Glad you like it! I've been combining it with Relic of the Cavalier lately, since they kinda nerfed the Jade Bot Protocols (fixed the ICD), which covers a ton of boons, but you gotta mount up.

For real the raid armor looks better and doesn’t require research notes.

You'd be surprised. I didn't have a tracker running, so I don't have the exact Unid numbers, etc, but I do know exactly how many ectos, essences, and unstable motivations we got: - 13 Unstable Motivations = 104g at 8g each (live price) - 168 ectos = 58g - 500 T1 essences = 13g profit if crafting uncommon motivations 3,750 T2 essences = 153g profit if crafting rare motivations, while buying the uncommon (which costs you 20s of profit, but it makes the the numbers easier to explain) > essence amounts are rounded down, and I've taken the lowest profit value from gw2efficiency So over the course of 6.5h we made considerably more than that low 20g number.

@@phandrel 3,750 T2 essences = 153g? I checked crafted motivations a month ago, and the finished product was the same price as just the ingredients. In other words, it sold for zero profit, rather sell the ingredients and use your time somewhere else.

@@phandrel Yes I just checked, I am still right. In fact, you are losing money if you craft the rare kryptis motivation. Right now, if you check gw2efficiency, it says the profit if you sell it quick is 1g per rare Kryptis Motivation. However, it doesnt factor in the cost for the 80 research notes, which is roughly a gold by itself. If you slow sell it, you would make maybe somewhere like 30silver profit per motivation at most.

I don't have the exact numbers, as I forgot to track, but the most important items I got (rounded down in case of essences): 168 ectos (58.5g), 500 T1 essence (13g if crafting uncommon motivations), 3,750 T2 essence (153g profit if crafting rare and buying uncommon), 13 Unstable Motivations (104g)

Yeah, p/p is kinda relegated to the open world, or WvW with a celestial build (perma stealth unload).

I got so many ectos yesterday from all unids + those yellows, felt nice :)

13 over the course of 111 rifts (1 T1, 100 T2, 10 T3), and another one (so 14 total) for a convergence we ran at the end :)

It requires having all boons, though, which is a realistic thing to aim for in raids/strikes. Without those, DPS flatlines rather fast.

Mech (and cVirt) are definitely on my list to check out. Right now, I'm not too eager to swap out Guardians, though, as they provide 4x Aegis per minute on demand for the whole squad, if they all overlap casts. Otherwise, 12/minute, but we're not aiming for perfect timing.

True! But I'd also miss out on 6 guardians bringing Advance (2 charges of Aegis on 30 sec cd), which we'll use to cheese A LOT of mechanics in the next run :)

They just gotta give em the same Aegis application as guardians with "Advance", then my friendship would be over the blue class :D

This was before they reworked the Jade Bot Protocols. Soon you can get them once every 30 seconds (temporarily been put at every 90 sec). So it won't be as powerful anymore, meaning that you'll want actual berserker/marauder gear for dual gs, and the celestial will be fine for dual staff.

Technically, I as doing everything which is allowed, as I even used a healing skill near the end of the fight. But you're also right that ANet could go on a crusade. Guess I'll leave this up for a joke, but keep it in mind for the future.

There's some wildly different damage output from champions. Even in HoT: broodmother just shreds through you, while the troll, spider, and this one hit like a wet(ish) noodle.

Yeah, at first, it looks like a decent option since you can forego levelling crafting professions. But those 10 ectos per purchase add up rather quickly.

@@phandrel The main problem is that I had level 500 professions, I just didn't know that I could craft the essences on my own.

I actually hadn't even considered that yet. It's already a really meagre reward, but if you'd lose out on everything below 0 copper, that'd make it abyssmal.

I've been using gw2bltc lately, but the crafting tree doesn't always show up. Also, slowly working my way through some spreadsheet for that specific reason, they're slower, but more customised to my needs.

in the crafting calc on Efficency is a drop down for order or instand buy right next to "use own materials" and most other pages there have a similar option for the pricing.

I agree that the starter kit might have been a bit of an exaggeration as a comparison. I still find it hard to see value in 1% gold increase, though. For 2 silver, that's 2 copper. Knowing that the DR mechanics supposedly start kicking in when killing 5+ mobs/min (albeit never confirmed), that's a lot to still catch up. Given enough time, it'll probably pay off, but I'd rather get gold now and put that to use.

True! Levelling scribing was far more costly than I thought, and I seem to constantly sell stuff for the hall (and that's with a helpful bunch already contributing materials as well).

Turn those into a xunlai electrum ingot and make a jade bot core: tier 10 a day :) Requires some tinkering to do in a cost efficient manner (notably research notes), but it's a solid money maker.

There might be a small stigma against core builds due to them being so rare. Core guard can bring so much to the table, though.

how was the 565 gold figure calculated for the essence of gold item? its 1000 AA which if you cap and are buying 35 AA = 1g at the end, is only a 28.57g investment

that makes sense.. but you can only buy one legendary starter kit. its unfair to say 565g = 1000 AA for all the astral acclaim you earn

Yeah, compared to the most modest gold coin option, it is indeed less bad. I felt like still comparing it to the Legendary Starter Kit, though - as I figured not everyone is buying every item in the shop. Having the starter kit be in your bank for a year still feels like a better investment to me, personally.
