IMO. Hawkeye was OK, but less than it should have been and disappointing with the Kingpin use. Echo seemed like it would take Kingpin back to DD series goodness but then ended with a lesser Kingpin again. I have very little complaints about either WandaVision or Ms. Marvel. So Marvel Studios' takeaway should be that if they're doing these shows, the point is to attract and lock people into Disney Plus or else it's a financial waste to do them. Tightening up the quality of ALL of them by taking more time to have solid quality control is key.
As for Secret Invasion, after watching it I was more and more convinced this series should have played out over 3 or 4 movies from the angle of finding out Skrulls are disguised in positions of power and on super teams, what a trusted core of characters will do to weed them out and counter their longterm plan, and then have their big confrontation when they're exposed.
Regardless, since both the shows and movies are overseen and quality controlled by the same core people (especially Feige), they have to take both into account about how far back to scale to make sure both are great.
As much as we decry studios not giving us original stuff, the studios are watching us and looking at the numbers and they're not listening to what we say, they're watching what we do. If we're going to point the finger at studios, maybe we need to start pointing it at ourselves first.
Unpopular opinion, at least on the internet. Iv been 100 percent satisfied with the mcu output, films and tv, over the last few years.
Me too and while there are projects I enjoy less than others for the most part I've been pretty satisfied.
I'm not *100%* (i think secret invasion was a genuine failure of the concept it was trying to pull off) but i would say like 9 out of 10 of the stuff i've been totally fine & dandy with.
People love to be negative and shame others for enjoying things. The MCU has been great and is still great. It's exactly what I wanted as a kid: a live-action and ongoing series of episodic superhero movies with crossovers.
Someone always gonna complain while I watch the movies and shows and go about my whole ass life!!!
Same
Andy Serkis would be perfect to play Spider-Man's enemy, The Jackal.
We got Batman: Caped Crusader release date & a new S. Craig Zahler movie announced in the same week, this weeks been the balls.
The hunt for Gollum is Aragorn and Gandalf looking for Gollum. They will have to recast Aragorn and Gandalf.
😂😂😂😂😂vogel nailed the darth maul thing lol
A new Batman show I have to wait for on DVD. Batman 85 years old Superman 86 years old
Re: WBD and LOTR - New Line did the LOTR trilogy and WB purchased them in 2008. The Hobbit trilogy was done under New Line's WB era and released by WB, so there's some continuity. De Luca and Abdy shepherding this, instead of Zaslav directly, is helpful.
Yeah. Lots of people don’t like The Hobbit trilogy so that only adds to the worries people have.
@@JohnRochaSays Fair point.
Ed Brubaker & Marc Bernardin are also writers on Batman: Caped Crusader! This is a very good sign for those who dont know their work.
I... I can't get enough of Michael heckling Rocha back ala the break songs where the first time (well, probably not /the/first time) Michael does it and gets hassled by Rocha for not being as good as Shannon 😄
Really loving this FF cast!
Twisters trailer is pitch-perfect. Can't think of a better way to reboot it. I think it will play really well on the big screen.
Good show guys hit alot of topics👍
Glen Powell is like the white blond hunky version of Jason Momoa. Every role Powell is in he acts the same. But, he’s charming and folks like him.
I think one of the shows they could bring back is Gargoyles?
Michael looks good in his Hercules shirt.
Oh stop it you 😊
Wonder how they are gonna explain that frank grillo doesn’t look much older than Joel kinnamens character. It’s kinda hard to believe he is his father. I know there’s an age different between the real actors but it’s only like 14 years in real life.
Very little explanation needed. It tends to be overlooked that the actor isn't necessarily playing a character that is their actual age. Flagg Jr could be late 30s and Sr mid-to-late 50s (with the easy visual of whitened hair to sell it).
@@bajansamurai I guess it’s just that frank grillo looks very good for his age and him and Joel don’t look alike at all.
@@jonlee6774 I get that, but really people are trying to cast good actors for roles, and they're not always going to be in a position to factor in how closely two related people resemble each other.
Timing perfect and look forward to thoughts on everything. Happy Rad weekend to you Awesome gentlemen 🙌🏾🤘🏼
Another great acting example that most seem not to know for Andy Serkis is as Singer Songwriter Fred Drury in bio film Sex Drugs and Rock n Roll. Treat yourself, check it out.
Delicious in Dungeon mentioned! ❤ (Hazbin Hotel too of course 😈 )
Delicious in Dungeon is delightful
@@michaelvogel7026 It is delicious.
batman news is great
My secret power? I see a pair of Hunkules people. The third one's missing, but I'm sure he's busy.
Andy Serkis might also be famous as Alfred in The Batman as more of those films are released
I don't think the Alfred role will ever be considered one of his marquee roles like Gollum, Caesar, or even possibly Ulysses Klaw, are though. He's always great or at least solid in any role though, including Alfred, so I guess it's about how much he's given to sink his teeth into with the next Batman.
FALL GUY And other movies that came out of the last two weeks, are also suffering from bad weather, especially tornadoes across the country.
What if the unfinished business between Christopher Smith and Flag Sr. is referencing something that happens in Creature Commandos. Is Gunn confirming Cena as Peacemaker shows up in that animated series before season 2.
Should have added Paul Dini into the Caped Crusader team.
I wonder if the Gollum announcement was kinda in the middle b/c maybe it feels like his story's been told (oh, Michael addressing it now - maybe I should wait to comment instead of posting as I watch lol) so people are like "Where are we going with this??" We're all just waiting for Tom Bombadil and Mephisto. Wait... wait!! Is Mephisto, Tom Bombadil?? 🤯
Gandalf: "I looked everywhere for the creature gollum, but the enemy found him first" - There, just saved Warner Brothers $150m and the audiance a $15 movie ticket. Seriously though, there is already The Hunt for Gollum fan movie that cost only $5,000 and pretty much told the story , I dont know why we need a big budget version of a very small side quest.
Dunno this years massive tornado season may hurt twisters.... may be just too soon.
Gunn did to DC what Disney did to Star Wars. Anything before 2024 is to be ignored. Just like, outside a few projects, anything before 2012 became Legends for Star Wars.
I think John Malkovich is playing Sue and Johnny Storm’s father Dr Franklin Storm or Franklin Richards from the future. Since the rumor is Galactus is searching for Franklin Richards. No way are they cramming in three to four villains in one movie
Guys….my Tolkien nerd heart needs to get two things out
1. Gollum movie is so dumb, his story has been told and I’m not a fan of Peter Jackson’s fanfiction tendencies
2. The War of the Rohirrim - first: it’s pronounced Ro-Here-Im 🙏
Second - THAT story I’m interested in, both because it’s animated and because Rohan’s backstory has a lot of interesting lore that could be explored. Tolkien envisioned Rohan as “Beowulf with Horses” - and that’s just cool.
I'll probably go see it, but Twisters gives me Force Awakens vibes.
For some reason, I feel like Malkovich is going to be something boring like Sue and Johnnys father
Bucky will be mentor to yelena
That is entirely possible, but people should also keep in mind that Yelena could be the movie lead that isn't actually the team's leader.
Hunkules indeed. Cool shirt.
A gollum movie can’t possibly be worse than Rings of Poop garbage
Who the eff is Glen Powell? All of a sudden the yanks are obsessed with him. I only heard of him through that trailer for that rom com that looked awful. Where did he come from?
Rick Flag Sr. has a son at... 14 years old? Weird.
The actors aren't playing their actual ages. Skew one 3 years down and the other up and that's a child at 20 years old.
9:27 🤔🤔 I don't think the problem with Fall Guy is that it's not IP, my lack of interest in that movie was different, first, too many trailers in my feed, which became annoying, and didn't explained what the movie was about, yes a lot of punches, but action without substance is not attractive to me, and after it came out, I found out it's a love letter to stunt work, maybe the marketing could have said that, I don't know....
Smog? 🤨
You know what I meant haha
I watched the Twisters trailer out of morbid curiousity and it did nothing to dispel my opinion from the first trailer, that Glen Powell's character seems like a arrogant and annoying prick.
That gollum game is one of the worst games ever made
Hey Rocha, why did you block me (The_Marvelorian) in your Bill.Maher/Bill Burr Twitter Thread? You said something that was factually inaccurate and I was correcting you. You said the Israel/Palestine conflict was super complex and centuries old. Do you just enjoy being ignorant on issues you clearly know nothing about? Does the historical record offend you? Do always throw tantrums and run away like a coward from facts? Well then, if you don't agree that it's actually 75 years old and is a simple issue of settler colonialism, please let Professor Norman Finkelstein, Ilan Pappe, John Pilger, Mouin Rabbani, Max Blumenthal, Gabor Mate, Miko Peled, Lowkey, Omar Baddar, Raz Segal, Richard Medhurst and Rahnia Kalek, know that they're all wrong and YOU Mr John Rocha the proficient scholar and historian and student of Aaron Rupar, is right? I'm sure you would have no problem convincing these well read and well educated people that they're undisputable understanding of Palestine is incorrect.
For the record I'm with you on Bill Maher. I don't like him either, I just thought you would be man enough to admit you're wrong about a topic you don't understand. An open-minded grown man would use that opportunity to enrich his knowledge and respond with "Thanks. I'll have a look". It's clear you have no interest. It explains your complicit silence of the genocide
