put simply our society, including the church, is missing the point. how do i as a man succeed? highschool prefers gender studies over auto shop. work prefers woke over being a leader or maverick. the church today seems to push a genderless agenda and is run by very old people who are past needing any goals other then to wake up.

men. look at church policy changes over time. brigham young made and sold whisky. many before him smoked and drank had multiple wives. dont get me wrong, i like the emphasis on NOT doing these things. but men need an outlet. we are dumber and dont live as long and at the same time we need ways to be comforted. prohibition in the 1920's also saw the word of wisdome become a barrier between men and the temple. prohibition died but the barrier exists. if a man can not find a way to see they can succeed, please those around them, and make a difference he will just stop going. school, work, religion is moving to rewarding female behaviour.... if i dont have cheap rewards and cant go to the temple why not spend my tithing on a boat or nice car or vacation???? so we how have a few men, very good men, that work hard, have kids, and die. if i cant go to the temple with my partner and enjoy the love that is there why should i go to church every sunday? why try?

I must say, having lived through Church meetings since the 50s, I do not like the 2 hours per week where EQ and RS meet every other week. When there's conference or some other special meeting, it may be 3 weeks before the either the EQ or RS gets to meet. It is not easy to retain much of a sense of continuity this way. I never thought 3 hours was too much to ask of members.

He has been a physician for many of the Q15 over the years. I was complaining during our conversation how LDS elected leaders were supporting Trump given his conduct and pending Senate impeachment trial. I told him I wouldn't be surprised if Pres. Nelson also was a Trump supporter. My physician friend told me he had personally heard Pres. Nelson say "Trump is an evil man. I could never vote for him."

Out of curiosity, and I'm being sincere (not trying to gaslight), are you somehow equating those who favor the Mesoamerican model over the Heartland model with those who are embracing the belief that Joseph Smith didn't practice polygamy? Personally, I favor the Mesoamerican model but I also acknowledge I could be wrong. Both models have their problems in my opinion. But, it's not something I really care that much about because regardless, the Book of Mormon is true! However, I'm unable to see how any rational Latter-day Saint could embrace the idea that Joseph Smith didn't practice polygamy. I really hope you'll answer my inquiry above. The Tree of Life Vision shows the destruction of the Jaredites in Egypt. Riplakish built the large and spacious buildings in Ether 10:5. Fine Linen is mentioned in Ether 10:24. They begin to "mock" in Ether 12:23-26. All of this happened near the "Narrow Neck of Land" (Ether 10:20) which is the Isthmus of Suez in Egypt. The Jaredites started in Ethiopia (Garden of Eden Genesis 2:13) and migrated North to Egypt. Then they sailed to Israel and settled the Biblical Promise Land. They brought the Milk and Honey. Prophets like Omer in Ether 9:3 migrate back South to Egypt. The downfall of the Jaredites is in Egypt. When Lehi leaves Israel he goes into Egypt. The Vision is describing the downfall of the Jaredites in Egypt. It's meant as a warning for Lehi and his posterity. The Destruction of the Nephites is connected to the vision by the angel when the angel speaks to Nephi in 1 Nephi 12. The vision commands Lehi return to the starting location of the Jaredites and not stay in Egypt or suffer the same fate. The vision commands he follow the Nile to Ethiopia, the Garden of Eden and the location of the Tree of Life. The river in the vision is the Nile. Lehi migrated to Ethiopia. Helaman 3 is a description of migrating back North to Egypt. That chapter goes into detail describing Egypt. "Treeless", "cement", "shipping" etc. all describe Egypt to the North of Ethiopia. Egypt is where the Nephites were destroyed same as the Jaredites. This is why the angel tells Nephi about the destruction of the Nephites in association with the Tree of Life Vision in 1 Nephi 12. The angel mentions it will happen on the same river as the on in the vision (1 Nephi 12:16). This is the Nile. The BOM is the story of the Lord's righteous migrating between Ethiopia and Israel and getting destroyed in Egypt. This is what Jeremiah was talking about in Jeremiah 44. A lot of other details point to this like the word "desolation". Jeremiah 44 claims Egypt will become a "desolation". This is why the Nephites refute the idea of "desolation" in Helaman 3:6 when they explain they are migrating back to Egypt. Another word is "forbidden". Lehi sees the righteous falling onto "forbidden paths" and we read in the Book of Abraham that "Egypt signifies that which is forbidden". This all goes along with the theory that the destruction of the righteous happens in Egypt. In their minds, the entire world is just Africa and Asia and they are separated by the Isthmus of Suez in Egypt. One great ocean and two land masses connected by a "Narrow Neck of Land". Ether 2:13 and Ether 10:20 are both describing the Isthmus of Suez in Egypt. Retrace the migrations (forward and backwards) from there and you'll see what I'm saying. The Jaredites started in Ethiopia (Genesis 2:13) and migrated to Israel then back South to Egypt where they are destroyed. Lehi was forced to migrate South to Egypt where he was warned no to stay there by seeing the Tree of Life Vision and the destruction of the Jaredites. He migrates to Ethiopia and the Nephites survived until they migrate back to Egypt in Helaman 3 where they are eventually destroyed as well. Moroni included the story of the Jaredites to give greater context to the Tree of Life Vision. He assumed you would realize the "large and spacious buildings" were built by Riplakish in Egypt. He assumed you would realize the "continually flowing river" is the Nile in Egypt.

Um... Wow.. I'm not sure how you got that so wrong without pain. No. Religion really is about control. The problem is that religion is REALLY GOOD at it and communism isn't. This is shown by you, a Christian, saying that it isn't when everything points to it ACTUALLY being a control cult. So... What communism needs is to be the ONLY control system available. You need to control everything and everyone. When people talk, it must be about "The people" or "The state"... You can't allow a third option, God in this case. Also... YOU must be the person at fault. Now, this is mirrored in religion... So we can't have that because that would mean that religion and communism are the same. NO... COMMUNISM IS THE ONLY WAY! So... That is why communism will always remove or take over, usurp if you will, any religion in the region. It will also then remove or chastise any comment on communism. Communism may well get things wrong but they always have the best of intentions and lessons will be learned. This is no different than religion... Except that religion will never be wrong and you always will be.
