My Walmart regularly has the Federal Power Shok .270 Winchester 150 grain soft point now. I would really like to see this load tested here. I think it's an economy "sleeper" load that gets plenty of actual use by deer, bear, and hog hunters , but gets overlooked by those reviewing of ammo.

The performance of these was shockingly similar. Like you said, pick the one your rifle likes best. I’d like to see a direct comparison between these results and a test of the same bullets but loaded in 30-06.

I know what I am about to say is going to get on some people's nerves and I know that isn't what you are doing in this video but, please everyone do your research, I don't care what new caliber companies come up with and bring to the open market but the 308 has done it all, sniper round in the arm force's, it was the go to round for years loaded with the 168 grn bullets, just because you came up with what you think might be a new caliber (6.5 Creedmoor), like Hornaday did you don't have to dog the crap out of the 308, and just because some new caliber may do better doesn't mean the older caliber you keep dogging on will stop doing what it has been doing for year's, I mentioned the Creedmoor because that seemed to be the one everyone compares to the 308, well it's really time to stop because it has been around long enough that it should have already made a name for itself so........

Federal Fusion just seems to be about the best hunting ammo in the USA at this time. Thanks for the testing.

each one of the bullet weights has an ideal barrel twist rate to be matched to, therefore in order to do a fair test you would need three rifles all identical with except the barrel twist rates.

So the real difference would be energy @100 yards

Glock is the Honda civic of pistols...they are reliable they don't break down and they are something you buy your daughter

My T3 300 wsm loves the 165 grain load, if i do my part a dime will cover up a 3 shot 100 yard group. They've worked well for plenty of whitetails and a few elk

Also, not all 1911 are 1911 they could be 2011’s that are made out of steel and plastic. ALSO, if the 1911 is pure steel it can heat up so your gonna need gloves 🧤 for if it’s summer 👍

IV been waiting for 308 for soooooo long! Thanks . I wanted to ask one favour is it possible to do a 50 yard test with these? I really want to use fed fusion but it's not available in Australia I find the only bonded I can get (Sako super hammer head 150gr) falls apart as if it's cup n core

I have had similar results from hundreds of Federal Fusion rounds. Very consistent, excellent accuracy, ballistics and terminal performance.

I strongly agree with your conclusions. Living as I do in the Northwest, clearly these are excellent loads for blacktails and mule deer, but for big-bodied Roosevelt elk? They expand too much, as you noted. The Barnes and Swift A-Frame bullets are more popular for that purpose. The A-Frames have lately become crazy-expensive, though.

Fusion is my go-to factory choice for Kansas white tail 👍🏻

New hunter here. Just want to say your videos are fantastic!!

Obviously you would have to choose accuracy over everything else here. Especially on deer class game at the typical deer killing ranges. I like the muzzle velocity range of all three for deer class game. I'm not a big fan of blistering fast hyper expanding bullets and fragmenting bullets for edible game anyway. These hold together, expand well, and do plenty of damage at fairly moderated speeds it appears.

I'm curious if the 150gr is the same bullet loaded in the 300aac and how it performs in the smaller casing

I use the Fusion in both rifles and handguns. If they make a questionable load, I haven't met it. It's stunning from a lever action in 44 Magnum Nice presentation
