Kansas City Chief's kicker, Harrison Butker gives a "controversial" speech at Benedictine College. The media has attacked him for what? For speaking positively about men, encouraging women to be homemakers, and supporting religion. The world goes bonkers on such things.
His speech went viral because he spoke what so many won't say. He pushed against the Spiral of Silence, talked about the cultural "noise," and supported good traditions.

What an insane world we live in! A man congratulates and honors his wife for the very difficult job of being a wife and stay-at-home mother and that's somehow "controversial?" We need to hear more of this from Church leadership, women today are being deceived by the world telling them they "Don't need no man," and that happiness will come from a successful career and avoiding raising a family of their own. This couldn't be further from the truth. I'm glad Harrison Butker had the courage to do this, good for him!

This speech was powerful and one I will save! As a woman, mother and homemaker, I am so grateful that Butker is taking a stand to defend women and men and our eternal roles. His speech is powerful because it’s true. I hope Butker knows he is not standing alone. Thanks for sharing.

I remember when The Family Proclamation was given by the church and my first thought was “of course, this is obvious to most people”. Yet, here we are. Revelation is real, and if ignored, as many times in the past, it will be to the detriment of those who ignore it.

100%. Mark my words ......In the same way, 10-20 years from now many current tacit feminist members will be sitting around in massive depopulation and economic decline saying that feminism was designed to destroy the family and yet we were so blinded by it. Its time people start to read and understand the current war.

Thank you Greg! I had seen this all over social media but didn’t realize what the controversy was about until watching this. My wife, who is much wiser and probably would be a much successful earner than myself, decided after much fasting and prayer before our first child was born that she needed to stay home and raise our children. It was easier back then to make that decision as many of our church leaders spoke out about the need for sisters to be in the home at the crossroads of life when our children needed them. Today, that decision would be much more difficult with the silence and even back-stepping we see with public affairs pushing and promoting “successful” women who are now leaders in their organizations. My wife has commented about how things have changed wondering at times if she made the wrong decision to not go on to graduate school? I’m not sure why we had such a strong answer to those prayers, but it was undeniable. It makes us wonder though why things have changed so much over the years.

Butker says the things "the church" and church culture should BOLDLY be saying and teaching . Ive said these very same things and been shunned repeatedly . Traditional roles in marriage are considered oppressive . Ironically ,Toxic masculinity can mean a man is not feminine enough. Careers are pushed over marriage. Children are seen as impediments to materialism and travel and careers and the climate change.
Most all the above are founding and second wave + feminists mission statements. We preach against marxism but the truth is that the church culture is SATURATED in marxist feminism.....with its founding intent to destroy religions hierarchies , constitutional government hierachies (and protections) AND primarily families .....and I am stunned how small of a percent see and understand this inside the church.
OUTSIDE the church preachers and pastors are taking this on as it's a hot topic while we seem to arrogantly blow it off at the peril of the youth . 15 yr olds are already nihilistic about marriage. The culture is steeped in this right now and we are asleep at the wheel.
Nancy Pearce (former feminist turned christian), author of "The toxic war on masculinity" lays out the war on families and Christianity . Suzanne Venker has been doing this same thing for a decade. Rachel Wilson ( Eastern Orthodox christian) wrote " Occult Feminism", laying out the whole marxist and evil plan that is now in full swing. Esther Rasband (Lds author ) was in the beginning stage of writing her new book on how destructive feminism is but she died 2 years ago. She was my mother's neighbor and said we are not understanding the inherent design and danger of feminist prescriptions upon the proclamation and family formation
Women today are more unhappy than ever and I highly doubt 95% of people have read this far but the list of how bad men are failing today far eclipses women in rates of suicide, addiction , porn....and ironically in a very promiscuous society ....sexless more than ever (hypergamy ...same issue seen with polygamy) . I could write a lot on mens decline as well but feminism is the root of the destruction of both genders.
Anyway, give yourself a gold star if read more than the first sentence.

I haven’t heard anyone but clergy speak so clearly about men and woman’s responsibilities in families. Even the audience response was interesting, not at all how I’d heard it covered in media. Like Harrison said, don't listen to, or follow, "outside noise". These are distractions. As Christ declared, the believers will be persecuted. We need to stand-up for truth - and righteousness. Captain Moroni raised his 'Title of Liberty' because he saw the destructions coming upon his people - from within. We need strong and good fathers. We need strong and good mothers. God wants his children to rise up to Him, not sink to Satan. Good message, Greg.

We are in shock at the standing together (leaders) in the lie vs. standing the truth. Sweeping under the carpet at its finest and they can't seem to let it go. Fortunately both are testimonies are very strong and onward we go and we have chosen not to gossip about or defamed them for what occurred in God's temple.

I agree 💯 percent!!! I have a slightly different situation that Heavenly Father gave my husband and I to deal with! We couldn't physically birth children. We did all the things to make that happen, to no avail. We were blessed by his extended family to have 2 beautiful girls come into our home. We've adopted those girls. The moment we found out we were going to be parents, I, through much prayer and fasting, came to the realization that I must quit my profession and start a new one. My husband agreed, that was what must be done. We are not wealthy by the worlds standard. However, what we are is Eternally Wealthy. It's not for every family situation. We have zero regrets. Has this been hard, yes, rewarding, absolutely. I am first and foremost, a Daughter of God. Second, a wife, 3rd, My greatest of all titles, MOTHER, that gets to stay home full time! The only judge I care about is the Holy one on High!

I love his speech. I think it's very much needed now. I listened to a talk given in October General Conference in 1974 by President Kimball and he said a lot of the same things and as I listened I thought how much that talk is needed today. It would be unpopular but needed. After this graduation speech was given Gayle King on CBS this Morning commented something like that we can't say things like that today. I thought how her comment today rings true with those throughout history who rejected and stoned or killed the prophets for telling the truth. There is only one TRUTH, and that's God's truth, the rest are all opinions of that truth. Being nice or kind is being a true witness of Jesus Christ and telling people the truth of God.

Statement from the nuns at Benedictine:
“The sisters of Mount St. Scholastica do not believe that Harrison Butker’s comments in his 2024 Benedectine College commencement address represent the Catholic, Benedectine, liberal arts college that our founders envisioned and in which we have been so invested.
Instead of promoting unity in our church, our nation, and the world, his comments seem to have fostered division. One of our concerns was the assertion that being a homemaker is the highest calling for a woman. We sisters have dedicated our lives to God and God’s people, including the many women whom we have taught and influenced during the past 160 years. These women have made a tremendous difference in the world in their roles as wives and mothers and through their God-given gifts in leadership.
Our community has taught young women and men not just how to be ‘homemakers’ in a limited sense, but rather how to make a Gospel-centered, compassionate home within themselves where they can welcome others as Christ, empowering them to be the best versions of themselves. We reject a narrow definition of what it means to be Catholic. We are faithful members of the Catholic Church who embrace and promote the values of the Gospel, St. Benedict, and Vatican II and the teachings of Pope Francis.
"We want to be known as an inclusive, welcoming community, embracing Benedictine values that have endured for more than 1,500 years and have spread through every continent and nation. We believe those values are the core of Benedictine College.

An interesting aspect that isn’t getting the media attention is his commentary on the traditional Latin mass. He espoused his preference of the traditional Latin mass and felt others should worship similarly. That more traditional sense of worship is not necessarily a view of the Catholic Church as a whole. Frankly, it’s a fairly controversial take in itself. There is some context to take from that.

Yep so sad. My coworker had his first kid. Got 3 months parental leave both him and his wife. Then right back into work and a 3 month old child in daycare for 8 hours. I think a large part is rooted in money. For women to make as much as men they have to stay in the work force for experience. And so feminism requires a message that motherhood leads to inequality because it sort of does. They lose out on time in workforce which means they lose out on promotions. But that is what sacrifice means. It means we give up something we want so we can have something better.

If we get puffed up by thinking that we have much knowledge, we are apt to get a contentious spirit, and correct knowledge is necessary to cast out that spirit.”
It’s definitely a balance. We have to keep because if we are constantly in each other’s faces about these topics, then it can be counterintuitive. We need to find a way to communicate without creating meaningless arguing.

I always thought feminism was all about letting women choose what they want to do with their lives. But wanting to be a full time mother and homemaker? Somehow that is betraying womenhood. Hogwash. Being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker have been the best parts of my life, and I am so grateful to my husband who supports me. I now work in a school full of students from broken homes, single mothers and neglectful parents and boy, do I see the consequences of that.

I have this rule where whenever I read a mainstream title with words like "backlash," "controversial," "blasted," etc, I understand "a good thing just happened." Also ... the "catholic" school he gave the speech on, criticized his speech ... you know why? because Christianity's density right now is close to 0.

Im feeling like theres a misinterpretation going on here; nobody that I know personally has issues with home makers and raising kids, consider our current economic situation, many women don’t want to bring children because they cannot support them properly. Also the speech was done at a graduation where students have worked so hard to work towards careers so urging students to not use that diploma seems unfair. If this speech was done somewhere else maybe it would be less controversial.
Disclaimer: This is just my personal opinion I haven’t done much research on the topic and I am a little biased.

The feminist ideologies destroyed relationships and families. You cannot put men down without hurting and ultimately putting women down. God's plan requires both men and women working together to raise families. It is not a coincidence that kids suffer when they only have one parent.

Popular social media Trend right now is asking women if they would want to be alone in the woods with a bear or a man. They are choosing the bear. They were then asked if they would want to be with a man or a woman. They are choosing the woman. They are then asked if they would want 1B dollars or kids. Choosing 1B. Women very regularly say they dont need a man.
I dont think married people over 40 really understand whats happening right now unless they deep dive and study it. The family is under extreme attack but not the family that already exists but destroying family formation from ever taking place. Your kids are walking right into this fire if not married early in life or live outside the 4 state Lds single dominant areas.

Hey, Ruckin. I was sealed to my wife in 1984. The feminists got her in 2021. It is a problem for everybody. My daughters embrace the Gospel and the family Proclamation, but all of our children keep one foot in Babylon. The "evils" of patriarchy, you know.

@@rolandsmith4394 sorry bud. its a massive issue so many are blinded to. I am against feminism because I am pro women and love them and am pro-family. Meanwhile men are under heavy attack today . Every 3.5 mins men are portrayed negatively on TV according to reformed feminist turned Christian Nancy Pearcy and there are constant articles where men are stated as unnecessary . It's very common trend today for women to say "I dont need a man". Especially in singles / dating circles. The youth , if not married early and well, hardly have a chance today especially as they hit their mid 20s and move away from SLC-Orem/ Utah where pickings are extremely small . Consequently we are watching the youth collapse and fall away from the church in large numbers. Marriage is the main glue that keeps the 20+ yr olds in the church or greatest determinant that they remain in the church yet marriage today is perceived negatively even in the church (some for good reason....such as the extremely punitive and unfair divorce laws and stats for men)

I agree, but disagree. Contention is of the devil. Charity is the love of Christ. At the same time we must stand with courage when faced with sin and evil idealogies. Niceness, kindness, and politeness are high in value because Christ was nice, kind, and polite, but he also was bold and ferocious when standing up against hypocrisy of Pharisees, Sadducees, and Sanhedrin.

  • @Christ_in_You-theHope_of_Glory

God and Jesus and the apostles established the early Church and then man made religion crept in so the supply of the Holy Ghost was restricted until the latter rain revivals of the 19th century along with the bible being available to the common man some began to come out from man made religion. Jesus said he would destroy man made religion such as Islam, Judaism and Nominal Christianity with the brightness of His appearing. Therefore man made religion will be completely wiped out as the outpouring of the Holy Ghost gains momentum culminating in the 2nd coming of Jesus and the harvest.

I shouldn't be surprised considering this channel preaches cultural marxism, whose origins are rooted in neo Nazi ideology and cited by a modern terrorist who took 8 lives with a car bomb in Norway back in 2011. You should read the terrorist's manifesto about it sometime; I think you'd truly enjoy it and agree with its ideas.
