Rare FEV Eisenhower Dollar Coin Purchased
Share This Video:https//czcams.com/video/StVrAKk0Sqo/video.html
I like collecting Eisenhower Dollar Coins. They are big like Morgan and Peace Dollars, but are not nearly as expensive. They are also from a short run so there are not not quit as many to collect. If you collect the right one in high grade it could mean a big payday for the collector. I also like the varieties found in the Eisenhower coins. The coin I have in my sights now is the Friendly Eagle variety, and they are rare. I have many 1971 d raw Ikes, but none are this variety. So I decided to look for the coin at coin shows and I found my first one.

In high MS condition it could bring hundreds or maybe even thousands of dollars. IN MS 68 and higher grade it might bring that amount. I am still searching for one in those grades. • @seniorsperspectivewithatwist
      @seniorsperspectivewithatwist Před měsícem

      Hi Stax! The proof coins come in a package set from the US Gov Mint. Some collectors receiving them open them and separate the coins for different reasons, and that is how we get them separated from original packaging. Proof Mint Sets have been around for many years, with different denomination coins making up these sets. Somebody took this nickel I am reviewing from a proof mint set, but you already knew all of this and I am just repeating what you already knew. Thanks for listening anyway.

    That looks like a D to me. So I pulled up an example of a nickle prior to 1965, and that's the correct location. The 1969 mint mark is on the obverse. That more or less puts the years of the design into perspective...so there's a mystery here. How could the mint strike the reverse between 1938 to 1964, but not the obverse till 1967? Interesting.

I have a Peace Dollar and a few other pieces too large for a capsule that I'm trying to tone. I had trouble getting my sound on at the start, and I saw the first coin before you I heard Unplated Planchett. When I saw the penny I thought it was a steel penny from the WWII era. I didn't realize that's how pennies were finished with a coating of zinc or whatever they use now. I know you talked about that coating in an earlier video, but I though the coating was a thin see through sealant. Interesting to learn that about our friend the penny.

      Hello again Stax! The 2 coins I showed in the video were Zinc pennies without the Copper coating. The transition took place in 1983 from a Copper penny to a Zinc penny. The composition of the penny today is 97.5 Zinc and 2.5 Copper. I added these 2 unplated/ 1 slabbed and the other unslabbed to my collection as examples of pennies without the Copper coating. I hope this info is helpful about the unplated Zinc pennies. Thanks agin for watching the video.

      Hi Nice! I thank you for watching my video. I did watch a couple of your videos. They were in another language so I did not understand them. Still the music was nice and I think they were discussing euros and King Charles lll. Thanks again for watching the video.

    Most definately is MS quality. Have you ever consider sending one of these off for grading?

      Hi Stax! Sorry for just now getting to a reply. I do plan on rounding up certain coins in the future and sending them in for grading.

    Nice vid - good to see a little silver!! I had a little trouble seeing the repunch on the 1st quarter, but not because of your camera. Just wasn't real distinctive. The extra punches were obvious on the 2nd and 3rd. I think the use of silver in coins prior to 65 has helped to keep the coins in MS condition from people stacking.

      Hey Stax! I think you are right about silver coins. I like collecting silver to. It's worth a lot more than the copper coins we collect.
