Time for week 3 of your favorite Sunday News Update! In 2 days the Super Adventure Box Festival returns, meaning we get to spend a ton of currency while doing our favorite jumping puzzles!
Apart from this event, we take a look at the most important price movements of Tier 6 materials, globs of ectoplasm, pieces of unidentified gear, and more!

I seriously appreciate these videos. GW2's crafting and economy can feel a bit overwhelming sometimes, but stuff like this helps chunk it up into notable but manageable bits.

Actually, I was doing the Soto meta train and crafting weapons from each map and selling them. It is worth the gold, especially if you have a lot of flax and orich ores lying around to craft a vessel of oil and the parts.
Yep, and due to the map currency being less prevalent than eitrite ingots, I feel this one could be here to stay.

The biggest bottleneck for me when it comes to t5 -> t6 upgrades is not having enough crystalline dust. i also don't want to salvage my ectos just to get them though.
I feel you, I've been running low on dust consistently as well. I've been buying ectos more and more often, although part of that has to do with having less time to farm as well (which hopefully gets fixed by streaming more :D)
Wow Phandrel, these deep dives into the economy are certainly unique! As I’m trying to get more serious about the game nowadays and tracking what mats I’m collecting I find these videos very helpful each week! Keep it up!

Hey Phandrel! Small bit of feedback: you should probably put a couple more seconds of dead space at the end of your video, as the last little bit of content gets hidden behind the video/channel links. I can't actually see what's wrong with the flutes because of these! I know you generally want rapidfire info in a small timespan, but if I can't see the info then it might as well not be there!

As for the flutes: the logging one can get your character stuck, wasting you tons of time. The mining one as well, and is one of the slowest in the game (7.07 sec animation). You could cancel the animation early, but even then it's slower than some of the slowest mining picks.

How do you think Grieving stats compare to celestial for open world?
Grieving would be much more offensive, and at that point, it might be worth considering Viper's. As I assume, the expertise would go a long(er) way over ferocity in protracted battles.
Although, I can imagine some builds might want the burst primarily, and the condition damage is a nice extra. I'd have to think about what build to implement those on, though.
@@phandrel Yeah that's what I was thinking, some builds really benefit from both condi & power. But the expertise takest the burst out of it. If you're a bit skilled then you can use your utility to survive without celestial without sacrificing dmg.
So I'm just thinking about pure clear-speed, obviously this would work with less open-world builds than celestial.
I'm thinking GS firebrand, scepter core chaos mesmer. Weaps that have good condi& power hybrid potential.
