Isaiah prophesies using the conflicts and decay of civilizations in his time. This is what enamors the writings of Isaiah to Nephi. Nephi saw in vision his own people going through the same decay. Are we to do the same. Will we arrive at "A Day of Reckoning?"
The destruction of the family, sexual liberation, feminism, and malevolent compassion are found in Isaiah's writings. Be sure to join the Isaiah Institute in their virtual conference, "A Day Of Reckoning," on the Book of Isaiah.

I have found so much wisdom and power in this quote from President Nelson in the 2019 Women's session. It has resonated in my ears ever since hearing it. - “My dear sisters, your ability to discern truth from error, to be society’s guardians of morality, is crucial in these latter days. And we depend upon you to teach others to do likewise. Let me be very clear about this: If this world loses the moral rectitude of its women, the world will never recover.”
We are seeing what Isaiah spoke about with the daughters of Zion happening in real time. President Nelson warned of it right before things really started to kick off in earnest in 2020.

Sadly that will flow right into a fulfillment of Isaiah 4: 1.
We can't afford to have our heads in the sand thanking God that we will never live polygamy. God married Mary, Jesus was NOT a bastard. If we want to live as God does, we must start preparing our hearts to tackle this issue. Lest we be blindsided by a sudden change of church policy.

There’s a nice ABCDCBA chiasm in 2 Nephi 11, including a mini chiasm in B. The central theme to this Chiasm (D) is the “great and marvelous work” of gathering and restoring Israel, which Nephi identifies as the covenants that the Lord has made to “our fathers”. He links this idea of the Restoration to the words of Isaiah (A), and of proving the coming of Christ (C) when he says he “delights” in each of these things. To Nephi, these things go together.
After saying that he delights in proving the coming of Christ (C), Nephi proves His existence in (B), and the mini chiasm (Ba) by telling us that he (Nephi) has seen Christ. Not only Nephi, but Jacob, and Isaiah as well. And as he mentions in verse 3, “by the words of three, God hath said, I will establish my word.”
A= Nephi writes the words of Isaiah and likens them to his
    people.
Ba= Nephi sends the words to his children.
Bb= Isaiah, Jacob, and Nephi have seen the Redeemer.
Ba= Nephi sends the words to his children as proof.
C= Nephi delights in proving the coming of Christ.
D= Nephi delights in the covenants of the Lord to his our
    Fathers. (the Restoration of Israel)
C= Nephi delights in proving the coming of Christ, else we all
    perish.
    B= Christ does exist.
A= Nephi writes the words of Isaiah so that we may liken them to
    us and rejoice.

A few years ago when we were studying the Old Testament for "Come Follow Me", I watched Brother Halverson's videos, particularly his explanation of how to view and read Isaiah with regards to Hebrew poetry.
His lessons have been so helpful for my understanding of viewing the Scriptures and the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
I've also learned that my Scripture Study can become more enlightening and interesting when I try to see possible parallels between what I'm currently reading or studying and the things I've noticed happening in my own life or the situations around me.
I've noticed this years ago when reading the War Chapters in The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Chapters 60, & especially 61 have been very eye opening with regards to what I was noticing happening politically within the United States. (I think it was even before 2020!)
Also, I feel like Jeremiah and Hosea, while they were assigned to use object lessons (Jeremiah with objects, Hosea with his family), they too were striving to warn the people.
Thank you for sharing this important message and the link to the Isaiah lesson! ❤

I'll be there too, presenting about secret combinations, which will peak when the blood of saints is shed, and the Lord will be empowered to execute vengeance Ehter 8:22-25. The Lord's "vengeance" is the King of Assyria (Isaiah 10:5), "the rod of his anger," and the end-time figure that we know as the antichrist or, better, the beast in Revelation 13. There is so much we will be showing as a framework and sequence of what is coming from Isaiah's prophecy and the scriptures. Despite all the "bad news" that some of these topics present, Isaiah still means that "God is salvation," and the righteous should not fear.

Greg, once again the comment section reveals that for a vocal subset of your audience, including apparently Gileadi himself, the “precision” of Isaiah’s prophecies includes the expectation that the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve are heading into apostasy. It doesn’t seem like you share this view, so I think you ought to pin him to the wall on this point once and for all. I get that you don’t want to gratuitously reduce your audience by giving offense, and perhaps you have some kind of commercial relationship with this conference. 13For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts. 14Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. 15The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. 16For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. 17Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. 18For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke. 19Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.

Many know I'm not a fan of Gileadi or the Isaiah Institute. I don't think many things they teach are contrary to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but some things are. Some teachings also don't align with my personal revelations on Isaiah. I understand that not everyone has gone through the same process as I have and won't have the same knowledge. However, just because one is highly learned doesn't make them correct, and we need to find out for ourselves what is true.
Our scriptures are meant to be studied with the Holy Ghost, and by the power of the Holy Ghost, we can understand Isaiah.
It is interesting how many are not ok with woke ideology creeping into the church but are ok with the secular ideas of Isaiah that our church doesn't teach.

Interestingly, women have been compared to Christ in terms of love for their children. When the most generally Christlike people in society (women) fall, that's when you know the society is basically gone.

Many different dispensations have been under the rule and pattern of several different prophets, in their rules, commandments, way of life, social norms, blessings and condemnations. Very specificly we are told we are under the covenants of Abraham; not Adam, Isaiah, Moses, king this or king that, but unmistakably Abraham. God says, -heres the example, heres the mold, heres the combination of characteristics, and herein rests what you are expected to do to be blessed; copy Abraham. Thats what being under the abrahamic Covenant means. We don't get to choose only to receive the blessings, we also have to do the works of Abraham. It is not a la carte, it is not a teddy bear style Abraham; it is a, do this or else. Follow Abraham and be blessed regardless of the pressures of the world and the persecution. But this is not understood. We have a very important puzzle piece missing out of our understanding of what it means to be adopted into the lineage of Abraham. Too many people like to be soft on these Commandments or dismiss them. Too many people lack a true understanding and testimony of all of these things, and not just the ones they pick and choose. The gospel under Abraham is in no way a easy and lovingly inviting fluffy pink clouds and bunnies. It is not always feel good and comfortable and peace of mind and la di da. It is getting in line. It's not afraid of offending anybody at all including countries Kings principalities and Powers. It's message very much so causes mobs to combine. And not just here or there from time to time but an endless one that's only growing, which we have somehow sidestepped. We have derated the gospel of Abraham to such a degree where it is no longer offensive, just confusing. Christ himself was not always just opening his arms looking to hug people while he was here on earth, he was flipping over tables and yelling. He says that those who hate you, hated me first, and that's where he leaves it. I am so tired of trading in the truths and Covenants of God for public peace and the appearance of love, to be more inviting and to be more sharing and to be more christ-like, except to be christ-like means to keep covenants and you don't sabotage your word just because of social pressures. To be christ-like means to not give in, it means, to get behind me Satan I'm not interested in holding your hand in kindness, you want kindness then keep the Commandments and keep the covenants and stop changing my laws. He says I don't care if it's uncomfortable, do you really think I was comfortable being nailed to a cross? Knock it off with the excuses and get on with it

God has already given us the answer. The love of money is the root of all evil.
Not sex, in any of its forms. In fact, I think sex surely comes after power and pride, but they may as well all tie for last when compared to the attachments we all form to money, and the implications of those attachments…the downstream effects.
Think about the reasons why that would be.
Read Hugh Nibley’s Approaching Zion. He makes a very good number of points.
Or, just believe God, and work out why He is right.

The offering by the sons of Levi as mentioned in D&C 13 will not be fulfilled because of the red heifer sacrifice. The red heifer sacrifice doesn't follow the Lord's prescribed order. To offer an offering "in righteousness," the sons of Levi must offer a broken heart and contrite spirit and acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Redeemer. The Jews as a people aren't there. Christ also said that blood sacrifice was no longer acceptable to Him because he offered himself as the sacrificial lamb and overcame death and hell:
3 Nephi 9:13-20 "17 And as many as have received me, to them have I given to become the sons of God; and even so will I to as many as shall believe on my name, for behold, by me redemption cometh, and in me is the law of Moses fulfilled....And ye shall offer up unto me NO MORE THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD; YEA, YOUR SACRIFICES AND YOUR BURNT OFFERINGS SHALL BE DONE AWAY, FOR I WILL ACCEPT NONE OF YOUR SACRIFICES AND YOUR BURNT OFFERINGS. And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me A BROKEN HEART AND A CONTRITE SPIRIT. And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost, even as the Lamanites, because of their faith in me at the time of their conversion, were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and they knew it not.

He spoke of the "blind watchmen," the "dumb dogs," and the "drunkards of Ephraim." Isaiah saw the modern LDS church and its leaders, including RMN and the others among the Q15.

Hugh Nibley (Approaching Zion) described Sodom and Gomorrahs main sin as one of economy. (Sexual sin being in all societies of history and having its own self limiting elements). But these two cities were so elitist that they made it illegal to help the poor. Build into their legal systems were all kinds of ways to rise to the top, and be vicious to their fellow man. Hugh Nibley argues that economy was their downfall, not sex.

    • @CwicShow
      @CwicShow  Před 3 měsíci +5

Thanks for commenting. The sin of Sodom is always put into the context of sexual sin, and sometimes specifically homosexual sin. This is found throughout the scriptures. In addition, if you look at the Joseph Smith, translation of Genesis 19:11-12 it becomes very obvious. This doesn’t mean that elitism wasn’t a problem. But the men of Sodom were not asking for the men and women to be taken out of lots house, so that they could mock them and exclude them from their clubs. I don’t remember Nibley talking about this specifically but if he did, this would be a rare point of disagreement.

Nibley is fantastic and brilliant. But if he truly argued that the sin of sodom was not sexual, then i have no hesitation to say he was wrong. No doubt their sins were many, including the neglect of the poor and the needy. But we all know what it means to refer to "the sin of sodom," which is clearly homosexuality and unequivocally condemned throughout scripture.

Yea, a commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah. 2 For surely he spake as touching all things concerning my people which are of the house of Israel; therefore it must needs be that he must speak also to the Gentiles. 3 And all things that he spake have been and shall be, even according to the words which he spake. Three things, first Jesus have us a commandment to read the Scriptures. #2 everything he said has been and shall be #3 it's time to realize that you, the reader of the book are identified with the gentiles. Cwic Media, I think the argument that Isaiah applies to all peoples and shows the patterns of the rise and fall of civilizations is problematic. Not all civilizations rise off of inspiration and adherence to Godly principles and then fall from their abandonment. The number of counterexamples to such a view are legion. The Assyrian Empire did not rise off of inspiration and adherence to Godly principles and fall from their abandonment. Rome did not rise and fall from a failure to adhere to Godly principles. The same can be said of Greek civilization, or the Ottoman Empire, or Tang Dynasty, or the Mughal Empire, or the Ancien Regime of France etc. The assertion is overly broad and attempts to explain too much.
I think you would be on a firmer footing if the claim was restricted to the House of Israel and those under covenant with the Lord.

I think there is an earnest attempt to avoid Isaiah's condemnation of ecclesiastical leaders, as that may indict the current leaders if one confines it to the covenant people of the Lord, like it should be. It is safer to expand Isaiah's message to babylon and thereby avoid that uncomfortable reality. No doubt, this same tendency has been among the Lord's people from the beginning, and it has nearly always led to their being led to destruction, just like the ancient Israelites were in their time. The only safety is in the spirit and love of the truth, or things as they really are, not as you suppose or wish them to be.

@@Avoicecyringinthesuburbs Of course. I agree, like the Savior said the gospel net gathers fishes of all kinds, and I certainly don't agree with everything that is said and done in local congregations. I think sometimes leaders have a hard time speaking up, because of confrontations that can occur, but generally they do the best they can to keep people coming unto Christ. None of the leaders asked to be called as presidents or bishops, but were asked by a leader to do it, which means a tremendous amount of sacrifice of time away from their own families and hobbies to help build God's kingdom. They aren't compensated monetarily for this work in any way. I hear people criticize the leading brethren for the way they lead the church, but I thinks it's unfounded. One of the things they bring up is about the money that the church has, but the brethren have done many things to help people with the resources we have from the perpetual education fund, byu pathways, humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and much much more. For example, I live in a border city that's experienced heavy amounts of immigration, and it's The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that's sent truckloads of food down to our area, to help relieve people. If you calculate the total dollars the church has, it only equates to six thousand dollars per member. I don't think the Lord wants the brethren to spend all the money and empty the bank accounts. He wants them to be wise stewards. I believe they are saving for a future economic meltdown that is sure to come, because of weak fiat currencies, so they can help their members and other people survive. They are also saving to build God's kingdom, the New Jerusalem. This is why they invest in land and other things to maintain the value of the sacred funds. The current leaders have been faithful in inviting people to come unto Christ, and building up God's kingdom. Most of them worked their entire lives in their own careers to provide for themselves, and they aren't getting rich off the church to build themselves up. They live in regular houses, so to say that they are grinding the faces of the poor, I don't see that it applies to them currently. D&C 88:14 "For Zion must increase in beauty, and in holiness; her borders must be enlarged; her stakes must be strengthened; yea, verily I say unto you, Zion must arise and put on her beautiful garments." This takes resources to do, like places of worship and temples as were had anciently. All of us who pay tithes and offerings have cast into the Lord's storehouse so that this can be done. Isaiah's words are certainly a warning to leaders and members to be watchful, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the church at this moment is falling into those errors. We have a 200-year history, and perhaps many more years to come.

@@christophertolman7023 The Lord stated the things which Isaiah wrote have been and shall be. You simply cannot get around the fact that your perception of reality is simply not accurate when it comes to what the Lord says Isaiah is saying.
You do not believe the Lord when he says that Isaiah's description of ancient Israel's wicked and corrupt state, including its leaders, is applicable to us. Therefore, you do not believe his words shall be. Somehow in your mind modern Israel will not repeat ancient Israel's apostasy. You point to all the good things we do, yet did Paul not say though I give all my goods to the poor, or my body to be burned, that without charity I am nothing?
The pattern is that the Lord's covenant people nearly always fall into apostasy and every time they are blind to their own corruption. When the Lord sends his servant as it states in Isaiah, and calls out the leaders and the members on their sins, will you believe it then? I hope you do, but Isaiah says only 1% of the current saints will. We have all gone astray save it be a few, and even that few are led into error because of the precepts of men according to Nephi.
Isaiah 24:1-6 says that we have transgressed the law, changed the ordinances, and broken the everlasting covenant, and as a result the earth will be burned and few men left. That is speaking directly to us. We are the ones who have done that. Ether 4 says we are in an awful state of wickedness and unbelief and need to repent. 2nd Nephi 27 says we are in an awful state of wickedness as well, which is why we do not have the greater things, or the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon.
Ezekiel 34 says the shepherds of Israel are wicked and feed themselves and not the flock. They have not gathered, fed, or healed the flock, but have scattered them and left them to be devoured by the beasts of the field. He then says he will hold them accountable, removed them, and he himself will do the work of the gathering.
JST Matthew 21 implies the same the thing. The miserable wicked men who are the current husbandmen of the vineyard will be destroyed and replaced. We gentiles will be destroyed and the gospel will go to the natural branches and he will gather them in with a literal gathering to the lands of their inheritance.
Laman and Lemuel were confused as to why the Jews in Jerusalem were considered judged by Lehi to be wicked. The sins and wickedness of the Jews had to be revealed to Lehi in order for him to see and understand the gravity of the situation. Yet Laman and Lemuel were like your average member, believing all was well in Zion.
These patterns are given to us so that we will not repeat them, but we always do. The Book of Mormon warns what happens when the Lords people fall away. We will go the way of the Nephites, Jaredites, the Northern tribes, and the Jews and only a small remnant will be left to help the remnant of Jacob build the New Jerusalem. Zion is built after our destruction.
